@Oldfartrant If you were to do that for me you'd presume I was local to the area...DNA isn't any sort of "magic bullet" unless he, or someone closely related, had also done it or is in one of the many criminal/military/service databases and can be cross checked.
@Oldfartrant you can only search some data bases with a certain type of case. Unfortunately he does not fall under this category so this limits acces to database searching.
The fact that he had an American or Canadian accent could also be because he learnt English from someone who spoke like that, which throws the net even wider, or that he was born to someone from there (but never lived there).
@UkeleleEric In my opinion there is not much use in discussing al the possible options. The more this search reach out the higher the chance they can identify him and find some relatives. Let's help te poor guy.
Sunday morning at Tim Hortons and I’m trying to mind my own business.
Coffee smell. Grey light through the window. Three women at the next table, all solidly middle-aged, talking loud enough that minding my own business becomes impossible.
They weren’t born yesterday. Fleece vest. Rings. Reading glasses. Phones facedown beside the coffee. Women who’ve already raised kids, buried pets, and survived men.
Then Fleece Vest says:
“I’m just saying, if you had to pick.”
Her friend looks up from her phone. “Pick what?”
“Lord of the Rings. Hottest one.”
My ears wake up.
“Legolas.”
Fleece recoils.
“Legolas?”
“Absolutely. Look at him.”
“Too pretty.”
“That’s the point.”
“He looks like a doll.”
“He looks like a very pretty doll with a bow.”
Now they’re both grinning.

“Still Legolas.”
Fleece makes a face like she just bit into something bad.
Then they turn on Linda.
Linda has been stirring her coffee through all of this. Slow circles. Eyes down. Linda looks tired in a way sleep probably doesn’t fix.
“What about you, Linda?”
Nothing.
“Linda.”
“Mm?”
“Aragorn or Legolas?”
She stops stirring. Thinks. Shrugs.
“Gimli, I guess.”
Fleece Vest chokes. Phone drops her phone onto the table. I nearly lose my coffee.
“The dwarf?”
“Sure.”
“Linda, that’s sick.”
“He’s shaped like a fire hydrant!”
Linda doesn’t care.
“He’s funny.”
“Funny?”
“And loyal. He’d stick around.”
Fleece pauses.
“You’re picking Gimli because he’d stick around?”
Linda takes a sip.
“Nowadays? That counts for a lot.”
Now I’m looking into my cup because if I make eye contact with anybody I’m finished.
Phone leans toward Fleece.
“Something’s wrong with her.”
“Ever since the divorce.”
Linda takes a sip.
“It’s not the divorce.”
“It’s definitely the divorce.”
There’s a little silence.
Then Linda shrugs again.
“He’d be warm in winter. That’s all I’m saying.”
That kills me.
Fleece Vest stands up with her cup.
“I’m getting a refill. And I’m not sitting next to her anymore.”
Phone starts laughing.
Linda doesn’t.
She just keeps drinking, calm as hell, like the matter has been settled.

I have just seen a post about EVs sales in the UK, compared to fossil fuel sales. The OP mentions "self charging" hybrids (using verbiage from article they are quoting from)!
There is no such thing as a self charging hybrid vehicle! If it was a self charging vehicle it would be a perpetual motion machine, if it converts another fuel to into electricity to run then it is a hybrid vehicle!
So a lady has just beaten her own world record as the oldest female wing walker, but why is it called "Wing Walking" when you are strapped motionless to a frame on top of the wing?
Would you mind editing the AltText to add something like: the street musician is playing the violin while sitting. With his feet he manipulates pedals that make a puppet playing a small piano move its arms and looking around, so it looks like they're performing together.

Think about it. If millions of women wore smart glasses, recording men's behaviour, conversations, comments, their driving & bar chats ... can you imagine the panic? Smart glasses would be regulated before you can say the word 'Meta'.
Finally, a technological answer to a hypothetical asked by Amazon Women on the Moon: What if women had access to a system for reviewing the past romantic behaviors of their soon-to-be date. This skit was so prescient, but I doubt they were going for that.

@briankrebs For a little while, I was a part of southern Ontario's kink community. After a little while, I got word of a semi-secret undercurrent to that community. Playing on their insider language, "sub-net" was a word-of-mouth network among "receiving-side" women to talk and find out reputations of men they were considering seeing. It was far from flawless, but word did get around about problem men. I thought it was a fantastic idea, and I never worried about what might be said about me.
A conference I am speaking at later this year just announced they are banning these smart glasses. I'm glad they made that explicit, but they really shouldn't have to. IMHO, anyone who is infosec or aspires to be in this profession who is walking around a conference w/ these on needs just keep walking into a new profession.

I would not mind a name and shame web site, something like "Boors of the week", that would make bouncers and barmen job so much easier.

We aren't banning shit lately regardless of who is the douchebag's gender anymore. Just see what Rowling is doing too. And with the Flock camera debacle it's pretty obvious they would only ban them if they aim at rich people and is done by poor people. We found the game gentlepeople, start putting cameras on the rich's houses and attach a bomb in case they want to dismantle them.
I'm not a lawyer, but my understanding is many, but not all, of the obnoxious uses of smart glasses is already illegal in Australia. This includes covert audio recordings, and commercial use of images without consent has many restrictions. The question is about enforcement.
Imagine what would happen if large portions of privacy vilotions shared with and published at the numerous Networks operated by Meta would possibly be conducted by women?
It would sure be both outlawed and even prosecuted!
He has had camera teams with them when he said things like "grab them by....". It didn't change anything. Some may have even voted for him because of this.

@wisegreyowl we should have a law allowing women to carry those little laser pointers and use them to block these smart glasses. Shame if it blinded anyone using them. Real shame.
