Here's a photo I just took 2 hours ago of the moon with Pixel 4a and some cheap binoculars:

I love this photo because it also showcases what the stages of the Moon are. Just a part of the Moon is illuminated by the Sun from our perspective, but in fact the entire Moon is visible if you are to look closely.

So amazing!

I will try to take more such photos of the moon in perspective with buildings or other "objects". It looks so cool!

In our town there are ping-pong tables for anyone to use. We play sometimes I kinda like it :D. But yah, so cool they should do more of these in public spaces.

Thank you Elias for becoming one of the 200 for TROM! We need 200 people to donate 5 Euros a month in order to support TROM forever. See https://www.tromsite.com/donate/

40 people are donating so far, and hopefully little by little we can achieve this goal. This way we put very little toll on individual donors and make TROM more sustainable, and not rich :).

Towards the end of this month we will do a livestream about our plans for the next year. Stay tuned!

VideoNeat now has a Randomizer page https://www.videoneat.com/randomizer/ - in case you do not know what documentary to watch, use the randomizer :). #tromlive

Our Peertube instance https://videos.trom.tf is not for advertising your company and products. Several people tried to take advantage of our instance that accepts science/tech videos in English by uploading promotional videos for their tech-company. No more! All removed!

We will have to focus a lot more on inviting proper creators that are in line with our TROM project. We need to grow our Peertube instance and the Peertube ecosystem in general. This is going to be a long journey, but how else can we move away from the giant companies that own the Internet!?

Help out of you can. Help out this direction!

Awesome sunset. I am impressed how the Pixel 4a can capture the real colors. Phone that @Aaron gifted me :D. Even brand new it was 3 times cheaper than most high end phones when it was released.

I took this photo in very low light hand-holding my Pixel 4a. We were lucky to see these goats that late at the castle.

Wow amazing. Unheard of. So cool. Yah dudes, it is happening, just wait for it.

Historic, unprecedented, unreal. Un-beli-vable.

Beautiful, my friend 🥰

Much respect for @Dima - videos.trom.tf/w/t6WMuqkdS5wAy… - he continues to do these really well made and important videos. It is important to highlight the so many volunteers who are trying to fix the natural world, as much as they can.

I have updated my Photo gallery on my website tiotrom.com/photos/ if anyone is curious. These are the best photos I have taken so far.

For example this is not a fire, or exaggerated. It is how the clouds looked one day:

wow man really cool photos there 😃 BTW, is that a bear chilling on a rock I see? I have no idea how you took that picture 😄
in reply to Rokosun

thanks! well that bear is actually in a zoo-like enclosure where you can go with your car and see them. Not the best environment for wild animals....but I liked that photo....

Take the telescope phone mount and attach it to the binoculars, and then you can take some cool shots with your phone :). Mind you these are tiny binoculars that we got from someone, not some pro-ones.

Here's a photo that's quite nice on its own:

Now point your binocular setup here:

And you get this:

Cool :)

Here's a very cool documentary videoneat.com/documentaries/25… - a massive research center on the ice. 10 years of preparations, scientists from all around the world. No competition, no bullshit. Pure science. Explorers. Thinkers.

That's how we all should be. To go explore, discover, solve problems.

Unfortunately they were there to research the impact that humans have on the climate....so this is not about exploring as much as it is about figuring out how fucked we are when it comes to the changes in climate.

Anyway, this is a great documentary to also showcase the potential that humans have to organize themselves and do a lot of important work, regardless of the tribe they were born into.

Newly added documentary on VideoNeat.com:

Arctic Drift

Rokosun reshared this.

The fact that humans have weapons that are meant to kill their own kind, is a sign of primitivism. It is a sign of a failed society. Regardless if they even use them or not.

If we cannot solve conflicts within our human society without killing other humans, then we are a failure. That, in a situation in which we have more than enough resources to provide everyone with whatever they need and most of what they want.

Shame on humans!

TROM II: A Message to The Aliens (documentary) - https://www.tromsite.com/documentaries/trom2/

Now fully subtitled into Spanish, making it available to many millions of people who only speak spanish. All thanks to the wonderful Rafa and Vicky, and Cesar.

The amount of work to subtitle such a documentary in a professional way is quite intense and these people are doing it without asking anything in return. That's how we all should be. To do the things we feel are important and not worry about how to survive on this planet.

If you want to help us translate the documentary in more languages please contact us. tromsite.com/contact/

Thank you Georgi for becoming one of the 200 for TROM! https://www.tromsite.com/donate/ - There are 39 people who donate 5 Euros a month to support TROM forever. In small steps we may reach the goal eventually.

Mind you we only accept 5 Euros donations and only from 200 people so that we keep it small and sustainable. Please consider becoming one of these wonderful people. Of course, if you can afford it.

This month we will do a live TROM-Cast all about the future plans for the next year. Stay tuned!

Saturn through my Celestron 130 SLT and Pixel 4a:

Not good conditions and Saturn is so difficult to photograph. This is straight out of the phone.

I will get better at this :D
