Terrible...

(source)

Humans have divided themselves into tribes, groups, beliefs, genders, kinds, colors, etc.. In fact we are all the same, part of the same wonderful story of evolution. Of an universe that evolved into us and many other things.

So far there is little to no sign of intelligence on this planet.

The can be radically different if the culture pushes them to be, but in fact we have similar needs and mostly same problems. We all need food, shelter, safety, healthcare, access to information and so forth. So yes, we are more alike in that sense and we are all indeed part of a greater story, far greater than any simplistic cultural/religious story humans have invented.

The same is true of yeast however.

Religions are insane but politics is just secular religion.

I think we gain sanity when we stop trying to force unity.

Trying Friendica

I'm going to try to figure out Friendica, since I have to move off my old Mastadon account. Just wanting to see how it works out.

How we do astrophotography with an old phone?

videos.trom.tf/w/rYkMsXVAUxCXd…

Cerro del Hierro, a very nice place where we stayed for a few days and were able to capture perhaps the most amazing nigthsky timelapse. Us, a bench, and the rest of the universe. And we explain how we do these photos/timelapses.

We were also invaded by goats and Sasha went for a small hike between the beautiful rocks.

AI, Assessment, and the Automation of Judgement

If AI can write essays, mark them, and generate feedback, what does that say about the way we assess learning?

In this post, I explore how the use of AI in education does not just disrupt assessment - it reveals how mechanised our judgement already is. What happens when machines are better at performing the tasks we use to define student achievement?

Is this a crisis, or an invitation to reimagine assessment altogether?

I've been trying to boost more these days.
Not just my own toots, but also ones by friends and friends of friends.
I know this is a small account and it won't have much impact.
But maybe new folks will find it, find me, and we'll be able to connect and... I'll be able to share more cool things!

I'm using Raccoon for Friendica, and sometimes I miss the alt text logo on images. Raccoon doesn't warn me when I try to boost something without alt text. I always try to boost things that include alt texts. So I apologize if I miss it and sometimes boost things without it.

Although I don't really check the quality of the alt texts as my spoons are low... 😔

Hope you'll have a lovely time! #TZAG

We found a super nice motorhome area with services (including electricity) for 6 euros/night, but getting out of there was a bit tricky:
videos.trom.tf/w/vewyoFQd9VmYM…

I also found some donkeys and nice scenery in the hills surrounding Fuente del Arco :)

The best paid parking? And can we get out?

Fuente De was a surprisingly good paid parking. Just 6 euros for parking, water, and electricity. But when we tried to get out we realized that the only way out was uphill and near a big hole that was not there when we parked. It was really difficult to get the motorhome out of there... But we really liked that place in terms of motorhome parking.
