A technical tip/request:
Please make your videos available at a much lower resolution like 360 or 480 pix. Most of the time this is enough and it saves a lot of bandwidth, energy and in the end also the Earth

But think about it: if we enable that plus 720p plus full hd, that would take a lot more diskspace. I would not release these clips only in 360 or 480, those resolutions are very low quality. HD and FullHD I think are totally reasonable resolutions for 2024.

Yes, I think about it a lot!

Most of the times I watch (YouTube) video's on a laptop sitting in a comfy chair and use 480px.
360px is indeed often too low,
But I rarely need to go to 720px or higher, most of the time only when trying to follow a tutorial that involves things on a computer screen with high resolution and small text.

Keep in mind that a doubling of resolution takes 4 times as much data, bandwidth and energy!

If you try to change the world as it is now, please don't use an excuse like " HD and FullHD I think are totally reasonable resolutions for 2024."
It's an arrogant attitude that totally accepts #BusinessAsUsual driven by consumerism and ever more, more more

Strive for #less

btw it makes your videos also better available for people without fast, optic fiber internet.

I think focusing on these little things, for these little platforms like ours, makes no difference and sense. I can clearly see a huge difference between 480p and fullHD. Changing the world should also keep us reasonable. Should we also measure the energy it takes for you to start this conversation? :)

For now HD and FullHD are very much reasonable resolutions. If the internet speed is an issue for some, I am sorry but enabling one more lower res will put too much toll on our server's diskspace. We cannot afford it.

@tio
Don't think and/and, think or.
480 or 640 px takes LESS disc space

The quality is too bad for 480p. I do not see much sense in your reasoning. HD and FllHD are ok for the vast majority of people.
