Designing AI-Resilient Assessment: Reclaiming Human Learning in an Age of Automation
In my latest blog post, I explore how educators can design assessments that maintain their integrity and authenticity in an era increasingly dominated by artificial intelligence. How can we ensure assessment genuinely reflects human learning rather than AI-generated answers? I provide practical strategies and insights to keep learning human-centred and meaningful.

Ello you awesome people!
It's me again. Sorry I've not been around much, I've been sporadically using the first Friendica account I made, where I follow more folks and folks follow me.
But... The last few days, I've not been able to login to the friendica.world site, as it's just not there... It keeps giving errors or just nothing at all... I have no idea what is happening with the instance... So I switched to this one and I guess I'll have to follow some more folks with this one.
I still primarily use Mastodon, as I do like the Friendica bit, but I'm not all comfortable yet with using it, if that makes any sense... 🤔 Guess autistic me likes new things, but it holds on to things it already knows...
Have a nice day everyone! 😁
So there is a massive power outage in Spain and Portugal right now. No phone service, no Internet, no "modern" life :D. The cause is unknown - euronews.com/my-europe/2025/04…
What is funny is that we are in the mountains in spain with our TROMhome and we had no clue about any of these. We are fully offgrid in terms of power.
We have lots of solar panels, enough batteries, and satellite internet. So we are all good.
Perhaps we are indeed ready for an apocalypse. Waiting for it here in Picos de Europa :)
But yah, interesting this happened. Likely no "mysterious" cause. Keep an eye on the updates here - bbc.com/news/live/c9wpq8xrvd9t

P is for Pick Pixelfed
Sam says "This one is about Instagram and I know it can be a tough one.." but for me it was the easiest of all.
I was never an #Instagram fan. After avoiding it for years I eventually signed up to see a friends' posts, and was mystified as to how it fed me a bunch of random stuff rather than anything I subscribed to. What is the point of this? Now I've forgotten my password and good riddance.
Whereas, for the last couple years since I learned about it, I've been enjoying the heck out of #Pixelfed. It's my calm, beautiful oasis on the internet where I post and enjoy images of nature and interesting places and cats (#caturday!), and I keep it that way because I curate for myself exactly what to follow.

Playa de la Colada, el Viso. A nice looking recreational area, pretty quiet off season, but the water was contaminated and was full of dying fish! A little bit eerie but otherwise a nice place. In the last photo you can see how flooded it was after all this rain.
Oh and we also found mold under our bed! 😯
