Chester, UK A 15ft-long python named after the actor Jodie Foster is believed to be the first snake in the world to benefit from a cancer treatment normally used on humans. Vets at Chester zoo said the reptile was back to her ‘bright and feisty self’ after undergoing electrochemotherapy for a cancerous tumour on her jawbone.
Spotted this little guy in our back yard this evening. He dropped out of our metal shed and made a loud bang when I took the dog back out, and then I saw him running across the ground. Neatest thing, apparently snakes have a really effective reverse gear. We were sitting there talking (the dog was clueless there was a snake there) and the snake quietlyreversed all the way back into the hole, Homer Simpson style! Didn't twist or anything, just retreated...
I thought I took a photo of one Northern Watersnake. On the computer I discovered two more, and even more of them were coiled up a few steps down the trail.
