Yeah actually this is not unusual unfortunately. I do have automated tools that will block these IPs. It is just sad to see this predatory incentive. Especially for projects like ours that are already struggling to keep afloat. I also know that you're around so in case shit hits the fan, I know who to call 😁.
Yeah.. There are entire farms of people doing this kind of scam as a daily job. It isn't uncommon that entirely volunteered projects and even famous non-profit organizations suffer from hacking and losing access to their networks or crucial data. Those fuckers just don't care. An opportunity to steal something that can be used for other harms is what has meaning to them. Force of trades has no mercy here as well 😞
