On the wooden sill stand three potted plants, dark against the light: a small round-leaved one in a pale pot on the left, a bushy green plant in a square pot in the middle, and a spiky, arching plant in a terracotta pot on the right. Next to them lie a small flat tin and a bunch of keys, and a dark red glass bottle stands at the right edge. Outside there is a house with a brown tiled roof and pale walls, and behind it a green wooded hill rising into a soft, overcast white sky. The light is low, warm and quiet.
