This has always been my stance in regards to theming, I'm not a big customization freak or anything so I mostly just go along with the default theme of the distro I'm using, but if the apps don't respect my dark theme or font sizes then my eyes are gonna suffer - this is not about customization it's about accessibility.

One day I may do that. But I need to clean up the code a lot.

We are all humans. Atoms that make cells, cells that make us. We are not israelies, palestinians, americans, jews, arabs, europeans....we are HUMANS. And we have more than enough resources to share and live in a paradise on a beautiful and complex planet.

What a shame that the same brains who can understand how the universe works and the complexity that we have discovered so far, can be imprisoned by nonsense ideas and beliefs, and then kill each other because of these.

Shame!

Amazing and difficult journey. Great last video!

Damn to go through those tall mountains, alone, with a backpack that's almost your size, for 2 months straight....is insane. But that's Sasha! She is insane, in a good way. You can see the entire adventure on her Peertube channel videos.trom.tf/c/big_world_sma… .

Tough human! Little, but tough!

And the last days of my thru-hike across the Pyrenees: https://videos.trom.tf/w/rGU6BudRpmaNbZrNTBPG99

I actually made it to the end! 😁

GR 11 Transpirenaica - the END

The last two days of my ultra-cheap/ultra-heavy thru-hike! It took me 61 days to walk from the Mediterranean to the Atlantic across the Pyrenees mountain range (840 km, 39,000 m elevation change + several extra side-treks and peaks). Most people do it faster but my backpack weighed about 20kg and I weigh less than 50, so it was difficult! But to many people’s surprise, I made it to the end! Whew.

Thank you for watching!

My book will be available here soonish: www.bigworldsmallsasha.com/book

See you!

Our next TROM big project will be a stuff sharing platform that uses the Activitypub protocol. So anyone can spin their own local sharing platform and connect with the rest. It is a long term plan, but we will try to do it. It is just an idea for now.... but the other TROM projects were ideas too.

@smallcircles

Of course it makes a lot of sense for people to create local sharing communities where they live, and with Activitypub support we can bridge these localized communities together to form a wider network spanning the entire globe.

Indeed. Sharebay is starting globally and I think that's bound to fail. I have stuff to share but there is no way I can do it via Sharbay since the closest people to me are hundreds of km away....I won't pay for transport and they may not either. It needs to be local for sure. Global in case someone is willing to pay for transport. Activitypub allows us to have both!

Fantastic presentation by @Tio : videos.trom.tf/w/6R92qduTeGHma…

ZDay: How to Grow a Saner Society. A Lifetime Adventure (improved)

On 26th of August, 2023, we presented TROM at the annual ZDay event in Prague. This was the last ZDay after a decade long of making them every year.

Our presentation was focused on showcasing in a unique way how our society works and how trade is at the core of most of our issues. In the second half we focused on the positive side: how we and others create trade-free good and services and why this can become a tsunami movement if more of us engage into it, in a decentralized way.

We put a lot of effort into creating a simple narrative and interesting slides with animations, to make it all more fun and easy to understand.

This was the first presentation for Tio and we hope more to follow.

Being forced to move from Cuntabo to two different hosting providers trained me in regards to how we can move all of our websites somewhere else, and doing so only relying on our backups. Our backups go to BorgBase and are all encrypted. Even if we are kicked out from a hosting company, we will find another and restore from our backups.

Actually we can host at home on our computers....and again restore from our backups. But for now I would not want that.

With @YunoHost and Borg I now feel safe.

I can move TROM.tf in 2 days, and the rest of our websites in maybe 1 day.

So yah, I am happy that I was forced to move because now I know all of these things.

All of our TROM Files are again available via TROM Files tromsite.com/save/ - we make everything available for everyone, as trade-free. If more people would practice what we do, to create trade-free goods and services, the world would be a better place. It is tough of course, since the entire society relies on trade. But we must start something like this, despite being so difficult.

I see this posted on several websites recently:

Well....Youtube labels itself as a video platform instead of an ad platform or video-ad platform, or something similar. So yeah...people may get confused when Youtube act like an ad company. But they are.

Same way that facebook is not a social network, is an ad network.

This is an amazing article. Your YNH+Borg+Timeshift backup looks promising. I will have to think of something similar for backing up my own data.
