These days we worked a lot on TROMjaro. NExt ISO release will come with some pretty cool features/fixes.
For one, we made it so much better when it comes to theming. We want people to rely on XFCE's default Appearance tool for the job, and now whatever theme or icon set you select form there (or install whatever) it will be automatically applied for GTK, GTK + Libadwaita, XFWM4, QT, QT5 and QT6. This is truly amazing. And it was not super duper easy but so far works great. That's how it should be. Choose a theme and an icon sent and voilla, it is used system-wide across multiple types of apps.
Here's an example with all of those kind of apps:
We had to also add some hooks for pacman to fix some stuff in regards to theming. So far all works great. I know I sound recently like an obsessed creature over theming, but IT IS IMPORTANT. If you select a dark theme and you see dark icons in an app, then you can't use that app. And vice versa. In the Linux world it is either a frankeinstein of theming or the gnome-way (do proper theming for 10% of all apps and be happy with that).
Second, we managed to add the Chaoric AUR. Which means fast access to AUR packages that are precompiled. So you can install them in seconds. UNGoogle Chromium for example, if you are to install it from AUR it takes several hours. From Flatpak can take a few good minutes, since it needs to download a lot of stuff. From Chaotic AUR takes a few seconds. That's the difference.
If you were to select 40 themes to install via AUR, it can take up to an hour to build them all. But only a few minutes via the Chaotic AUR.
There is a slight issue with the keyring, as in if you install TROMjaro you can't install anything from the Chaotic AUR....the keys are not properly updated it seems....we are trying to fix this but for now we added a little "app" called "Chaotic Keyring Fix" - click it, put your password and wait for the keyring to update (a few seconds). And done. We will try to find a better fix for this but in the worst case scenario this is how is gonna be.
We plan to submit hundreds and hundreds of packages to the chaotic AUR!
So very happy with TROMjaro! @Alexio and @Rokosun are super great and help a lot! #tromlive

Unknown parent • •We'd love to sync the fonts from gtk to qt. But this is what QT outputs as Ubuntu Condensed, 13:
How can we transform that font name and size to such a value? If anyone can help out we would be super happy to fix it.
