Yes I too recommend tenacity. Here's how it looks in TROMjaro with XFCE (GTK):

They have a lot more themes. Which is a plus.

And this is how it looks in TROMjaro by default:

And with a dark theme:

We use XFCE but we struggled to make some scripts to make sure QT and GTK, of all shapes or forms, are properly synced so pretty much all apps look ok on the desktop. From themes to icons and text. From my knowledge and tests no other distro does this. I know it sounds like I am bragging but I am not. I wish all will fix the theming like we did.

Having 64GB of RAM is bliss for me. And I really use them. 32GB was always at the limit for me. Opening 2 Kdenlive projects or more for TROM II, testing stuff in VM for TROMjaro, having lots of opened tabs, and so forth, feels like a breeze now. Oh plus some 70GB of Swap memory haha.

Now I just barely started to work again on my laptop after I moved my stuff to it, so this does not reflect the normal use for me, but still almost 30GB of RAM used without VMs and just 1 Kdenlive project open:

Anyway, I like RAMs. And I use them. God bless :).

I have started the work on TROM II again. Last part. Little by little I am getting back to it, for the last time.

Let's see how it goes :D

I am getting sick of the "google deceptive site warning" for my websites....for fucks sake how many false positives can they intercept? Matrix Synapse deceptive? Nextcloud deceptive? Cryptpad deceptive? The Yunohost install deceptive?

Why is this even a thing? It should be opt-in if you want to be daddying by google and firefox.

Wow making ISOs for TROMjaro is so much faster now. 15 minutes to compile one!? Before it was around 50 minutes at least. That changes things a lot for me. I can make a bunch, fast, and test stuff. Lovely! Thanks again to those few wonderful ones who donated for the TROM Laptop campaign :) . It helps me, it helps TROM. It helps those who use the stuff that I produce.

Also installing it in a VM, 5 or so minutes. Fast fast fast.

So the new laptop speeds up my work on TROMjaro quite a bit. When I make ISOs for TROMjaro I usually make a bunch to test this, that, fix more, test more. For every ISO that I release I may make 4-5. To build one was taking around 50-60 minutes in total. Maybe more at times. Now?

HALF! At times even quicker.

So yeah, that's super cool. I will test these days the rendering speeds for the TROM II documentary, curious about that. But ofc since this laptop has 3 more cores than the previous one, of course it will be faster.

I am so happy with this laptop.

Relying on donations is great, and sucks.

Why I am keeping this laptop?

Another very productive work on TROM II. If I move that fast I can finish the third part in a few days time :).

Also, I've seen this nuts video with a sunfish - rdt.trom.tf/r/NatureIsFuckingL…

Unbelievable! These are the things that make me happy and in awe. There are moonfish where I live and this year I want to do the open water course so I can dive. I live in one of the best, if not the best diving sites in Europe. So I want to take advantage of that and see some aliens :)

Mother marry jizas christ I finished the 2nd part, the 30+ minutes addition to it. Was a pain in the ass. I am still not 100% happy with it and I will improve it a little bit after all of the parts are done. But yeah 1h 40 minutes in total. I may cut off a few more minutes in the final edit. It is a monster.

But yeah I have to leave it behind. I will try to finish the 3rd part these days. Hopefully won't take me more than 7-10 days.

You know, I also have to "move on" and not try to make it "perfect". It is what it is. I will make more stuff after the documentary will be released. It is not like this IS IT.

Anyway I am happy to leave it behind and move on for now.

This is how they look for me:

They are squashed into a square shape. But when I click them they look proper:

I do not celebrate Christmas or the New Year or any holiday. But is not like I'm against any. I do see the perverse transformation of all holidays into consuming-events, and that I despise. But overall whatever....if people enjoy, then enjoy it. I personally do not really care. I feel great pretty much every day :) - and I create my own "holidays".

I wish people would celebrate better things like the nature side of things. This period of time, for example, is a great one to see Mars and Jupiter. Or celebrate when we first discovered cells, the atom, other galaxies, and so forth. Make it really wonderful, for all. Kids and parents and everyone else. We could do better than gifts, a tree with lights, and a fat dude dressed in a red costume ;).

So yeah, for me life is a continuum not a day, a month, a year, a holiday, and so forth. Just enjoying the ride.

My laptop journey: Dell Inspirion 7620 2 in 1

I will try to eventually move all of my 500GB of photos and videos to files.trom.tf via an object storage extension. This Photo App is now better than perhaps any Linux Photo Gallery apps out there.

We have updated our TROM Files https://files.trom.tf and now we provide a much better Photo Gallery app. An almost complete alternative to the Google Photos. You can sort your images in albums, sort by date, add tags, folders and more.

On top of that you can now directly edit your photos from the app itself:

You can add text, resize photos, add filters, tweak the brightness, contrast and the like.

We give 5GB for free for everyone. And if anyone needs more you can let us know. We do it trade-free of course.

Enjoy the beauty of Nextcloud!

PS: a few features are missing now, such as the ability to extract archives or convert videos. We will enable them as soon as they become compatible with this new version of Nextcloud.

A reminder that if you do not like Musk and his Twitter you can host Friendica, Mastodon, Pleroma or other such networks yourself via @YunoHost - start here yunohost.org. It is easy easy, you won't regret it. Ask around, I and others will help you out.

If this is too difficult, join the many instances out there. Start here for Friendica or here for Mastodon.

If you do not trust yet another boss to boss you around and tell you what you are allowed to do or not on the platform, and you are not skilled to create your own instance, then I and others provide managed instances. Basically you pay a monthly fee and have your own instance. I do this so I can support the 30+ free projects like tromsite.com or trom.tf.

So via webape.site I provide such a service.

Lately more people want a Mastodon instance but I also provide Friendica, Peertube or other such platforms. Mostly thanks to @YunoHost .

Choices folks. Join the millions on the fediverse. Forget about these for-profit (trade-based) platforms like Twitter, Facebook or Youtube.

JOIN.

Well at best they are "assembled in Germany" but not "made in Germany". If that's not deceiving...

And I wonder if they are even assembled more than changing the ram, ssd, or the motherboard. Like add them to chassis. In any case maybe we can tag @TUXEDO Computers to clear some things up...

Are Tuxedo and Slimbook rebrands of a Hong-Kong laptop company?
