Hey folks, it's time to break up from capitalism that's destroying everything! Buy my book, I'll tell you all about it!

The irony of this society is astonishing.

Insane world.

Learn how to fight deforestation in paperback :) haha
Some time ago there was an album of singer Jack Johnson who with it was fighting the plastic pollution. He made a nice music video collecting plastic on a beach, and was promoting especially problem on the beaches of Hawaii, of course the album was in a plastic CD format :)
I pointed out that in the comments, and I believe his manager replied that if I don't want CD i can buy digital download :) But the fact that they are selling hundreds of thousands of plastic CD's haven't confused him at all :)

Yeah I am so not surprised. I wonder if these people understand the irony and choose to ignore it because they make money off of it, or simply they cannot see the connection there....

TROMnews is finally able to update automatically all of the sources! I have debugged and reported the issue to the developers and they pushed a fix. I had to manually update most sources, daily, for the past 2 or so weeks, which was a pain in the ass. Now everything works automagically.

Thank you Matthew Bass for becoming the 43rd TROM Supporter! tromsite.com/donate/ - we still need some 160 more to donate 5 Euros a month but maybe little by little we will reach our goal!

We have 2 weeks to raise 300 Euros to pay for our yearly backups for everything that we do for TROM. From TROM.tf services to our materials, our Nextcloud instances and everything in between. If you can please donate here tromsite.com/trom-backup/

If we cannot cover the costs of the backups then we will cut the backups short and not backup several of our services for more than a day or two. This will lead to the future cuts we will do at the end of the year if we cannot get enough financial support for TROM overall tromsite.com/donate/. It is unfortunate and I (Tio) will do my best to keep this project active and relevant, but I cannot run 20+ projects without enough financial support.

It is unfortunate and it makes me very depressed to accept that, but I am ready to accept it if by the end of the year nothing major changes in regards to the financial support we are receiving for TROM.

I will still do my best to start a new video series for TROM this year and will see what more.

Much respect for those who are still supporting TROM financially after so many years.

One of the things I've learned from the driving school is that newer cars that have a lot of safety features, are involved in more accidents than older cars that lack these features. They say it is because people do not know how to use these features or are more confident while driving thinking that the "safety" features are going to protect them.

Isn't it interesting!? Where is that news ha!?

Everyone talks about the new cool features in these new cars, but isn't it extraordinary to learn that they are less safe than old cars?

HA!

@0xd9a sounds like all the justification I need to get a 1994 Volvo 240 wagon

it's unfortunate that you're having to learn from a bad English translation, but relevant info like this is what they should be teaching at driving school.

We need help to pay for our backups. This is a yearly funding campaign that we do, so if you can help us please see here tromsite.com/trom-backup/ - we only need 300 Euros for a full year of 4TB encrypted backups.

This means everything from our videos and documentaries, books, websites, including trom.tf (meaning all of the files that users have uploaded to our services - from Peertube videos to Nextcloud files). Everything!

300 Euros to make sure that we have everything backed-up in a secure place.

Please help if you can and thanks a lot for doing that!

The best one-man distro ever made!

Lookin fer a new #distro but don't wanna choose between #KDE, #GNOME, or some obscure #WM the arch kids are into this week? Maybe you've heard some old greybeards grumblin about #enlightenment but figured it was just some hippy thing. What if there was an easy way to get yer hands on the tried and true, real enlightenment window manager, #e16, without all that configuratin bidniss? If yer lookin for a well polished #debian with a UI your friends prolly don't have, maybe take this Elive thing nobody's talkin bout fer a spin.

Much like any good magic trick, the more you know about what's been tweaked and streamlined behind the scenes, the more you can appreciate all that's gone into the making of this distro. This has been a one-man project from before the time I learned of it sometime early 2005 in the #e channel on freenode. Much though and dedication has gone into the design of each release since then.

Go check it out, it's free if you don't wanna help with production.

This Rats Search app is amazing github.com/DEgITx/rats-search - it lets you search on the Bittorrent network and download from there. No website needed. Unfortunately the interface really looks like some rats on a boat did it...

Does anyone else know a similar application? I'd like to even include it into TROMjaro if the Interface does not suck like this one does....

To be fair, designing good UI is hard.... It's an entirely different skill from programming.
