I've been enjoying #AssassinsCreedMirage and it's my first AC game since... the first one, I guess? 😆 I have been having such a nostalgia hit with this game because now everything looks better, and Basim's movements are so natural. I'm always late to the party... Just saw the franchise has FOURTEEN games? That's a lot of catch-up to do!
Here's a melody I liked:

The smartest person I know is Deaf. He’s one of those people who’s intellectually insatiable and who is constantly making and modding stuff. He runs a robotics, printing, and drone program at a university, teaches at camps, teaches college courses, and has decided to pursue his Ph.D. You know, just for something to do. He can wire a house, convert a car to biodiesel, and install a tankless water heater, among myriad other skills he possesses.
Deafness is only a disability because most hearing people can’t sign.

I think we should abolish Mondays and turn it into a weekly public holiday and it would make everyone a lot more joyful. We could call it Nonday.

Our Peertube instance will not work while we are moving the data file to the new server. Tomorrow hopefully we will have our Peertube located to the new server. 1.3TB of data had to be moved. Maybe the entire trom.tf server will be at the new location.
Hard to move this massive server but on it!

I'm autistic.
I'm not sorry I'm autistic.
It's unfair and unkind there are people furious with me for things being #ActuallyAutistic entails, especially after being unwilling to take even one step toward the middle of the communication gap. Contrary to some people's beliefs, yes, I do have genuine feelings and empathy.
I'm autistic, and I don't want to appologize for it anymore.

people often confuse the inability to pick up signals with a lack of empathy. Being unable to see the signals can *look* like a lack of empathy, but it's something entirely different.
Being red/green colorblind doesn't mean you don't want to stop at an intersection where you're supposed to.

it's not pdx without the deer
@hellomiakoda @admins oh, also, it's not pdx without 13 bridge emotes, either
joking aside, that's a pitiful amount of custom emotes, and the last thing I thought I'd be criticising a Portland instance for
We need the deer, and that colorful autism infintity, and a gold one, and some ACAB stuff, and WAY WAY more queer stuff. It's Portland. How TF the emotes so barren?
No food cart emoji? Nothin protesty?
@hellomiakoda You asked for it, I hereby bestow upon you the privilege and responsibility for curating a list of emoji we should add.
@admins @OctaviaConAmore Meee? Oh wow. Alright, I need to give this a good think. I don't want to let my city down.
I know we should have the deer.
I hope you know my intended tone was jestful, not accusatory or demanding. ❤️
Here's what I have thus far (there's an odt doc in there with links, and emoji names)
nextcloud.kodacloud.net/s/PDX_…
I recommend downloading the doc and opening it local
@admins @OctaviaConAmore
Portland is about inclusivity and diversity, so that's what I focused on.
I'll be tweaking that if I can find other ones I think people may want. :)
@hellomiakoda @admins @OctaviaConAmore
sorry - I have LibreOffice installed I just assumed it was about the file there and hadn't opened it.
btw there is a way to browse all the emojis on a given instance but I forget what it is. Like, it shows a page of all of them...
looks like a good start.
check this out. you can browse an entire instance worth at once. For example here is my instance and then cutie.city
emojos.in/hellions.cloud
emojos.in/cutie.city
EDIT: sadly it doesn't show animated ones animating. There may be a better tool
There you go! Appreciate you weren't demanding, it wasn't taken that way. Hope you enjoy the new emoji - @hanse00

Yay! Thanks! Now if I can just my phone to retrieve the new set so I don't have to memorize the names, lol.
Ello sweet, lovely, and maybe also sporty Friendos
After my half hour ride, I went to the treadmill, as expected 😉. I decided to try some speed now. So I left out the incline.
I started for 5 minutes at 4,2kmh. Then, 5 minutes at 4,4. Followed by 10 minutes at 4,6. After that, I went back the same way as I went forward.
So after an half hour walk, I managed to walk 2,19km. Which is a little increase from the previous "record" of 2km. But then, I did those with a 2% incline.
The recovery is going slowly. But I am glad to be seeing any improvements. And it feels good to share them with you all! 💪🏻
Onward and upward 🌟

> anti-vaxers are really dangerous.
Herd Immunity is the dumbest fucking thing I have ever heard in my life.
> It if didn't work, it's because not enough people took it.
Guess what, I've got a cure for cancer, 50$ each, and if it doesn't work, it's because Not Enough People Took It.
Imagine being an adult and believing this unfalsifiable tinker-bell nonsense: "It absolutely works, but only if everyone believes it."
Even goddamn "crystal healers" wouldn't be shameless enough to pull that line.
And the worst part of it all is, I actually think there are SOME vaccines which are at least somewhat effective, but if they insist on replacing scientific pursuit with Expert Consensus Soy-Orthodoxy then I'm gonna have to call bullshit on the entire industry.
After all, if their brains are so rotten that they think this is good science, they've probably gotten to the point where they're just mixing random chemicals together anyway.
@cjd > Herd Immunity is the dumbest fucking thing I have ever heard in my life.
Because you don't know biology. There a a number of diseases that are eliminated by that.
> Guess what, I've got a cure for cancer, 50$ each, and if it doesn't work, it's because Not Enough People Took It.
The dumbest comparison :)))
> they've probably gotten to the point where they're just mixing random chemicals together anyway
You just are out of the loop about medical technology :(
The problem always was the "protect your community by taking the wax". This is not biology, this is social engineering. I want to protect MYSELF, I do not give a rat's ass what happens to the political activist 'community'.
If you want real science, you need to include a control group, and 100% vaccination destroys the control group.
There are layers upon layers to this fuckery, including some of the worst one: COVID Passport.
Why don't you just admit it, COVID IS a cash-cow for Big Pharma, an electric fence to the herd-minded simpletons, and you do not have a single argument for vaccination that has not been shattered by basic reasoning.
The thing is, MAYBE this "Herd Immunity" thing actually does work exactly like that - it's still junk science because there is no measurable difference between "it would work if more people took it" and "it doesn't work".
It's not really any different from Power of Prayer: if it didn't work, you didn't pray hard enough. But at least prayer isn't masquerading as scientific fact.
Fear from COVID was neutralized by people fully masked up driving alone, the suggestion to mask up indoors, and more. There is no data we can trust as every dataset stored on mutable storage is massaged to death, to show a desired outcome.
There are plenty of us pure-bloods to show you how Big Pharma wants to keep "vaccinating', and 'boosting', simply because it makes them money. Let us see how you can remove the motivation for profit, without collapsing the entire equation.
What keeps this entire conspiracy going is "FREE" COVID Boosters advertised by my employer, and nearly every employer in the US.
Lets demand the usual co-pay, let the insurance absorb the rest of the cost, and you will quickly see a drop in demand. Once the herd-minded simpletons are forced to pay for these "vaccines', and 'boosters', the demand will collapse.
But as long as it's paid from federal funds, this is a windfall for Big Pharma.
I love that I live in a town with walkable (for me) amenities, but my neighborhood and yard feel like a nature preserve. These deer spent the afternoon hanging out in our little front yard. (Photo by my wife, Chris York).

Eradicating mould would save millions in health-care costs: how our homes affect our health
We spend a lot of time and money treating chronic health conditions. But we could prevent some of them in the first place if we improved housing. The Conversation
