ENGLISH:
El hombre y la Tierra is a television series about nature, produced by TelevisiĂłn Española and directed by the naturalist FĂ©lix RodrĂguez de la Fuente.
It was broadcast from March 4, 1974 to June 20, 1981 -and repeated from March 12, 2009 to September 24, 2012-.
This series is a reference work for nature documentaries both in Spain and abroad, as the series was distributed in several countries. In its time, it inaugurated a new form of documentation.
It is divided into three blocks: the Venezuelan Series, filmed in Venezuela; the Iberian Fauna Series, filmed in Spain; and the Canadian Series, filmed in Canada and Alaska. There are 124 episodes in total.
On March 14, 1980, in Alaska, while filming some aerial shots for the episodes on the Iditarod, the small plane piloted by Warren Dobson and carrying RodrĂguez de la Fuente himself and cameramen Teodoro Roa and Alberto Mariano HuĂ©scar crashed because the aircraft was destabilized by the detachment of one of its hydropatins; all the occupants died instantly. The death of the famous naturalist -which shocked the whole of Spain- caused the series to remain unfinished -there were several episodes pending editing at the time of the tragedy- and its broadcasting was stopped until May of the following year.

in reply to Tio • •He was like the Spanish Attenboroguh back then, with a very peculiar and refined way of talking that made him very popular. He and his team were quite innovative in terms of making documentaries back in the seventies and presumably wil have inspired others later, like the bbc.
Also he would share social scientific values in his videos, like in this excerpt:
