Carl Sagan in Spain?! :)

Azagra - a nice little town where we found freacking Carl Sagan:). So impressed to see that they make these astronomical observation points in some parts of Spain and how they add these info panels about the stars, Moon, cosmos and in this case Carl Sagan. Instead of a flag, we should put a telescope, like Sasha said :).

Instead of celebrating nonsense nationalistic events, we should celebrate our real story of evolution, the place in the universe, and so on.

Hungary Boats

We've joined Plastic Cup in Tisza river in Hungary. 15 teams on a boats made out of trash for 5 days going down the river. But it's not about speed, it's about collecting trash. Team which collects the most trash wins the race.
In this video we share our experience of joining this competition first time, our struggles and accomplishments.

We parked on top of a mountain :)

La Picota - we paid 8 Euros a night to park here. And we stayed for 3 nights. Trust us, we are very cheap people, so this must have been a fantastic place if we were keen to pay for it. Close to the parking was a "mythological" forest and at the end of it the most amazing view of Picos de Europa. Down the other way there were a bunch of beautiful waterfalls.

Indeed one of the best places we parked at.

The most beautiful place we parked at

Acebedo - close to the Picos de Europa, beautiful parking place, great hiking, so relaxing and wonderful. This is the number 1 best motorhome parking spot for us. We also got to experience how it is to be fully offgrid when half of Spain was without electricity we did not notice a thing, having solar panels and satellite internet. We could probably survive a zombie apocalypse :).

We hope to get back to this place!

Free kayak ride and relaxing at this huge lake

Almendra Reservoir - a very big and dark place. Dark in terms of the light pollution. We sometimes chase these dark sky places to look up at the night sky with the telescope. We met 2 nice humans from Germany who were parked with their van at the same place. They gave us their kayak for a ride and we showed them the night sky through our telescope. We had very interesting discussions about the universe and our society.

We Built This Wall for Birds — Here’s What Happened

In April, we joined a group of volunteers on a small island in the Drava River, Slovenia — and built a sand wall by hand. Why? Because Sand Martins, a small migratory bird, had lost their natural nesting sites. Dams and hydropower reduced the river’s flow so much, sandbanks stopped forming naturally.

So we decided to act.

In this video, we return two months later to see if our effort worked — and what we found left us speechless.

The most mindblowing cave!

The Nerja cave in Spain is perhaps one of the most amazing caves in Spain. It is huge and people used to live there thousands of years ago. Scientists found cave paintings, human bones, and even evidence that around the same time cave hyenas lived there too. In the cave it is the largest formation of stalactites in the world measuring around 32 meters.

This was such a mindblowing experience for us, it is hard to showcase the immensity of it and uniqueness in a video or photos. We were also able to get in there for free.

We almost didn't get out of this beautiful place

We went to the famous Caminito Del Rey in the South of Spain. But before we had to do the hike, we stopped for a few days in some near-by beautiful places. On particular was very nice, but almost impossible to get out. This was the most challenging for our Tortuga (motorhome) so far. We also did the laundry again, bought some food, and went for a nice walk around the area.

We found an open Zoo in the middle of nowhere

Japanese chickens, emus, exotic birds, llamas, dear...we came across this weird zoo-like place. We still do not know why it was there and what's up with it. Perhaps to showcase people these exotic animals. But is it ok to keep them there in a closed space?

On the other hand I, Tio, recognize the irony in the fact that I buy meat and put in the freezer. These are dead animals. But I have severe digestive issues and I can only eat a few things. Meat is one of them unfortunately. I wish this was not the case.

But well, it was an interesting and in a way weird experience for us to see this "zoo". We spent a night there.
