Diary of an AuDHD Squirrel. Day 738 , Tuesday 04/11/2025

Tuesday started fairly late around 07:30 but since Mrs S had left all kinds of doins for me (yes, if you’re reading Uncle Harvey I have pinched one of your signature phrases!😜) I didn’t actually get around to breakfast until around an hour later.

I was going to have an easy day but somehow that never happened.

First a guy came knocking wanting to trim our trees, I spent far to long with him as I should have known to be wary when he did that trick that some cold callers do of ringing the doorbell and then wandering away from the door.
I’m not sure what it was but something about him ultimately pinged my spidey sense and I told hime we would get back to him.
I have been anxious ever since wondering if I let him see too much of the house / garden - he took a fancy to our 3 tier ladders and asked if they were for sale, I’m hoping the CCTV and the fact that to get to our back garden you have to be fairly determined dissuaded him from planing to have away with them while we’re out.

Having got shut of said cold caller I needed something to distract me and then I got shanghaied by my ADHD brain into re-routing the extension cable in the garage that I have the clothes dryer plugged into. It was a bit dubious the way I did it originally. Now it runs on a safe and, for the most part, concealed route.

Early this afternoon the DP to HDMI cable I ordered to hook Moocher up to the TV in my room arrived soI spent a happy hour running it in and then it died on me an hour later - the HDMI plug got very hot and then there was no signal no matter what I tried. I’m hoping that it didn’t take the DP port on the docking enclosure with it!
Time will tell, I’ve ordered a shorted one that I will connect to the existing HDMI cable that I know works.

One of the reasons I’m late posting my epilogue again is that I discovered a new ‘benefit’ of Fuxit!
The busted cable was shipped from the EU - one now needs no fewer than 5 different pieces of paper to send such things back!
Sod’s Law dictated that on page 2 the printer ran out of red ink - happily I had a spare cartridge so it wasn’t too much hassle but still!

Final Thoughts.

It’s not, on the whole, been a bad day, I’ve managed to get some minor jobs done and my chores too!

I hope that my fears about the guy I let in are just me being daft, I will no doubt stress about it until the weekend!

My back I fear is not currently my biggest fan - it had been somewhat abused today and is currently growling away in the background!

I miss you so much...

I've been crying for a while now. I had a memory being triggered (unintentionally!) by my bestest friends today. And while I was trying to sleep on their couch, I got this memory back in a nightmare. I woke up crying, all upset over it. I am not home, I don't have my comfort and safety things here, so I am trying to make the best of it... And writing about the memory, hoping that it will help me to "deal with it".

I edited the last ever picture I took of Arwen... To go with one of my last happy, but also painful, memories of her... And I try to write... While I cry, fearing I may look like a mess when I friend's wake up and come down... 😢
They'll understand, they miss her too (they're the friends I made the memorial heart with the lasered image of Arwen and her paw, with some of her ashes for).

I know I am often plagued by bad nightmares. But it's so much harder when you're not in the safety of your own place... 😭

I wanted to share this picture, that I didn't know would be her last, because she was just to frigging special! 💜🐾

Arwen, I miss you like crazy... 😭 Even after 121 days... 💔
