Although I have to give up the TROMjaro Classic since it is too much work for me, the TROMjaro Modern (or the default one) will come with a proper APPS menu + WebApps integration, so anyone can make a webapp in seconds. Plus online integration with the menu so you can search for online videos, locations on the maps, download files, news, wikipedia, and so forth. All via our trom.tf services! #tromlive

I just released the last TROMjaro Beta. I hope the next one will be non-beta. forum.tromjaro.com/t/tromjaro-…

I really love TROMjaro. It is getting better and better. Thanks a to to @Future is FOSS who is helping a lot with a bunch of things, like custom scripts or testing it. Such a great human! Also thanks to @Alexio who mirrors our ISOs in multiple locations!

I have 80 new apps on the "to add" list to our library at tromjaro.com but I'd like for us to make custom icons for these too, like we did for them all, so that we also expand the Zafir icons theme more....but who can help with that!? Maybe I'll start to make some. Will see.... #tromlive

I didnt think that 32GB of RAM + 36GB of swap, wont be enough for my needs.....but it seems I max them out pretty quickly. Kdenlive eats around 20GB of RAM....when I work on TROM II. Plus a lot of other stuff I am doing....interesting...is software getting too bloated for our needs? Wasn't I working on the first TROM documentary with 512MB of RAM? And also just doing computer stuff with that...We have better computers nowadays but is the software worse? Plus websites and all that? Interesting... #tromlive

Dealing with themes (change them, understand them) forum.tromjaro.com/t/dealing-w…

A big post I made about the state of themes on Linux, and how we do it on TROMjaro. I argue far better than most. #tromlive

Super cool video and wonderful story :)

@Dima made a cool video about my octopus experience :D -

videos.trom.tf/w/svf9xeAmkEzgz…

Here I explain the story of how I met and started interacting with these octopuses :)
See my blog for more details: bigworldsmallsasha.com/2021/04…

These days the water temperature is about 14-15 degrees, but I'm still going in there to interact with these octopuses :D Yesterday I found a very friendly one who chased me around the bay. I'll see if I can film him :)

Big thanks to Dima for the video :)

True. They do it for years. But difference is that it was « in-game » currency, so you could buy other skins or in-game goods if you sold something. There were some black markets ofc, where people converted their in-game bucks to real value, but it wasn’t easy and some platforms are not trustworthy at all.

Now with NFT you can sold that shit for real crypto and potentially have good real money easier with support of giant companies, which ofc will take their interest from each transaction.

in reply to Tio

Agreed, there’s nothing new, again. But I kinda was kicked in the butt observing how every single good idea can is turned into trading hell. The games, which use that trading, can be dumb as hell, stupid shooters or whatever, in the same time having so much potential in education, for example. So you are not a gamer anymore, you are a fuckin’ trader!

Seriously, these guys can turn anything into fuckin’ dipshit market, lol 😅

in reply to Tio

Anyways, I totally with you on all of that.. The digital world, being so good platform to actually create abundance of things for everyone and share them, since copying stuff is matter of two clicks, now becomes another archaic market thing, which allows a bunch people to make even more money out of nothing, instead of using it to make life better for all people.

So it took around 6h to render 1h. That's ok I guess. We watched the first part and I like it so far. It is hard to judge to be honest, after seeing it so many times while editing it. But I guess is ok. :)

Now I'll have to figure if I will continue with the same kdenlive project or start a new one. Now Kndelive takes about 2 or so hours to open. I'd like to use the same project since all of the files are there, but if it takes so long to open it is a pain in the ass and I'm also concerned at one point it may not open at all...I'll se... #tromlive

"New Chinese toilet paper dispenser requires you to watch a 30 second ad before it gives you toilet paper, and it only gives you about 3 per ad. Spotted in Guangdong province." teddit.net/r/assholedesign/com…

This is reddit so idk if this is 100% true, but I won't be surprised if it is. The trade game. Money is not the problem, trade is. And this message is becoming more and more powerful and important the more we "advance" as a society, where humans will implement a lot more trades that are not based on money. Same shit, different flavors. (pun intended).

Oh wow finally all of my files finished backing up to the online place :) . Millions of files. Awesome! From now on its only job is to sync all of my files to the cloud. So all of my files are now backed-up locally on a hard drive, then to another online location independent of any of our servers. Great!

I was also able to work on TROM II today a little bit. I am still not 100% done with the first part. Need to improve a few things here and there. Hopefully tomorrow I will work all day on it. Who knows, I may even finish it entirely tomorrow. It is not that much to do.

Then I have to decide if I wanna continue the project in the same Kdenlive one or create a separate Kdenlive project. It is already taking around 1h to open the project. So I'll have to think deep and well about it! #tromlive

I updated some stuff for tromjaro.com/ homepage to reflect the latest changes to TROMjaro. Had to record again a bunch of videos and such. But I think is worth it. Looks great! For example the laptop slider we have there, that showcases the wallpapers we use, now allows you to click any wallpaper and download in full resolution. From now on I plan to make a bunch of tutorials about a bunch of things TROMjaro related ;) and post them on the forum ofc.

I went to the museum today. Actually to two of them, in Barcelona. Very nice. Science museums of course. I am blown away by the diversity of creatures that are on this planet or have been. Look at this motherfucker - an elephant with a big tooth or lip whatever that is. Never saw that before:

It looks like is not real....

Anyway, tomorrow I am getting back to work on TROM II if nothing odd happens to the Kdenlive project...I will also share new sources for TROMjaro and TROM files downloads. So that you can grab our files from yet another reliable location. Speaking of that I am almost done with the online backups :D . Feels so great! I am so happy we can backup all of our files online too. Such a relief. #tromlive

Not all is nice and dandy with linux+xfce. XFCE is really great, but on my laptop (having Nvidia) my TROMjaro crashes every 2 or so days to the point of no return. I have to manually shut it down from the button. No TTY working. That's a super duper bad bug. :(

Especially when you work on a multi hour and massive documentary, while at the same time I may build a new tromjaro ISO, have so many projects, emails, millions of files to sync...it is a disaster.

It is not linux or xfce's fault, but nvidia or other manufacturers that do not provide proper support for their hardware. Same tromjaro works perfectly fine on other laptops I am testing.

So let's see. I reported the bug here gitlab.xfce.org/xfce/xfwm4/-/i…

Trying some of the tips the devs recommended. #tromlive

Yeah, this is an interesting perspective, because I think all OSes suck and have nasty bugs, not just linux. And you probably would've seen more windows bugs than most people since you were the "windows repair guy", haha. TBH, I haven't used windows for that long so I'm more familiar with linux, and all the time I did use windows was just watching movies and stuff, I didn't really did much on it.
