Zeitgeist Commune Housing
Zeitgeist Commune Housing is now officially open, please re-read the first post (on fb group) if you want to use the facility. facebook.com/groups/thezeitgei…
The purpose of Zeitgeist Commune Housing
- A TZM Chapter having an offline place for meeting is the most basic steps need to accomplish first
- Online meeting mostly nothing can be achieved, need to have real people show up and face to face
- Free accommodation is provided for members only, both short and long term accepted
- Both local and international members accepted
I often get the question is there any requirement members need to do after moved in?
- at the moment none, members allowed to use it as holiday accommodation
- there is no time-limit how long members can use the facility, i have no problem give access to members for next 10-20 years
- this project is about sharing property space
- we are also listed on sharebay.org - sharebay.org/listing?id=1489
- Capitalism will not be able to provide people with free accommodation, capitalism & economy works because it deprived people from necessities, non-profit org must intervene if society wants to achieve world beyond war, poverty & politics.
- Moving from primitive (self-based capitalism) to more civilized/advanced & sharing society
- As a transition project, moving towards post scarcity model
- The new human rights movement
What are the approximate cost to live in forest city?
- the facility is paid off, no loan, no debt.
- monthly maintenance fee charged by building management RM200 plus a month (US$48.53)
- utilities/electricity/water RM100 plus a month (US$24.27)
- the calculation example above is for one individual, cost will be lowered for more resident due to fees divided equally among all
- pay your own food, varies on individual from RM500-700 a month (US$121.33-US$169.86)
How much is the short-term living cost?
Short term living is not available until i have found someone willing to be permanent resident first. Afterward, short term living is available ranging from daily, weekly, or monthly. Members can book, re-use the facility anytime they want, it is first come first serve basis. Fixed cost at RM10 (US$2.43) per day for each individual, this is a non-profit model, members pay for electricity & water only, and any extra will be saved for any future repairs/maintenance. If you stay longer than 6 months and above, it is cheaper, and will be based on the actual fees like calculated example above, not RM10 per day.
What about living in self-sustainable/moneyless rbe city?
Assuming you had a land with self generated electricity and water, you still need to spend your personal time growing own food/garden, cooking own meal, if want to eat meat need to slaughter chicken/fish/cow, spending lots of time at kitchen. This may result not much difference with any trade-based society, although you only work for yourself, what happened once you getting old? There are merits in creating self-resilient community like protect environment, but intentional community also produce extra or having co-op business that sell something at the open market in exchange for money. Thus, there are not completely moneyless, self-sufficient electricity/water infrastructure may become old and you may need money to repair. TZM is advocating basic necessities can be provided by fully implement today's automation technology, therefore nobody need to be exploited nor putting price tag on necessities. We are still far away from achieve that, therefore at this point of time, i only can see tradeless/sharing property space is a viable transition project from individual standpoint, after we had enough resident i will start collecting donation to buy a second property and so forth, until all the activist had free accommodation before open to public. Also as an example of moneyless/rbe society.
What kind of members allowed to stay and fully use the facility?
you already know how things are in relation to how you feel they should be
you've discovered yourself want to take action
you've find a means to implement action/spread awareness either individually or within a group
you are unsettled by the constant societal pressures of the status quo and the direction society is going
you've educate yourself on the current systems in place as well as research possible solutions
If you think you've fullfilled the criteria, message me.
