Intégration de #BabylonJS chez Antesy : configurateurs 3D, showrooms virtuels & jumeaux numériques performants. Optimisations clés : LOD, chargement progressif, rendu conditionnel, compression Draco (-80% poids). Solution scalable avec monitoring FPS, draw calls & fallback 2D. I was looking for a way to display mouse-over context information in a 3D scene, and the solution I came up with is to encode the ID of each object into colors, and render that to an off-screen framebuffer. Then, I can simply look up the pixel at the current cursor coordinates and get the ID!
It feels like a cheeky hack, but honestly I can't think of any other practical way for this - does anyone know how games and such do this?

Besides the beautiful interaction without chat with other (live) people in the game… what a master piece of work/art not only regards the scenery but the silky smooth programming…
Why I 🧡 the web.
This #WebGL game where you deliver messages on a tiny planet is amazing. Smooth animation. Peaceful vibes (and i didn't even play, I wondered around).

VRML And The Dream Of Bringing 3D To The World Wide Web
You don’t have to be a Snow Crash or Tron fan to be familiar with the 3D craze that characterized the rise of the Internet and the World Wide Web in particular. From phrases like ‘surfi…Hackaday

LOOP, a camera with an internal feedback loop
I am currently developing effect filters that can also be used on a smartphone. The new filters work with an internal feedback loop / additional color buffer. This creates effects similar to intentional camera movement.
I have released a browser-based app with these filters as open source today. The current version is not yet the final version but is already quite usable.
I wrote a retrospective on my #Genuary adventures with generative art with #PyScript and #Three.js.

Generating visual art every day in January - Łukasz Langa
There’s a small but dedicated community of crazy artists that gather every January to generate stunning visual art for no apparent reason other than Genuary being a clever pun on January. I joined them this year to get better at PyScript and WebGL.lukasz.langa.pl
#genuary31 prompt: pixel sorting.
This took a lot of effort since I have zero experience with GLSL, but it's a success in the end. The pixels are sorted, indeed.

#genuary26 prompt: symmetry.
#genuary27 prompt: something interesting with no randomness or noise.
If there's gotta be no randomness, you need to introduce control. I made this cute discontinued device called the #Monome Arc work with #PyScript. This is usually driven by a UDP server, but turns out browsers can't use UDP, so I wrote a WebSocket bridge. Looks like it works 😎

I'm off to #FOSDEM2025 at the end of this week to join the #SocialWeb devroom, and talk about @manyfold on Saturday afternoon!
Looking forward to talking to folks about #ActivityPub federation, #3dPrinting, #WebGL... pretty much anything TBH! And looking forward to a trip on the Eurostar, too 🚅
We invited Dan Greenheck to share the incredible technical details behind EZ-Tree, his open-source procedural 3D tree generator! 🌳
From fractals and recursion to Three.js magic, he explains it all in this amazing article: tympanus.net/codrops/2025/01/2…

#genuary21 prompt: a collision detection system.
#genuary25 prompt: one line that doesn't intersect itself.
The line segments really don't intersect. The first few seconds don't explain it, but things get more obvious later. Sound on.

#genuary18 prompt: What does wind look like?
#genuary22 prompt: Gradients only.
Looks more like a plant or urchin than wind, but this is where I ended up 🤷🏻♂️
This is a breakneck pace. I'm falling behind the submissions, but hopefully things will get smoother from now on.

#genuary17 prompt: What if pi=4?
#genuary19 prompt: Op art.
I couldn't come up with anything impressive for just pi=4 so I combined it with op art, then it came to life, especially if you have a comparison right away. This is why the video contains the Python prompt on the top and you can see the drastic change when pi becomes 4 for a while.
