We should think about #SSO as a Separation of Concerns issue.
It's a shame more #floss don't have better single sign on support. It should be the standard e.g. provisioning groups.It really shouldn't be just a feature for large enterprises. It's kind of a whole field of federation and identity that we don't talk about much.
Finally delivered two of the most-requested features for my #selfhosted app directory this morning: filters for #SSO and trending apps.
To do this, I spent countless hours manually searching through the docs for 1,500+ apps, so feel free to let me know if something isn't tagged correctly.

I know some of you are waiting for a blog post or gist on how I do it, but I first need to solve a few problems, mainly on how to get PocketID on a separate virtual network so that name resolution and connections work between the various containers on the same machine. Also: how to map the host CA certificates into the containers. If you know, how to do this with #podman please share, so that I can learn! Stay tuned :)

OK, after playing around a tiny bit, it seems that the code for this exists in #KaniDM

I've installed Pocked ID recently and switched many of my self hosted services over to it, and I absolutely love it! It's pretty, it's fast, it works really well!
Pocket ID is an Open ID provider that you can use for self hosted Single Sign On.
I just wish more services supported it!

So I was messing with #drupal in the #homelab and I wanted to turn on #SSO with #authentik.
Somehow I didn’t find the official drupal OIDC module, I found this other one. I installed it, got it configured, and the first time I tried to login, it said “whoops, you have to purchase this module to use it.” Fine. I like supporting software, what does it cost?
$250/year!? To LOG IN? F that.
One of its key selling points is how easy it is to configure. If I was configuring it often, maybe I could see that. But OIDC and SAML are the kinds of things you set up once per lifetime. Make it as hard as you want (many apps do!) I only have to get through it once.
I mean $10? Even as much as maybe $50 I might have paid once. But I refuse to pay annually for the ability to login.

I have now installed and tested Authentik for CoreUnit.NET. So far I am satisfied. Keycloak, dex and other IDP's made me dissatisfied in some steps. As a developer I just dont like the container image taging, please use semver so I can pin major/minor versions.
