The idea of launching satellites to display ads to humans, from space, sounds like an utter idiocracy. But it is something some are thinking seriously about. See here.
"Space advertising turns out to have a potential for commercial viability."

A trade based society where humans need and want (because of constant training) to trade this for that, even when we have enough to provide this or that without trading anything in return.

If we keep this trade society alive, humanity will get trashed. And is likely to be too late anyway....

Yeah, unfortunately, nothing new for our insane trade world.. Any idiotic idea counts, just to try to make a bit more money for someone to go on. Imagine how much money that someone can cut from the morons who will buy this shit? And sure I bet Musk's already first in the line offerring a delivery of that garbage to the orbit..

Swear, I had a joke that they would spend hundreds of millions of dollars on a research how to grow vegetables and fruits with the ads inprinted on the their surface. Hundreds of years of the biologocal science discoveries for these sorts of stupidity.. Now it sounds like someone can consider this shit seriously.

The era of space ads started when elon musk put a tesla car into orbit around the earth, now I wouldn't be surprised if they went all in and show us ads in the sky. What an idiotic trade-based society 🤦
