Due to the unacceptable living conditions of refugees in Greece, in 2016 we accompanied a first aid convoy in the form of our predecessor organisation in Idomeni. The medical assistance we provided to people in need was the inspiration for Medical Volunteers International e.V..
Since then, we have consistently provided medical care at Europe’s external borders and campaigned for fairer health care.

Foldit
Foldit is an online puzzle video game about protein folding. It is part of an experimental research project developed by the University of Washington, Center for Game Science, in collaboration with the UW Department of Biochemistry. The objective of Foldit is to fold the structures of selected proteins as perfectly as possible, using tools provided in the game. The highest scoring solutions are analyzed by researchers, who determine whether or not there is a native structural configuration (native state) that can be applied to relevant proteins in the real world. Scientists can then use these solutions to target and eradicate diseases and create biological innovations. A 2010 paper in the science journal Nature credited Foldit’s 57,000 players with providing useful results that matched or outperformed algorithmically computed solutions.

Some issues with TROMnews that we are trying to fix:
- Some news/items do not link to the original source, but to the excerpt on our TROMnews...only a few do that but it is strange why.
- Some sources are not automatically updated for some reason...so we have to trigger the update manually...this is not great in the long run and we are trying to investigate why....mainly the Photos and FInteresting are not automatically updated. Luckily the News are.
- The Peertube sources cannot display a featured image and that sucks....we do not know what's a way around it but we will try...
As you can see there are still things that need to be fixed, but overall the new TROMnews is a great source of information!
