'No Kings' rally photos were 'confirmed' to be AI-created?

A meme shared in October 2025 alleged someone "confirmed" the AI origins of the photos, adding, "There were about 800 people in Boston, not 100,000."

I've just been told by my grandson that an area of Preston, Ingol has been closed down due to explosives being found at a property.
My grandson has been told that there are at least 10 ambulances, lots of police vans and army explosives team in the vicinity.

There's only one thing worse than having too many people in critical positions of power, that don't understand Root Cause Analysis; and that's too many that do, and STILL choose abuse of power.

It's one thing in burning fossil fuels, following a major revolution like the Industrial Revolution. It's another to have a clear path to graduating the burning application, and continuing to burn it, put future generations at risk, for the sake of more profit.

And the longer this continues; the more expendable our species is.

Stop the #ecocide #genocide. Replace the root causes.

Yah there is no purpose in this society other than trading. Ancient practice that has transformed us all into merchants and consumers. Until that is recognized there is no path towards a solution.

Some photos from another amazing cave in Spain: Cuevas del Aguila, just west of Madrid.
This one looks quite unique as the harder iron-rich rock in the cave is of a much darker, redder color than the bright white speleothems made of calcium carbonate. Well worth the 11 euro tour!

Here is our video about it-

Cuevas Del Aguila - a wonderland :)

This cave looks so out of this world. The white of the calcium combined with the "rust" of the rock make up for a unique landscape. Very memorable! We paid 11 Euros each for the tour and it was well worth it.

Nederlandse media kunnen zich simpelweg niet inhouden. Zodra er ergens een fascist met stropdas of mantelpak rondloopt begint hun hart sneller te slaan & beginnen ze te zweten van verlangen:

'Een fascist!
Ophef!
Extra clicks!

Timothy Snyder zei 'do not obey in advance' maar elke dag een podium is toch zeker vast wel OK?'

By-catch of sharks is a huge problem. Industrial fishing and especially bottom trawling is not only completely destroying seafloor and underwater habitat but also created so many unneeded and useless death of thousands of sea creatures. I don't even understand how it is legal.
In this episode we went to Albania to the "Sharklab" laboratory which conducting numerous studies on sharks, but also work in shark conservation and protection.

I think I timed my afternoon walk badly, I got halfway around and it started chucking it down!
Now sheltering under a tree until the rain eases.
Rain rain go away
I want to stay dry
While on my way!

Building Commons in Digital Learning

What would it mean to build digital learning environments that belong to everyone who participates in them?

Most online education still relies on platforms that prioritise control and efficiency over collaboration and shared care. Yet open education and federated infrastructures suggest an alternative. They point towards a digital learning commons where knowledge, resources, and practices are sustained collectively.

In my latest post, I explore how such commons might emerge through co-creation, reciprocity, and shared stewardship. How can we design digital learning spaces that foster participation rather than compliance?

Artillery shell exploded prematurely over California freeway during marines celebration

From The Guardian:

Artillery shell exploded prematurely over California freeway during marines celebration;
Shrapnel fragments rained on vehicles parked on Interstate 5 including highway patrol and JD Vance’s detail

Newsom had strongly objected to what he called an “absurd show of force” and “totally uncalled for”.

“The president is putting his ego over responsibility with this disregard for public safety,” the Democratic governor said in a statement. “Firing live rounds over a busy highway isn’t just wrong – it’s dangerous. Using our military to intimidate people you disagree with isn’t strength – it’s reckless, it’s disrespectful, and it’s beneath the office he holds.”
