A one-marble world, floating in a giant soup of stars and planets, clustered in donut-shaped galaxies.
What are these humans living for?
In a 5 hour, 4 parts documentary, we try to explore their world, to understand what makes them human, what makes them enslave their kind, destroy their habitat, and be unaware of their place in this universe. But also what makes them so special.
Through the lives of 5 humans, we look at the culture that creates them, their struggles growing up on this planet, and where they are headed toward.
Day 46 of my thru-hike across the Pyrenees Mountains in Spain.
Here I ran out of camping gas and had to eat disgusting uncooked noodles with soy meat and a can of tuna. If only I had bread… In the morning I walked from Lake Respomuso to Sallent de Gállego, where there is a supermarket. I bought more camping gas and a lot of food (didn’t film that part as I was running low on space on my memory card), then I hiked up another mountain to the beautiful Ibones de Anayet.

At first, he started to make a script and put a bunch of footage together, then he scrapped that idea and decided to interview 4 people (Dima, Aaron, Georgi, and me) + himself. Tio came up with all the questions, hoping to present his view of the world through our answers, combining our general knowledge of the world with our life stories.

I think @Tio deserves an oscar for this one! :) The documentary hasn’t been released yet, but I got to view it last night hehehe :D. It is 4 parts, about 5 hours long, and I watched it in one go, staying up until about 6AM and I couldn’t get my eyes off the screen.
I think Tio did an absolutely fantastic job and it’s really hard to believe that this doco was a one-man job. I’ve seen him struggle with this documentary for the past 2-3 years. At first, he started to make a script and put a bunch of footage together, then he scrapped that idea and decided to interview 4 people (Dima, Aaron, Georgi, and me) + himself. Tio came up with all the questions, hoping to present his view of the world through our answers, combining our general knowledge of the world with our life stories.
We spent months filming these interviews (at night with bright lights and a black background- which later made it challenging to edit). After all the filming was done, Tio had dozens of hours of footage, all scattered in different interviews, between 5 different people. Imagine trying to create a story out of that. Little by little he went through the footage and created a story that pins our world and our human society to the backdrop of the universe, combined this cosmic perspective with 5 personal stories, demonstrated how we, humans, are influenced by our environment, and how so much of this environment is permeated by trade. Then he demonstrates some of the immense problems this has caused, and introduces a new idea on how to tackle those problems.
And of course, to make all of this, he used footage from many many documentaries, movies, video clips, etc. Finding the right footage was a huge challenge (he didn’t use any stock footage) + combining all of this with great music + many editing effects, and a lot more. All in all it was a massive challenge and Tio really nailed it. I am so proud of him :)
Can’t wait for TROM II to be released to the public!!!!
Damn that was beautifully written and I can't thank you enough, publicly too haha, for being part of this. Without your contribution there will either be no TROM II or would be a lesser version of TROM II for sure.

I just finished watching it. Did it in 2 days. Totally agree with everything what you said Sasha. It's incredible work! Also liked a lot of your contribution and especially ending and your final phrase. That's a killer! Tio for sure deserved an Oscar.

So guys I started to watch it again tonight :D So basically it's the second time and I watched the first part already and I want to say that I am even more impressed, it's so relaxing to watch, so interesting to see through our stories how the environment shaped us. The first time I also watch it in one go because I couldn't stop hahaa As Sasha said, I can't believe this documentary is a one-man job. I always dreamed of a documentary like this. This is definitely my favorite documentary! I am also proud of you @Tio

Day 44 of my thru-hike across the Pyrenees Mountains!
I started the day at my beautiful camping spot by Rio Ara, hiked up Collado de Brazato, walked past the Ibones de Brazato, then I took the “new variant” of the GR11 (which I’m not sure is an official trail, but it saved me from having to go down to some spa resort and up another mountain). This variant followed some pipes high above the normal trail and took me through a small tunnel. Later I walked past the Bachimaña Refuge and fell while looking at the Bachimaña Lake- because it was so beautiful! Then I set up camp next to Ibon Azul Superior (the “Superior Blue Lake”).

GR11 Thru-hike, Day 42-43: Ordesa Valley - Rio Ara
Day 42-43 of my solo thru-hike across the Pyrenees Mountains!
I woke up to an amazing view of Ordesa Valley, then hiked into the canyon (which was very popular with tourists). On day 42, I camped in the forest across from Camping Valle de Bujaruelo (a camping site with a food shop), then walked up Rio Ara on day 43 and camped in a beautiful spot next to the river.

GR11 Day 41- Collado de Añisclo - Punta de las Olas - Ordesa Valley
Day 41 of my thru-hike across the Pyrenees Mountains!
I started the day on a ridge between Refugio de Pineta and Collado de Añisclo, then I took the GR11.9 and did an extra hike to a peak called Punta de las Olas. Later, I set up camp in a beautiful spot overlooking Ordesa Valley.
GR11 thru-hike, Day 40- Comodoto to High Ridge Camp
Day 40 of my solo thru-hike across the Pyrenees Mountains!
Here I walked from my camping spot (located up the valley from Parzan), climbed a mountain called Comodoto (a short side-trek off the GR11- very much worth it), then to Refugio de la Estiva, down valle de Pineta (a beautiful but touristy valley), and up another mountain. I camped on a ridge next to some piped water on my way to Collado de Añisclo.
Day 38-39 of my thru-hike across the Pyrenees Mountains!
Here I walked from Parzán, past Chisagüés, and found a safe camping spot below the next set of high mountains. Then I took a rest day, waiting out the thunderstorm.

Day 36 of my solo thru-hike across the Pyrenees Mountains!
Here I hiked a variation of the GR11 (the GR11.2) from Torrente Llardaneta to Ibon (lake) Llardaneta, up to Collado de Eriste, then down a beautiful valley. I camped in a forest full of wild strawberries, somewhere between Refugio de Viados and Refugio de Es Plans. Very excited about the berries 😁
I started the day at Cabana de Quillon, got food from a campground shop, then saved myself from the rain at Cabana de Santa Ana. Then all the cows in the world came onto the GR11. I don’t know what was going on there but it smelled really bad! I found camping a bit off the GR11 next to Barranco de la Aigueta (near Ibonet de Batisielles).

GR11 Day 33 – Mountain Lodging VS Bothies vs camping…
Here I walked from Estany Gran (by Refugi d’Anglios), up to Collada de los Ibones (2521m), then past Refugi de Cap de Llauset (mountain lodging) and on to more spectacular mountains and mountain lakes.
Here I walked from Lac de Mar on the HRP, camped by Lac Tort de Rius, then joined back up with the GR11 and walked down to Refugi de Conangles, then camped by Estany de Anglios. (All in Spain).
Here I walked from Estanh Long de Colomers, followed the GR11 trail to Lac Deth, where I swam, camped, and made a satay chicken taco 😄 On day 31 I walked to Lake Restanca and then onto the HRP to Lac de Mar.
