Made another video for LUT: Manjaro Plasma 21 (meh) videos.trom.tf/w/6E6nUsD24xjP2…
Testing Manjaro Plasma was a mess...quite inconsistent and difficult to test overall. Better than Ubuntu tho. Plasma wants to do a lot, but by doing so it messes things up. This video may seem all over the place, I am sorry, but it was because of the nature of this distro.
The hosting company:
The complaint seems to be solved; thus, we have closed this case and no further steps are requested from your side at the moment. If we should receive further complaints about your used services, we will contact you again.
The good news is that for now our server is ok. The bad news is that we can be bullied into removing links, even if it is illegal and unfair. And our complaints are not heard by the Contabo company.
I will voice more about this later on, or the days. We will make a page on trom.tf where we showcase all of such requests and our dispute with them. Our fight with this insane world. Changing the hosting provider won't work, since pretty much all will bend like that.

How we theme TROMjaro - forum.tromjaro.com/t/how-we-th…
I finally made this article! Detailing how we do it.
How we theme TROMjaro
Pretty much all distributions that I personally tested, and I tested a lot of them, fail to properly apply a system theme for most applications. Actually I know no one that does a great job.TROMjaro Forum

I hope you release the new code soon, this code looks a bit ugly for my OCD, lol 😁
But it works, so its fine I guess

"DaVinci Resolve 18: The Best Free Video Editor" - ytb.trom.tf/watch?v=XyzO2MTKwY…
That's the title of the video. MMMnot! It is not free. You have to trade your currency to unlock features. This is "freemium". Not free. You get a sample of the software so that they make you buy the full version. Classic marketing scheme.
The word "free" used again to mean very little if anything.
Just a scam.

So the strategy is clear, it is a lesser product to make you buy the full one. It is what it is, let's admit it. Freemium. So they should call it as such.
In terms of them pushing the PRO version on you, I only tested it a bit, but from what I know you are very limited in the "free" version in terms of what files you can import or what types you can export into, or resolutions. Also effects, transitions and such are mostly for the pro version.
I work on a 6h documentary in Kdenlive for the past 2 years. It is amazingly great. You can do a lot in it. Maybe Davinci is better in some regards, but if you can give me some examples I'd be curious to know....

Here's an update about Libadwaita and how Gnome still tries to convince everyone that what they do is ok because theming is broken - theevilskeleton.gitlab.io/2022… read the "Custom Themes in Qt Also Have Issues".
Now here is how we fixed that on TROMjaro - forum.tromjaro.com/t/libadwait…
As you can see, all good. Everything looks great on TROMjaro. I do not know any distro that is able to handle theming as well as we do. Not to brag about, because this is not a competition. But we struggle to make this work. I will make an article today all about how we do it.
Basically here's how KWrite (a KDE text editor) looks on KDE that has QT5CT enabled:
This is on Mate Cinnamon:
And here on TROMjaro:
But read the article update from the forum to get more context.
@TheEvilSkeleton
Is TROM II holding me back!? Feels like that from time to time over the last 2 years or so. Although there should be no rush and I should enjoy life more. I'd love to get back at writing books...writing books is a lot more direct and fast and saner. Video editing looks a lot more cool and interesting after it is done, but conveys a lot less info than a book - meaning I could write a huge book in about a year, but would take me several years to make a documentary that conveys a lot less info than that book.
Anyway...
In other news tomorrow I plan to release a new TROMjaro with a fix for KDE apps in terms of theming - we are making our Theme Switcher even more "complete" + A new music player. I'll explain it all in the release notes and I will poke even more at libadwaita. :D
Hey people, I am starting a new Peertube channel (yeah, exclusively on Peertube) called: Linux Usability Test, or LUT. I test Linux distributions in a more objective way and give them a score. I look at file support, theme support, apps support and settings support.
Here is the first video - > videos.trom.tf/w/rVbS33bfaDRxy…
You can subscribe to my channel here videos.trom.tf/c/lut/videos or follow via lut@videos.trom.tf
Please share if you think it is relevant. I have more videos that I've done and I will publish soon!

Those are not really objective measurements though. You give 40 points out of 120 to supporting flatpaks and appimages, 20 to support 4 (randomly chosen?) rare apps; that's already half of the points.
The settings you chose to highlight are also very much based on your personal experience.
Gestures are more important than keyboard shortcuts? Theming is much more important than window management?
I don't think there can be such objective measurements though, everyone has their own favourite workflows.
So it is OK to use your favorite measurements of an OS's functionality, just don't call that objective :)

Matrix finally works! It was indeed postgres (database) that took a while to fully update. Now all seems fine. Thanks @YunoHost !

So all of our TROM.tf services seem to work now, except our Matrix server...no chats folks...I suspect the database is still migrating from PostgreSQL 11 to 13 but it is a super slow progress. Our Matrix database is 77GB in fucking size...I've heard Matrix will push some updates this year that will speed up matrix in some regards by almost a thousand times. Which is crazy...can't bloody wait!
So for now we have to wait and see. I asked for help already but it is too late and developers sleep at this time :D .
Stay calm and try to fix things :) #tromlive

Sure but it provides video/audio calls, audio notes, markdown support with easy to use buttons for it (we use it a lot for code sharing), big file sharing capabilities, spaces, threads, reactions, and the userbase....i mean it is what i use to keep in touch with many open source projects....
They said Matrix will be improved hundreds of times by the end of this year so let's see...

I agree. And for now I chose the least possible bad business, which is a business that tries to help our environment by using money they get through trade to replant spekbooms and other stuff.
But I'd love to be able to not work for a company because I need the money.
