I've been working on updating a decision making process in a #coop from #voting to #consensus inspired by #ietf #decisionMaking process when a colleague made me realize that consensus process is not compatible with many #neurodivergent cognitive styles. It disproportionately favors #Neurotypicals and extraverted ppl while putting more introverted and less verbal type people at a disadvantage. Also it's yet another "social capital" dominated decision making process. Less social capital - less likely you'll actually speak up against the crowd.

The "no one left behind" goal is not fulfilled by the "no loud opposition" decision process. What process does that? We're staying with the simplistic voting for now but adding a prolonged debate. Any ideas? How other #cooperatives do that? Especially #anarchist ones?

"Shortening the kill chain” - quicker than “the speed of thought”

"What psychological mechanisms allow us to pour hundreds of billions into artificial intelligence while 600 million people will live in extreme poverty by 2030? The answer lies in the architecture of human decision-making under conditions of abstraction, proximity bias, and manufactured urgency."

This mushroom meme perfectly illustrates why blind faith in AI is dangerous. AIs are interactive information sources, not authoritative guides. Relying on them definitively, especially for safety, is unwise. We must remember that blaming the AI isn't the solution; the ultimate decision and responsibility rests with the human user.

The title says it all: "A Decision I Regret"

Sailplane racing is a metaphor for life. You make decisions based on incomplete or incorrect information while in an emotional state.

But along the way, Stefan Langer takes some amazing video:

One of the key moments in the video is here: youtu.be/EUnSStVyQqw?t=560

The result of Stefan's decision is shown here: youtu.be/EUnSStVyQqw?t=734

Stefan is not a local. He doesn't know these mountains like the back of his hand, but the French racers do. So, if the French make a move...there is a tendency for everyone to follow...like lemmings!
