Our chat.trom.tf (Matrix/Synapse) has become very difficult to manage - growing database, not an easy way to prevent bots from registering, or others from abusing our service.

For now we have closed the registrations and only accept them via requests. We have 460 users but we are thinking to perhaps shut down the entire service this year.

Too much work considering anyone can make trade-free accounts with matrix.org or other providers....

We will keep everyone informed about our future plans.

@tio Nextcloud Talk is a great Software, but there aren't good security options on it, the conversations are saved in clear text on backend.

If you have some tips for this point, I would pleased to see it ;)

I understand. I hope they can add encryption to the chats...but on the other hand if anyone gains access to our server and is able to read that "text file" in the backend, we are screwed anyway since we host a lot of services on or trom.tf. Including Friendica which is not encrypted....

So yes, I do prefer an encrypted chat, but things must be put into perspective. Our Nextcloud instance at trom.tf already provides encrypted files/folders for all users, so at least we have that.

Belgium/Netherlands trip

The project was actually in Netherlands. But it was very expensive to stay and fly there. Luckily we have a friend Matthias who lives in Belgium and it turned out that he is quite close to the Netherlands border. Matthias also our Patreon and super kind and generous guy, so we stayed at his place. Sometimes that's the only option to film and volunteer is to stay at friends and save as much as we can. Because otherwise it won't be possible to participate in a projects so frequently. Kind of similar to the life of underground musician :)

Anyway, we rented a tiny car in Charleroi airport, because there was no other way to get to the different locations in Nether

Comme dirait Victor Hugo, il y a le fond et la forme…
Perso, je suis là pour discuter avec ceux avec qui je suis d’accord sur le fond, la forme prend des apparences…
Car pour moi, au mieux, ça n’avance à rien de "discuter" avec ceux qui font du bizness (social.trom.tf/display/dbc8dc4…), sans parler que je pourrais pas être affirmative sur "le niveau" de tous les bouffeurs de saucisse et d’ailleurs, avec qui même parfois, je peux être plus en phase sur le fond (mais de ceux que je sais de "cette" liste, ça peut pas l’faire) qu’avec certains qui n’en sont pas😼… . Il vaut mieux faire des choix, et perso, je préfère faire ceux là, je trouve qu’on a assez gâché comme ça .

Je ne vois pas bien ce que tu veux dire… Par contre, il clair que pour moi, discuter avec qui je suis d’accord ne m’intéresse pas. Je sais ce que je pense et je ne vois pas comment je pourrais étayer ma pensée en ne la confrontant pas à ses contraires. J’ai le sentiment de bien plus réfléchir quand je dois argumenter face à l’opposition. Pour qui partage mes opinions, un « j’aime » suffit.

J'avoue, je peux pas affirmer que c'que j'ai dit soit captable comme je l'pense...Mais pour l'instant, j'ai pas de meilleure inspiration. Bien entendu, on peut résumer assez "classiquement" comme tu l'as fait (en négation ou pas) pour ce qui est "extérieur"
