I would be willing to pay a small fee to support the independence of such a service but my needs are pretty simple.

An aunt's joy
Last September, a 1,200-meter-high mountain peak collapsed in Greenland after the glacier supporting it from below melted. The resulting landslide triggered a 200-meter high tsunami that sent shockwaves reverberating across the planet for over a week (earthquakes only last minutes to hours by comparison). #tsunami #DicksonFjord

if people don't have jobs, they don't have money and they can't buy things so a bunch of people have dire consequences and are the sacrifices and a bunch of companies go out of business
that seems like the inevitable outcome of companies rushing headlong into firing everyone

This is the video statement by the man who self-immolated in front of the "israeli" consulate in Boston on 11 September. All we know for sure is that his name is Matt Nelson.
**DO NOT let them depoliticise his sacrifice.**
Credit to @freePAL2020 on twitter for finding the video.
(If you can, please save it. We don't know how long it'll be up on youtube. I have a copy, if you need it.)

Secretive steps toward privatization of health care in Alberta, Canada by United Conservative Party government
Early this year, the government opted to pause the long-awaited renovation and expansion of the Airdrie's existing urgent care centre while they reviewed an undisclosed proposal to add One Health—a private partner—to the public facility. After much public outcry, the government announced the public project would resume. But mere weeks later, they confirmed they had quietly provided an $85,000 grant to One Health to develop a business plan for a new private health facility which would include a second urgent care centre in Airdrie. The full details of this proposal have still not been shared with the public.
...It sure looks like Airdrie is being used as the test case of a new for-profit model of acute care, which would be a major shift in how we deliver health care.

It is a human thing,
No, this is methodical, mechanical brutality and extermination. The human factor has been forsaken in favor of the same frame of mind which created the death camps.

Regarding the green side of the force I can't really say honestly. I think it's quite average even if encryting is more energy consuming. It's still better than self-hosted email server but differences must be not notable.

It's def. not perfect as a non-European company but I thought at least they have a track record of making good decisions, they exist for a long time, and their business model is not ad driven or based on reselling my data.
Also: I asked their support about a detail in their new plans and got a human to respond v quickly.

in reply to Daniel • • •re. green energy: realistically mail hosting doesn't need much storage or compute compared to everything else we're doing nowadays or even compared to the business activities around the hosting so that was not a concern to me at all.
Disclaimer: I do work in the climate space and understand that this take might be controversial. I just try not to lose myself in details here.

It's also family-owned and operated, I believe.
