I’ve been meaning to write this blog for well over a year, and finally managed to get it done:
bigworldsmallsasha.com/2025/12…
It's about my whole journey of writing and publishing my book (all the sweat and tears it took + how much I earned in the end), as well as a few other updates about what I've been doing over the past few years and where we'll likely head next.
Thanks to everyone who's been there for me throughout this journey! I appreciate you all 💛
My Book Release – and Other Ultra-belated Updates
I released my book in 2024 but never got around to writing a blog about it, so here it is— (better late than never, right?) In a nutshell, the book explains my story of traveling around the world for the past 15 or so years with little money (and it …Big World | Small Sasha

Sotres, Asturias: videos.trom.tf/w/7wo6HXbkj86AT…
Sotres is the highest village in the Picos de Europa National Park. A bit tricky to get here on the narrow winding road, but well worth the trip! Sotres is so beautiful that in 2024 it got an award from the princess of Asturias 😄 It's also famous for its blue cheese and is the starting point of some spectacular hiking trails in Picos de Europa.

The Cares Trail, Picos de Europa National Park: videos.trom.tf/w/iyEMCZAfNjNZH…
An amazing pathway carved into towering limestone cliffs high above a turquoise river, connecting two small villages in the mountains of León and Asturias. This trail makes you feel so small, yet contaminated with awe. We found goats, waterfalls, tunnels, and snowy peaks in the distance. A truly spectacular trek.

There's only one thing worse than having too many people in critical positions of power, that don't understand Root Cause Analysis; and that's too many that do, and STILL choose abuse of power.
It's one thing in burning fossil fuels, following a major revolution like the Industrial Revolution. It's another to have a clear path to graduating the burning application, and continuing to burn it, put future generations at risk, for the sake of more profit.
And the longer this continues; the more expendable our species is.

Some photos from another amazing cave in Spain: Cuevas del Aguila, just west of Madrid.
This one looks quite unique as the harder iron-rich rock in the cave is of a much darker, redder color than the bright white speleothems made of calcium carbonate. Well worth the 11 euro tour!
Here is our video about it-

This one's from April in La Guardia de Jaén, Andalusia- videos.trom.tf/w/fwAQqRhVcE3tc…
A very pretty little village with great views and a nice motorhome parking area with free services. The only problem was that a group of men sang loud flamenco music right next to our motorhome as we tried to sleep 😄 So we left to a parking area near the Peñarroya Castle. Made a cheesecake and had a nice time there 🙂

The most amazing cave- videos.trom.tf/w/hNQGWL9YRHyQ2…
The Cave of Nerja, in southern Spain, is absolutely enormous and was inhabited by humans thousands of years ago. Explorers have found cave paintings, human bones, and evidence of cave hyenas living in the cave around the same time as humans. The Nerja Cave also holds the largest stalactite in the world, measuring around 32 meters.
This was such an amazing experience for us, it is hard to show the immensity and uniqueness of this cave in a video or photos. We were also able to get in there for free as they give free tickets away every weekday at 9:30am. cuevadenerja.es/en/

The trail “El Chorro - Las Buitreras Lookout - Convento Peak” is described as “an experience similar to the famous Caminito del Rey without the crowds and the need to get an entrance ticket”... but is that the truth?
Here’s my experience and take on this beautiful 8.2-km loop trail overlooking the El Chorro gorge- videos.trom.tf/w/rohi7CzpDDmBg…

El Caminito del Rey, in the south of Spain, was once considered the most dangerous hike in the world. Now it has been repaired and rebuilt with nice little walkways that give you a spectacular view of the steep and narrow gorge in El Chorro. Well worth a visit! This was one of the most amazing places we came across while traveling Spain in our motorhome.

Gobantes, Málaga, on our way to the famous Caminito del Rey hike in the south of Spain: videos.trom.tf/w/j5wZUdhrLwhLc…
We found some amazing places to park our motorhome, but one spot was very tricky to get out of. This was the biggest challenge for our Tortuga (motorhome) so far 😁
We also did the laundry again, bought a lot of groceries for our little fridge, and went for a nice hike around the area.

Here we stayed at Castillo de Setefilla, Andalucia for a few nights and managed to capture the core of the Milky Way: videos.trom.tf/w/h4sbDdKroLKuo…
We also sealed off our motorhome to protect it from water infiltration, and overall spent some 5 amazing days in this beautiful place.

Here we took some photos and timelapses of the night sky using an old phone:

This is in Cerro del Hierro, in the Sierra Morena Natural Park. We stayed here for a few days and were able to capture perhaps our most amazing night-sky timelapse. Us, a bench, and the universe. And we explain how you can do this easily (if you have the right software on your phone).
We were also invaded by goats and I went for a small hike between the beautiful rocks.

Terrible...
(source)
Humans have divided themselves into tribes, groups, beliefs, genders, kinds, colors, etc.. In fact we are all the same, part of the same wonderful story of evolution. Of an universe that evolved into us and many other things.
So far there is little to no sign of intelligence on this planet.

The same is true of yeast however.
Religions are insane but politics is just secular religion.
I think we gain sanity when we stop trying to force unity.
We found a super nice motorhome area with services (including electricity) for 6 euros/night, but getting out of there was a bit tricky:

I also found some donkeys and nice scenery in the hills surrounding Fuente del Arco :)

Llerena, Extremadura, in the rain: videos.trom.tf/w/sDJEbPp1R2g1n…
We had really bad weather for almost all of March this year. In this video we stumbled upon an event called “La Matanza” in Llerena, the south of Spain, but it felt like we were at some Eastern European Christmas markets 😄 Also, @Tio hates crowds and can't indulge in cheese and wine, so these kinds of events are not for him ☺️
