Can someone please tell spain and the people living there that it is not normal to stay inside with your winter coat and shoes on and be cold when outside are 10 degrees? In Romania we stay in a tshirt inside when outside there are -10 degrees or less.

It is amazing to me how Spain, and other tribes too, waste so much energy and people feel uncomfortable too, just because they do not insulate their houses. We have put carpets in the entire house here in Spain, use a gas heater in the day time or go on the terrace if it is sunny since it is much warmer than inside, and have fluffy clothes designed for the winter that we use inside. And still it is COLD and uncomfortable!
It is insane. Inside humidity is being created and thus a lot of mold. We have to clean and paint.... It is a disaster Spain!
Overall a massive waste of energy and a lot of discomfort.
I understand your perspective Tio, but it is crucial to avoid generalisations about an entire country based on your personal experience on the Girona coast. Spain is diverse, with significant climatic variations between regions. In addition, preferences and practices in climate management can differ considerably.
It is true that in some areas, such as the Girona coast, the climate is more temperate compared to colder places such as Romania. This can influence people's heating habits and needs. Rather than assuming that the experience in Girona reflects the reality of the whole country, it would be more accurate to recognise the climatic and cultural diversity of Spain.
Personally I think that sometimes it would be better to let that frustration out by talking face to face with a person, a friend possibly. I say stupid things a lot of times because I need to discharge my frustration but I don't post it on the internet.

But yeah, I think if people were to understand how awesome reality is, they would not watch movies anymore. The reality is billions of times more complex and mind blowing than any movie.
I haven't seen Oppenheimer but I feel like comparing movies to documentaries is like comparing songs to podcasts - like these things are made for entirely different purposes 🤷 Anyway, I haven't seen any documentary or movie or series since my laptop screen started having pixel problems.
BTW, I had no idea Planet Earth 3 was released, that's like one of the best documentary series ever! 😃
Your example is really exaggerated. Songs and podcasts are an entirely different thing. You are comparing a 3 minutes audio that is meant to make you dance or sing, with an hour long mouth-talking audio?
Movies and documentaries at times overlap like in the case of the above example which tries to "teach" you about that scientist. And overall their format is very similar in many regards. Stories that you follow. In that regards yes, I find movies (most of them) boring and useless. Reality is far more complex and interesting.
Yeah I knew my examples were kinda exaggerated but I couldn't think of a better one, the point is that movies and documentaries are made with a different purpose in mind, even tho they're kinda similar in a lot of ways and sometimes overlap. I also don't like most movies but I don't mind watching a few good ones from time to time 🤷

Alors que la nécessité de l’intervention des femmes et des LGBTI dans le mouvement social pour le changement social ne fait (presque ?) plus débat, les modalités de ne sont pas toujours évidentes. Retours sur une discussion publique.
Le groupe local de l’UCL Montreuil, le comité d’Île de France des Soulèvements de la Terre et le collectif « Rencontres politiques » ont organisé ensemble une journée de rencontres et de débats sur le syndicalisme de lutte.
À cette occasion, un atelier sur le thème « syndicalisme et luttes anti-patriarcales » a été animé par des membres du Collectif Queers Parlons Travail (QPT) et a rassemblé des personnes d’horizons différents (XR, UCL, CNT, Solidaires, CGT…).
Il a permis d’échanger sur les raisons pour lesquelles les femmes et les queers se syndiquent si peu. Ainsi, il a été mentionné que l’organisation du travail est principalement adaptée aux hommes cis (organisation des horaires, articulation avec l’éducation des enfants, sentiments de compétences, ambiances de travail). Il est aussi difficile de syndiquer dans les secteurs précaires où les queers sont très présent·es. Les espaces LGBTI servent à s’échapper des difficultés quotidiennes, on y parle sexualités mais pas travail. Enfin, les queers s’investissent peu dans les sociabilités au travail car les collègues reproduisent les schémas hétéronormatifs oppressifs et des comportements discriminants. Inventer d’autres revendications
Quelques pistes pour aider à syndiquer les femmes et les queers ont été avancées : – en période de grève : - intervenir dans les secteurs dits « féminisés » et ne plus se focaliser que sur les secteurs considérés comme bloquant l’économie ; - sortir des revendications habituelles : la formule « à travail égal, salaire égal » ne recouvre pas la complexité des inégalités structurelles ; - lutter contre les ambiances sexistes et LGBTIphobes au travail et dans nos syndicats ; - changer d’échelon de lutte, en s’intéressant au niveau local, qui favorise la prise en compte des travailleurs et travailleuses isolée·es.
Lors de l’atelier, certains sujets ont été débattus car les avis divergeaient, notamment sur la question de la pédagogie aux dominants, ou des ateliers de « déconstruction du genre » qui peuvent être empouvoirants à titre individuel mais ne remettent pas en cause les structures matérielles d’oppression. Enfin, pour avancer concrètement, QPT souhaite porter un projet de revendication commune pour la journée du 8 mars : demander des crèches de service public.
Cette revendication permet ainsi d’aborder les questions de répartition du travail, des conditions de travail du secteur de la petite enfance, des secteurs féminisés, de la domination des adultes sur les enfants notamment queers, et des pratiques militantes collectives. Ce projet n’a toutefois pas fait l’unanimité. D’une part parce que peu des participant·es semblaient directement concerné·es par la question de la garde d’enfants.
Mais également parce qu’une telle revendication dans le cadre de la journée des droits des femmes semblait, pour certain·es, réduire les femmes à la maternité et leur rôle de « reproductrices ». Afin de poursuivre la discussion, QPT organisera une première réunion d’information sur cette revendication le 30 novembre à la Bourse du Travail de Paris (à confirmer).

Le procès de Salem a eu lieu il y a deux semaines, le jeudi 09 novembre 2023. Nous avons eu besoin de nous reposer de la mobilisation et dû faire face à certains contre-temps. Voici un rappel de ce qu'il s'y est passé et pourquoi :
Rappel des chefs d'inculpation et décision de la justice - Menace de mort envers Eric Zemmour : relaxé·e - Violence sur personne dépositaire de l'autorité publique : 1€ de réparation symbolique demandée par le gendarme Mr. Christophe G. - Violence aggravée (en cachant son visage partiellement ou totalement) envers Mr. Albéric Dumont : 500€ de dommages et intérêts et 105h de TIG (Travaux d'Intérêt Général) + 1500€ de frais d'avocats à rembourser à la partie adverse
Le procès a eu lieu de 14h23 à 16h environ, puis la délibération du jury jusqu'à 16h20 environ, et enfin le verdict.
Résumé des défenses - E. Zemmour et son avocat étaient absents : ils demandaient 1000€ de Préjudices extra-patrimoniaux, 1500€ de frais d'avocats - Le gendarme Christophe G. était également absent, pas d'avocat. Il demandait 1€ symbolique de dommages et intérêts - Alberic Dumont (vice-président de LMPT, et le responsable de la sécurité d'E. Zemmour), et son avocat Henri de Beauregard (Président de la Haute Autorité des Républicains, également défenseur de LMPT et anti-IVG) étaient présents. Ils demandaient : 1000€ de Préjudices extra-patrimoniaux, 1500€ de frais d'avocats
En l'absence des avocats d'E. Zemmour et de Christophe G., le débat avec l'avocat d'Albéric Dumont aurait dû porter uniquement sur la défense de celui-ci. Pourtant il a essayé d'instrumentaliser les deux autres plaintes, au point où Colin Verguet l'avocat de Salem a dû rappeler à la juge qu'il n'était que l'avocat d'Albéric Dumont. D'autres rappels ont dû être faits parce qu'il a voulu utiliser des pièces ne faisant pas partie du dossier, ou déformer les conclusions des enquêteurices. Ils ont tout fait pour dramatiser la situation ; entre autres en disant qu'ils ont dû rester sous les jets de fumier pour protéger les familles qui venaient avec leurs enfants à la sortie de l'école, alors que le rassemblement a eu lieu durant les vacances scolaires, et que les gendarmes qui s'étaient placé·es entre leur avaient dit de se retirer.
L'avocat a victimisé son client en parlant de notre rassemblement précédant le procès pour soutenir Salem, comme étant extrêmement violent et que par conséquent Albéric Dumont aurait dû entrer par la petite porte.
Une malhonnêteté qui ne surprend pas de la part de l'Extrême-Droite, et dont l'avocat représente également les intérêts de La Manif Pour Tous et de l'UNI, est anti-avortement/anti-PMA/anti mariage pour tousxtes et est Président de la Haute Autorité du Parti des Républicains. Pour un avocat qui refusait d'en faire un procès politique, nous avons trouvé tout cela assez ironique.
C'est aux questions (toujours floues, déstabilisantes) de cette personne, que Salem a dû faire face. La seule défense pour Salem face à ça a été de garder le silence.
Le gendarme absent Christophe G. a fait part du fait qu'il était choqué, d'autant plus que la réponse de la gendarmerie ce 18 avril 2023 a été calme face à la situation. Il pense qu'il n'a pas été visé personnellement mais qu'il a pris pour l'institution qu'il représente. Il avait demandé seulement 1€ symbolique.
Le Procureur Mr. Pierre Gérard a dit ne pas vouloir faire de ce procès une tribune politique, qu'il s'agit d'un délit d'atteinte à la personne et de trouble à l'ordre public. Il requiérait 140h de TIG (Travaux d'Intérêt Général) car pour lui ça allait au-delà de la liberté d'expression.
La défense de Colin Verguet, l'avocat de Salem, a rappelé que ce procès était évidemment politique.
En faisant la très longue liste des nombreuses plaintes qu'Eric Zemmour a accumulé contre lui, des propos violents qu'il peut tenir (misogynes, racistes, homophobes, négationnistes etc.), ainsi que la liste de ses condamnations et ses violences commises, au regard de leur insignifiance face à ses revenus. Même si les actes de Salem sont condamnables, il faut comprendre sa colère en tant que personne racisée face à la haine de Zemmour envers nos adelphes queer et/ou racisæs et face à l'inaction de la Justice.
E. Zemmour s'est lui-même servi de ce procès comme d'une tribune politique : il a instrumentalisé sa judéïté, s'est plaint du fait que ce rassemblement était antisémite : plainte indécente puisque basée sur une pancarte rédigée et tenue par un·e adelphe ællui-même juifve antiraciste et antifasciste. Colin Verguet a également rappelé l'étroitesse des liens qu'entretient Albéric Dumont avec Zemmour et l'Extrême-Droite, ainsi du fait que lui et les autres agents de sécurité sont restés volontairement sous les jets de fumier, alors même que les FDO leur avaient demandé de se retirer.
Par rapport au geste que Salem a eu envers le gendarme Christophe G., Salem regrette et n'a rien contre les FDO. Iel s'est laissé·e emporter par le feu de l'action et l'effet de groupe.
La situation de Salem Jeune personne queer et racisé·e aux contrats précaires, iel n'a pas d'hébergement stable pour le moment. Salem a donc besoin de votre soutien pour payer les 2001€ de dommages et intérêts + les frais d'avocat de la partie adverse.
Nous rappelons que notre adelphe a pris pour toutes le personnes présentes au rassemblement, pour toutes les personnes qu'iel a voulu défendre ce jour-là. Nous avons besoin de vous jusqu'à ce que les 2001€ soient payés, d'autant plus parce que sa solution d'hébergement normalement viable jusqu'au 1er décembre, est devenue seulement 5 jours après le procès extrêmement compliquée. Nous avons dû lui trouver un hébergement d'urgence encore une fois (merci infiniment à cette personne qui se reconnaîtra pour la rapidité de réaction et la générosité qui en découle).
Merci aussi à toutes les personnes qui ont déjà aidé Salem sur sa cagnotte. Merci aux personnes présentes au rassemblement le 09 novembre, au procès, aux soutiens moraux, aux personnes de l'ombre qui nous ont envoyé de la force et de l'amour. Merci aux organisations qui ont soutenu notre rassemblement. Et enfin merci à Colin Verguet pour son implication dans la défense de notre adelphe.

Do you really eat only 2 meals a day or was it a joke? I used to do this when I had a fucked up sleep cycle but had to stop because of the fatigue.
I actually gained a lot of weight during recent months so I'm trying to cut down on my food intake and do some exercises, but I'd rather eat 3 smaller meals a day than only eat 2 of those - I think that's the healthier way of eating less 🙃
Yeah we only eat 2 meals a day. And those meals are hardly big meals. In the morning a sandwich kinda, then later on in the day usually a small steak or fried chicken and some potatoes. Add some salad to these two and something small and sweet after. And that's all :). I used to eat 3 meals a day when I was a kid. But not now. I find it too much. It is good to eat less anyway :).
Man then you'd be shocked to see how much stuff I can slam down my throat, haha 😆 Maybe it has something to do with my metabolism but I feel very tired and fatigued when I don't eat on time, so I'd rather reduce the size of a meal than skip one altogether - if I'm skipping a meal then that means I'd have to eat bigger meals to account for the missed one so that I have enough energy for the day, and that's probably worse from a health perspective (spikes in blood sugar levels and all that).

When people start to use new platforms like Zoom, TikTok and the like, they put up with whatever new interfaces they have to navigate, just to use them because "these apps are trendy and everyone uses them".
Lastly, a gov owned social network is not like a gov owned educational network like PBS....PBS produces specific content that it controls. A social network is made up of the content that people produce....if the gov would control that, it would be censored like hell. Terrible idea!
The solution is decentralization. Else you have a giant company or gov that decides what we are allowed to post. Therefore, small instances of locally-moderated groups of people, that create a giant network. Welcome to the Fediverse.
Now let's continue to educate people about it rather than dreaming about the gov taking over a multi-billion dollar ad-based company and making it usable and free for all of us.

Spain is diverse, with significant climatic variations between regions. In addition, preferences and practices in climate management can differ considerably.
It is true that in some areas, such as the Girona coast, the climate is more temperate compared to colder places such as Romania. This can influence people's heating habits and needs. Rather than assuming that the experience in Girona reflects the reality of the whole country, it would be more accurate to recognise the climatic and cultural diversity of Spain.
Personally I think that sometimes it would be better to let that frustration out by talking face to face with a person, a friend possibly. I say stupid things a lot of times because I need to discharge my frustration but I don't post it on the internet.

Second, what made me post about it (and I should have linked to that because I cannot find the post anymore) was a popular reddit post where someone was asking why is it so cold inside the houses in Spain, why aren't them insulated. And I was reading through the comments and seen how many complain about that. I think there were thousands of comments there.
So I suspect, from my experience, that this is the case overall in Spain. But is nothing that serious. If I were that serious I would have look at studies/statistics to learn more about that.
It is beyond ridiculous to read on well known and popular spanish news websites that it is recommended to buy an electric blanket or use candles to make yourself warm in Spain :)).
