One big perk of moving is that now I have a 1GB internet connection which helps me a ton with the VN stuff + backups. I am doing 70-80GB of local backups daily, for all of our websites. #tromlive
@Tio moving flat? I am also doing several GB twice a day... only have 100MBit/s now, but will also move this year and there I will have fiber with a max of 1 GBit/s.
Looking forward to that too, but even more important is the upload speed. Here it is always asynchronous, nobody knows why, but it is.... currently I got 40MBit/s upload. The backup just needs a bit longer to arrive at home with the 100MBit/s, but if you need to restore some data in case of a crash it takes forever to restore with 40 MBit/s. But online storage servers are also expensive, so I gonna stick with the NAS at home.
Yah we moved in the same city but got a better internet connection and it is up and down 1GB. So that's super useful. Upload speeds are as important for me as download speeds.
Here too it is very expensive. 75 Euros a month. Funny part is that when we called the internet provider and told them "give us the cheapest and slowest internet contract you have" - because we wanted to reduce the costs, they were charging us the same. So we might as well go for the 1GB connection. Weird. Charlatans probably.
@Tio as far as I see they only offer 200 MBit/s upload maximum for end customers, businesses can get higher band width I think. Here 1GB / 200 MB is 80 €, really sad.
