I found evidence on my condo walkway that we've been visited by feral drag queens during the night. They didn't show up on the cameras, though.

NEW #PRIVACY ISSUE WITH #facebook As of tomorrow, Facebook will creep into your bathroom when you're in the shower, smack your bottom, and then steal your clothes and towel. To change this option, go to Privacy Settings > Personal Settings > Bathroom Settings > Smacking and Stealing Settings, and uncheck the Shenanigans box. Facebook kept this one quiet. Copy and Paste on your status to alert the unaware.

Ghost Keys and Cypherpunk Reputation Systems w⧸ Ian Clarke of Freenet

A discussion of how this system could help disincentivize spam and botnets on the internet by creating Webs of Trust and reputation systems using well established techniques, namely asymmetric cryptography, from as far back as the 80s and 90s. But making it easy to use.

Great new spot by #Freehive agency, which is a studio that uses an entirely #FOSS pipeline to promote the latest release of #thunderbird #opensource #freesoftware

And it's available to view on #peertube :)

Many great points! Free software is incredibly important and could mitigate so much of the issues we have with planned obsolescence and the e-waste that it creates.

How will great journalism be discovered in a world where SEO is dying, social media is fragmenting, and AI slop is everywhere?

I asked two of the most savvy people in the publishing world @jasonkoebler and @ben on the latest episode of Dot Social.

How will students find and distinguish functional journalism that is news oriented in the era of SEO manipulation, clickbait and straight up news-masquerading Slop is something all school need to be addressing in their curriculum.

First Google handed their domain business to SquareSpace ... and now SquareSpace has been acquired by a private equity firm.

I am now in the market for a new registrar.

I don’t know who needs to hear this but if you’re having this much trouble differentiating yourself from a malignant narcissist convicted felon, maybe you could try not funding and arming a fucking genocide.

Up there with Macron telling Netanyahu to remember that Israel only exists because the UN decided that it should. I dont like Macron and its still just talk, but its a step in the right direction.

Neither UNIFIL nor U.N. Headquarters in New York have publicly reiterated that the peacekeepers can shoot back at the Israelis if they are attacked.

This is a nothinburger. Of course they can, in theory. But they won't, and they're not even hinting they might. It's just an article of wishful thinking and what legally is written in their charter. But reality is a different deal.

We just added #forgejo and #sharkey integration to our list of tutorials, see: joinjabber.org/tutorials/integ…
Integrations like this make it very easy to add #xmpp accounts to existing services and #fediverse instances.
