Partant d’une situation dramatique avec une crise de l’accueil en cours depuis des années dans le pays, cette loi va aggraver les conditions d’existence des étranger·ères sur le sol français.
Cette loi raciste et xénophobe restreint le droit au séjour, accentue considérablement la répression, s'attaque au droit d'asile, au droit du sol, aux étranger·ères malades, aux étudiant·es non européen·nes, au regroupement familial.
L'attaque contre l'hébergement d'urgence, le durcissement de l'accès aux prestations sociales dont les allocations familiales et les aides aux logements vont jeter des familles à la rue ou dans les bras de marchands de sommeil, particulièrement les femmes migrantes. Cette loi va précariser davantage les travailleuses et travailleurs, les lycéen·nes, les étudiant·es avec ou sans papiers.
L’extrême droitisation de la politique gouvernementale s’insère désormais dans la loi, grâce à l’alliance des macronistes, de la droite et de l’extrême droite. Il s'agit de la loi la plus régressive depuis 40 ans. Cette loi s'attaque aux libertés publiques, bafoue les droits fondamentaux tel que le droit d'asile et réinstaure la double peine. La démocratie doit se bâtir sur des valeurs d'égalité entre toutes et tous. Nous exigeons l’abandon de cette loi. Nous avons une responsabilité collective à poursuivre une action massive et populaire
contre cette loi qui banalise un projet raciste et xénophobe. Toutes les organisations appellent à une mobilisation la plus forte possible contre cette loi, le dimanche 21 janvier, et jusqu’à son abandon.

Soutien à la Palestine : 24h de garde à vue sans raison, mais des menaces de poursuites pour la justifier
Ce samedi 6 janvier BDS 34 (Boycott, Désinvestissement et Sanctions) a appelé à une action pour dénoncer la politique de Carrefour par rapport à l’État d’Israël : Carrefour a envoyé gratuitement des colis alimentaires aux soldats israéliens engagés dans le massacre de Gaza, Carrefour vend des produits provenant des colonies israéliennes en Palestine, Carrefour renforce ses partenariats avec des entreprises liées à la colonisation de la Palestine. L’action visait à informer de ces éléments la clientèle de Carrefour en appelant à boycotter cette enseigne.
Durant une heure les manifestant·es ont sillonné les rayons du Carrefour de Lattes en alternant slogans, prises de parole, « die in » pour symboliser les mort·es de Gaza. L’ambiance était très déterminée et tendue car encadrée de près par la police et la sécurité de Carrefour. Mais, conformément au souhait des organisateurs, elle s’est déroulée sans violence ni dégradation. Les reportages des journalistes présent·e·s sur place et les nombreuses vidéos l’attestent.
Alors que les manifestant·e·s quittaient le magasin, un incident minime avec un vigile a créé une courte et petite bousculade. La police est aussitôt intervenue brutalement et en a profité pour interpeler violemment une personne. Il s’agit de Gilles, militant syndicaliste à Sud Éducation 34 et membre de l’Union Communiste Libertaire de Montpellier, actif depuis 30 ans dans le mouvement social. Il a été placé en garde à vue au motif de « participation à un groupement en vue de commettre des violences et des dégradations ». Auditionné seulement le lendemain vers 10h30, puis libéré vers 14h30 le dimanche, il aura subi plus de 23 heures de garde à vue sans raison, les vidéos en notre possession sont également éclairantes de ce point de vue. Il lui a été signifié oralement qu’il serait poursuivi pour refus de prélèvement ADN et participation à une manifestation illicite, qu’une convocation au tribunal lui serait envoyée.
Pour nous, il s’agit clairement d’une volonté de criminaliser le soutien à la cause palestinienne. Les actions de Boycott qui écornent l’image des entreprises et peuvent avoir des répercussions sur leurs chiffres d’affaires sont un moyen porteur pour agir ici face au drame qui se joue en Palestine. Et c’est quelque chose dont le pouvoir ne veut pas. Plus généralement, il veut cantonner toute initiative du mouvement social et syndical à des actions symboliques. Les manifestations qui pourraient gêner les affaires en centre ville, les grèves qui paralysent l’économie, les blocages de ronds-points ou d’entreprises qui ralentissent les flux économiques, les piquets de grève devant les entreprises qui génèrent de la solidarité, les actions écologistes qui retardent des projets nocifs et inutiles … tout ça l’État et les capitalistes n’en veulent pas. Le nombre de syndicalistes sanctionné·es et inquiété·es à la suite du mouvement contre la casse de nos retraites l’atteste tristement, comme par exemple les salarié·es d’EDF sanctionné·es pour avoir fait des coupures ciblées d’électricité ou qui ont restauré le courant à des personnes qui n’avaient pas pu payer leurs factures… Or la plupart de nos grandes conquêtes sociales l’ont été par des actions légitimes mais pas nécessairement légales : rappelons-le, les congés payés dont tou·tes les salarié·es bénéficient, l’ont été suite à de massives occupations d’usine !
Alors continuons les actions contre la colonisation de la Palestine par l’État d’Israël, amplifions les actions de boycotts et la lutte contre le massacre à Gaza. Plus généralement organisons la riposte sur le terrain social.
La solidarité qui s’est exprimée envers Gilles à sa sortie de garde à vue où il a été accueilli par une centaine de personnes s’inscrit, même modestement, dans cette logique. Elle doit s’amplifier si des suites judiciaires venaient à se confirmer, nous tiendrons informé des suites.

More TROMjaro Thoughts
This post is a little later than I wanted it to be, because where I live just got buried under 24" +/- of snow and I haven't had internet for a couple of days. So, here we go:Disclaimer: The day after I downloaded and installed TROMjaro, a new ISO was released. I downloaded and installed that new ISO because some changes were made and I wanted to be as current as possible for this post.
1: TROMjaro is not a beginner's distro. There are some things that need to be set up after install, and if you don't know how to go about it or where to find the setting before hand, you're going to have a bad time. CUPS for using your printer is a prime example. Like most things ARCH/ ARCH based, this is an RTFM moment.
2: TROMjaro is pretty privacy foused. Not on the level of Whonix or Tails OS (obviously), but the preinstalled software is all centered around not collecting any of your data. Even the customized Firefox is configured to block all ads, most tracking cookies, and browser fingerprinting. If that isn't enough, there is a preinstalled VPN that is beyond simple to use.
3: This distro is seriously snappy and light weight. None of the customization done to XFCE lags it down. Processor and RAM loads for daily usage on my machine are around 10% or less, which is actually pretty incredible considering I'm running a Ryzen 5 and 8 gigs of RAM on an HP Pavilion business class laptop with built in graphics.
4: There is NO BLOAT. "Out of the box", TROMjaro doesn't give you a bunch of useless software to clean out because you aren't going to use it. That's pretty much unheard of with most distros.
5: Speaking of software.... Between the Add/remove software app that has the AUR, Chaotic AUR, and Flatpak already enabled and set up, as well as TROM's Trade Free Software web app, it's pretty much impossible to not find the software you need for your specific use case. It's almost impossible to find any other distro that does all that work for you, though.
6: This distro is gorgeous. Seriously. Out of the box, the theming makes TROMjaro a pleasure to look at. The only things I've changed are switching to a different pre-installed wallpaper,and the Mac OS layout.
7: The Layout Switcher is one of the coolest things I've seen from a distro in a long time. I usually spend a bunch of time customizing a desktop environment to my liking after installing a distro. For the first time since I switched to Linux ( some time around Windows 8 - 8.1) , I haven't had to do that. Which is awesome.
8: "The Trade Free Apps" has got to be one of the best curated FOSS repositories I have ever seen. Currently there are 700+ pieces of software there, from video editors to matrix clients, none which collect data or have any telemetry. It's truly incredible.
I'd Like to be able to say "Now on to all the bad things about TROMjaro", but I can't. At least, not yet. I haven't had anything that I would consider a major issue. A lot of work has obviously gone in to the development of TROMjaro, and it shows. I think I've found my new permanent daily driver distro,
