Ello sweet, lovely, and maybe also sporty Friendos

I have been working on writing two blog posts, both shining a light on "getting and doing better", but both from a different perspective. And while doing some research for one of those, I found some things that could possibly help me.

Some things, I was already aware of, but I tried them too soon. Apparently, some things work better when they're done in some sort of order...

Well, I just got myself to the treadmill, as I skipped that at the gym as well. And, I wanted to stop after I walked half an hour. Instead, I got my phone (my tablet was playing a series I like) and I opened a folder of snaps I edited of Arwen.

I scrolled through several of those snaps, I felt myself getting emotional, but I tried to focus on Arwen, on her eyes, on the love and strength behind them... And... I managed to walk another 15 minutes!

Just seeing her when I was struggling, yes I got emotional, but through some of the snaps, I felt her presence, and that gave me just that little boost that I needed to push myself a little further.

I don't know if this will help again a next time. But I am glad it helped me now. Glad and grateful, that her strength still helps me, even though afterward, I am a sobbing mess... 😢

But, I walked for 45 minutes, got to 3,15km, walked ⅔ of it with a 2% incline, even though my muscles weren't too happy about that. I did this... My gall helped... 💜

It's been a while since I did "one of these", so let's write one down now, as I feel it's very important at this moment to reflect on the positive things...

Three Good Things

1. Writing about my emotional and physical challenges, trying to discover what may help me best to recover from all the sadness, depression, and constant exhaustion.

2. Finding tips because of the writing, trying one of the tips out, and I managed to make it work for me, even if only a little, but it was a win, and I felt a moment of happiness come through... 💜

3. Knowing that Arwen still lives on inside of me, and that the right memories, the right pictures or videos, may give me love, strength, and support in moments of weakness.. Her memories, her life with me, however much I'm hurting due to the loss, she left me so much stronger and better. I just need to see through the grief to realize that. (which I'm still working on).

Thank you to all that have been supporting me! These last 3½ months have been so hard for me, with challenges coming in harder than I ever experienced. I'm still not feeling good, emotional and physical pain are still present every moment of the day... But, thanks to your support, I know I'm not all alone in this... Thank you!

Diary of an AuDHD Squirrel. Day 701 , Sunday 28/09/2025

Sunday has been a quiet, relaxed day.

It's been a pleasant autumn day weather wise, mostly dry with moderate temperatures.

I made us some smoked salmon & scrambled egg open sandwiches for lunch - very nice if I do say so myself!

We caught up with some of Mrs S's TV shows this afternoon then watched the 1st episode of 'Judge John Deed'. We used to be so spilt for choice back when that was aired the first time, not like the mind numbing scop that serves as entertainment these days!

We finally got around to seeing the movie 'Flow" which is a lovely film that I can recommend to anyone who is a cat lover or is out for a nice gentle hour or so.

We had pulled pork with a cheesy mash for tea & even had a dessert - something quite rare fir us - a couple of chocolate brownie style frozen thingies that were really quite nice - I think that they would go better with custard though if we have them again. (Surplus shop permitting! )

Final Thoughts.

Not a bad day at all - one could almost forget that the world is going to hell in a hand basket - almost!

Ello sweet and lovely Friendos

I hope you all had a good weekend! Mine was OK enough, where I did several chores, I got some gaming in, a wee bit with a friend that made it even better, and I tried to get some more sleep and rest. 😊 I did manage to get my exercises in, but I didn't "overdo" them, as I realized that my body just needed more rest. 😊

Today, someone will come for the heat pump. Hopefully they can fix everything properly, so that when the heating will be needed (were getting colder nights and days again), it can run as properly as possible. I understand that they way it's now, that it runs more expensive. And life is expensive enough not to add more (unnecessary) costs to it. So fingers crossed 🤞🏻 this person will be able to fix it (for me and my neighbors who had the same issue...).

I was checking my October calendar, as it's getting closer to that now, and wow... I have quite some appointments! Some I look forward to (meeting with friends!), some I don't really want to go to (dentist... Ugh...). But this week, I have the folks for the heat pump coming this morning. Tuesday I have PT! Yay for that. Wednesday, mum and I will go to Germany, as she has an appointment on Thursday. Friday, a good friend will come over. And mum will bring Bas, as I'll be doggy sitting again. Only little Bas, and only for the weekend... 😊 He'll be picked up on Sunday again. So that does mean I can't be in bed longer, as I'll need to let Bas out in time. But I should be OK for the other days, I hope. 😊

I haven't heard from a few friends in a while. 😔 It happens from time to time, but it does worry me a bit, as some used to be in touch every few days... So I'll try to contact them and see if they missed my last messages or if they'd just been busy. Hoping that it's not something I may have done to upset them. 🫣 (especially as it's happening with three friends 😢).

Let's send the messages and then get ready to do some of my exercises. 💪🏻

#Journal of a Dutch Pixy (Sunday, 28/09/2025).

I woke up after a fairly decent night. I managed to get 7:45 hours of sleep, which wasn't too bad at all. The scale was kind, and I got dressed. I took my meds and got ready to head to Skoosh. Let's drive to the gym again.

Going to the gym wasn't really an issue. But once I get to the gym, it feels so hard to get to actually doing some exercises. I sit in the chair with my phone longer than I currently do exercises for. And it bothers me, as I want to do more. But the motivation is low, as is my energy, and I don't know how to get it back. 😔 Maybe I just need some more rest and sleep, and maybe my muscles need to be more relaxed so I'd feel they'd be up for some exercises. Ugh, I know I want to do better. I know I need to do better. But actually getting myself to doing the hard work... I feel like I'm constantly failing myself. 😢

I rode the bike for 15 minutes and walked the treadmill for 15 as well. I used the massage chair and then, I got ready to head home again. I did do something, but... It didn't feel good enough, and that disappointed me greatly.

I got back home, relaxed on the couch, and I wrote my journal Toot. I edited my journal blog post and I worked on a blog post for Monday. I watched some DS9 and felt very much bläh. 😔 After a while, I walked half an hour on the treadmill, making it to 2,2km. I relaxed a bit, had some brekky, and then, after relaxing some more, I went upstairs to ride the bike for half an hour as well.

I cleaned up the laundry, as it was dry. When I got back down, and the laundry was in the wardrobe and all that, I got back to the couch for a while. These feelings of sadness and disappointment were taking over and I struggled not to get sucked into it too much. I tried to write some more for Monday's blog post. And I tried to add some images to the matrix chat group. Some seemed to work, some were being annoying, showing up on the laptop, but not on the tablet or phone.

I was constantly fighting with my thoughts. They kept going to dark places, reminding me of all my errors, of all my failings, and I knew it was the dark monster that was trying to defeat me now my spoons were so low and my body was not in the best condition (yet?).

I was hoping my friend was going to come online a little early, as I knew I could use the distraction. So when she texted me, I tried to get ready quickly. I had a meal, got my controller and headphones and then, I waited... Unfortunately, it took a while before we finally got online. We did have a nice chat while we enjoyed some gaming, and I tried to use all the materials that I had found so far to create a new Corvette ship. I'm still not too good at it, but while I keep gathering materials, I can keep "playing" with it, to find the best ways to make something that both looks good enough, will fly good enough, and that will suit my needs. 😊

After some time, I logged off, as I suspected my neighbor to text me in a bit about walkies with her dog. But she came without texting, so then I had to hurry to quickly get ready. We had a very nice walk. After that, I got everything ready to head to bed. After watching a bit of a series, I got my eBook and I fell asleep while reading.

I had some very weird dreams, and every time I woke up for the loo, I thought I was done with the stupid dream. But when I fell asleep again, another weird dream took over... In the end, I managed to get about 7½ hours of sleep. I got up, the scale was a little less kind unfortunately, and then I got dressed and ready to start my new "day". It was the start of a busy week, with several appointments along the way...
