I'm back at the gym! I had a decent enough night, just woke up a few times due to weird dreams, probably also caused by my leg being a tad annoying tonight and needing some stretches.

I need to remember to park the car in a different spot when I get back (further from the house), as they will start working on the street that connects to the parking so we can't use that! Which is very inconvenient as they took away many other places where we used to be able to park as well... 😔 Can't wait for the to finally be done... They hoped around Xmas, but I wonder if they'll really be able to make it that "fast" 🤔

I have the dentist today, so need to head to Nijmegen again this morning. Hopefully all will go well... Although they did say they wanted to check if they can do something about some of my molars. They did some work on one and now a lot of food keeps getting stuck between them. So they said they wanted to check that. Wonder if they will... 🤔

After that, it's weekend. I'll try to get a washing done, so that this will be crossed off the chores list. I think the new Dexter series starts here today, so I'll see if I can watch the first episode so I can chat about that with @Nio when we have our gaming session tomorrow. 😇 There will only be one episode, so I should be able to see that today...

Let's see what I can do at the gym today... Starting with the bike. "Mine" is free I think, so that's a little plus for my autistic mind... 😇

#Journal of a slightly busy Dutch Pixy (Thursday, 11/09/2025).

I had a bit of a broken night as I woke up a few times due to my leg and needing the loo. I got a about 6:45 hours of sleep. I would not have minded a little longer, but it is as it is... Hit the scale, which didn't like me too much, and then I got dressed. I took my meds and then got ready to head to the gym.

After some social media time, I wanted to get to the seated bike. But the one I usually use (the one furthest from the sound 🔊 system) was taken. So that made my autism grumble, as now I needed to use the one near the "music". It was loud and it triggered me so much, that I had to stop earlier than usual. I decided to try something "new" and I headed to the cross-trainer. I managed 5 minutes, and it went OK enough. I was just rather tired when I got off. I headed to the treadmill for 20 minutes before heading to the massage chair. I decided not to do any strength today, as I would be helping with the groceries, so that would be a bit of a workout on its own. After the massage I switched my shoes and headed home.

Back home I washed up and dressed again. I got to the couch with my tablet and I worked on my journal Toot. I edited it to my blog. And then I wondered if I should walk the treadmill. I was feeling tired and I knew I would be walking with the groceries and with Bas after that. But it also felt wrong to just stay in the couch... 🤔 So in the end, I hit the treadmill for 20 minutes. I relaxed after that until it was time to get ready to head to Nijmegen.

During my drive, bestie called on her way to work. I had to disconnect when I needed to fill up Skoosh. She'd done rather well, as if driven 288 km and she needed a little less than 12 liters. 😊 According my app, she'd done 24,39km on one liter, per average. Not too bad at all. When winter comes, she'll be needing more again due to the heating. But with the gas prices as they are, this was a decent usage. 😊

When mum was ready, we headed to Kleve. We got the groceries we needed and then headed to Appie in Nijmegen. Back home I unpacked all the bags for mum, she only needed to get things in their right places. When she was done and she had her coffee, we went out for a walk with Bas. It felt weird to go to the small woods without my gall. Everything is so weird without her... 😢 I'll probably get used to it, but I won't really like it I guess... 😔

I got asked my my male ex his partner, the one who fell in love with my first choccy Lab and decided to learn everything to become a breeder, if I would be able to doggy sit for her/them. She wanted to go out for a short holiday, as she'd not have one in two years, but she wasn't sure if the dog's could come along. She needed help with the two older dogs, two ladies aged 6 & 10. I don't know the details yet, but I may be doggy sitting for a while soon? 😊 It will be strange for sure, especially with two... But if she trusts me with her ladies, that must be a good sign as well (either that or she's desperate and anything will do 😂). Wait and see for now...

I got home and cleaned out the groceries. I made some food and I texted N that I had a little snack for B. Maybe he'd be interested? A little later I walked a round with them and we had a nice chat. There had been a letter about the construction work and we need to find yet another place to park... Ugh, it's so messy... Let's hope they will fix that part of the street ASAP so we can get the parking back again, as they're scarce to begin with... But we had a good walk and it was nice to cuddle the big fluffball some! 🐾 💜

When I got back, I watched some telly until I started to doze off. I got ready to head to bed, as I didn't have to keep Arwen in mind anymore when it comes to bed times and alarms. 😢 I watched a little bit of the Hunger Games and then I dozed off.

I woke up several times during the night, due to my leg and my bladder, and airund 23:45 I woke up and slowly started my night.

Good morning my fabulous Fedi Friends! ❤️ I am back in the land of the living after three intense days of work, trying to run multiple projects at once while dealing with client decisions motivated by politics rather than common sense. I'm currently sitting cuddling with Ziggy, listening to Toby chewing and Jadie making little grumbles from the shadows of her cage every time she hears Zigs grumbling, and I'm finally starting to de-stress again and just enjoy this wee special moment 😊

Ziggy is now running up and down my arm making her laughing sounds, to which I have to respond, which makes her do it even more, and louder. We are both "laughing" like loons and I honestly wonder what the neighbours must think if they can hear us. Crazy bird lady and her parrot making increasingly insane sounding laughing noises in the early hours 😂 Mind you, I think it's better than my neighbour at the back, who was yelling "Parker! Parker NO!" very loudly at her dog about half three this morning. I have no idea what Parker was up to, but his owner sounded very cross.

Some photos of Nature's Autumn bounty in my garden for you this morning. I love this time of year. The transition of the seasons. Time for reflection and gratitude for still being here to watch it all unfold again. Soon the huge squadrons of geese will start arriving - something I anticipate and marvel at every time - and Orion will become visible in the night sky. There's something very comforting in this natural, predictable flow, especially when the human world is in such turmoil.
