Pleeease don't reccomend Odyssey. It's a horrible platform run by horrible people who have said and done disgusting things, and they're still anti-open source and for-profit.
I know they're bad in those ways but as an alternative to youtube, they are better than no competition.

it's a self hostable YouTube frontend, (with loads of public instances). it cuts out the ads, and dials down the noisy UI. Additional features like downloading videos. it's pretty great!

How hard is it to imagine all the "enemies" of the empire getting onboard and fast. Venezuela, Iran, North Korea the list gets longer as time goes on.
