Hi Fediverse! #introduction

I'm Ctrl Zee: engineer by training, project manager for 20+ years, lately a change manager.

I write The Undo Stack: short stories about the mistakes behind the lessons in #AI, #ProjectManagement and #ChangeManagement.
Each story has the same shape: what I pushed, what crashed, the exact Ctrl+Z moment, and what I'd redo (or rather, do differently).

Start here: theundostack.org/in-search-of-…

Your own Ctrl+Z stories are very welcome. #TheUndoStack

Curious what OpenProject can do?

Join us on September 8 at 3 PM CET for a live product demo & Q&A.
We’ll show how our open source project management software supports project planning, work packages, timelines, agile boards, hybrid project management and team collaboration.

The session will be hosted by Jan Keppler and Anna Mohn (@annamohn) with 15 minutes dedicated to your questions.

#DuckDuckFedi, please tell me about your favourite open source project management tools.

I would be prepared to consider proprietary software if I can just buy a fucking license once and then run it on my own PC or server and never interact with the company again.

Absolutely no cloud-based services run by third parties.

Must-haves:

• It needs to run on Linux (either locally or on a server I control)
• Gantt charts
• To-do listing of some kind - Kanbans are fine, but other approaches work too.

It would also be nice to have the ability to assign tasks to multiple users. This can be by email or just within the program, but I need to be able to label tasks as assigned to different people.

I do not need that to be a live self-hosted service, although I don't mind hosting one if I have to. (Is this something Odoo does or am I misremembering?)

My main focus is production for publishing and gamedev, with teams of <10 people.

However, I also want to be able to use it for standard business management stuff.

Hello! I am a product/project manager in software development. I'm interested in FOSS, science fiction, playing piano, making music on FL Studio, and hiking. También aprendiendo español. I set up this server to learn more about self-hosting and the fediverse. I want to learn more about mesh. I'm also learning about web development.

When “inclusion” fails, it is not always through one mistake.

Sometimes the whole response is wrong: the communication, the power dynamic, the timeline, the dignity of the person affected, and the meaning of care itself.

Our latest article looks at how discrimination can arrive as “project management”.

Includes two practical guides.

I finished the last certification exam for my #IT course today. I'm exhausted, and elated, and now a little anxious that I start my practicum in 2 weeks (yay!) But it won't result in a permanent position (boo), so I'll be back to job seeking in the era of mass #layoffs thanks to #AI.

If anyone has any entry to mid level IT postings that can be done from #Canada, let me know. 8 years exp. In #telco: #CustomerService up to #ProjectManagement & #ProcessDevelopment.

Have people tried #Matrix Spaces here? I am considering using it for private invite-only channels for a project that I am about to start. I want something for long-term stability with modest feature requirements. Mainly #GitHub issue/discussions integration. I like that Matrix is decentralized and has apps for desktop, phone, and web.
