These days I was "derailed" from the documentary work. I have some minor issues with my head holes (ears) and what bothers me the most is waking up early in the morning to go to the hospital. But also we have to deal with the paperwork for Sasha.....so my sleeping schedule got fucked up severely and I struggle to do the color-correcting for the documentary.
It is what it is. I will try to work more these days to see how it goes. I did a bunch of improvements but I'd like to do more. #tromstuff

Part 4, the last part, of the TROM II documentary is done! Finally! I still have to check the final render tomorrow but that's only for video purposes to make sure all looks good. I struggled with this part a lot. I hope it makes sense and it is not boring.
I also realized that some interviews look kinda red-in-the-face and some yellow :D . And I may have to take a few days to fix that for all of the parts.
Let's see....
But yeah the documentary is done, except for what I just said.
I really hope the color-fixing won't drive me crazy, but I will do my best to be done in just a few days time. Then send it to all who were part of the documentary. Let's see how it goes....
My laptop also freezes for the past weeks, randomly, when I work on the documentary. I hope it won't go nuts now....maybe be software related, may be hardware although I cleaned it recently...

Let me tell you that working on TROM II and having to find specific videos about say some tech, some places, etc. on youtube to grab some footage, was a complete misery. Not only that Youtube is full of crap, like entirely full of garbage videos created for views, many times by automated software, but Youtube also pushes these short videos they originally call "shorts".
Overall it was easier and saner 10 years ago when I made the first TROM to find footage. Today, with all of the "smartphones" and "4k 8k" kkk, you can barely find real and good quality footage.
Insane. Idiotic society humans have created

From my tests these "AI"s are terrible. Very wrong, fed from the same BS advertising and SEO nonsense....
It is true search engines are ad-driven search engines. Everyone is competing to have their own shit rank high to get more clicks, more views, more currency.

Fast and Furious I finished 45 minutes for part 3 of TROM II. Yummy fast :) - some 15 minutes left but I may have to add some 5-7 minutes more to the mix from some leftover footage....In any case I am quite sure I'll finish it this week. Maybe even tomorrow if I am in beast-mode.
Kdenlive has a weird bug with the text tool that makes the entire Kdenlive project freeze. And you can only kill that process and restart it over again. Kinda pissed me off today :D. Crashed at least 20-30 times on me. I could report it but I don't even have time for that now, I work work work.

The second part, the huge one, of the TROM II documentary is done! Man that was a lot of work to fix/improve some stuff.
I can't fit the entire timeline in one screenshot but here it is:
Could it be better? Of course. Will I work more on it? Of course not. :)
2 more parts left. And these ones, from what I remember, are a lot less work. They are together as lenghty as this second part so there is a good chance I am done with them all in less than 10 days.
Excited to be done with it!

The biggest downside of Kdenlive is that it does not use the GPU...if you apply any effect to any video, bye bye GPU, it only uses the CPU. This is like trying to climb a hill on a bicycle vs with a motorize vehicle if you were to use the GPU. This is something that will make anyone who does more serious video editing to never use or even try Kdenlive. Using the CPU + proxy clips is fine in Kdenlive, all smooth. But when you export....it takes a long long time.
Despite this I have used Kdenlive for the entire TROM II documentary, over 5h long, and generally it is very good and stable. If they were to implement the GPU usage then it would be a great video editor.

A new TROMjaro ISO is out forum.tromjaro.com/t/tromjaro-… - with a few minor fixes and a lot of updates coming from Manjaro's Stable. I love it when we do not have to do anything new to TROMjaro. It just works and that's it. Functional, user friendly, and I'd say beautiful :).
Also, how wonderful that now we are not blasted with spam-accounts on our Peertube instance. A simple solution I asked Peertube for, improved the situation immensely. A simple form when registering forcing everyone to say why they want to join. And their accounts are held for approval. This way I can filter out most spambots. Beautiful!

AI needs a babysitter for it to work properly, lol 😄
But jokes aside, if AI is helping you do a task faster or better then great. In that case the biggest issue here IMO is how these AI programs are made proprietary and is in the control of a few big tech companies whose sole aim is to make profit for themselves.

50% of TROM II, second part, done :). This part is the biggest and probably the hardest to finish the editing for. But in just 2 days I checked and fixed 50 minutes. This is much faster than I expected. But I worked like a motherfucker these past days. Maybe I'll take it easier tomorrow.
We've also git a really nice feedback for TROMjaro - see this forum.tromjaro.com/t/introduct… from this very nice human.
So happy about that! #tromlive

Hit pause on AI development, Elon Musk and others urge
Cool....
Now call these as statistical software and maybe people won't be as scared. These "AI"s are dangerous because people are using them to create fake accounts, stupid online content, and scams. All in the name of? TRAAAADE, you guessed it! Good job!
That's the issue, not them taking over bloody humanity.
Regardless of what tech we invent, the trade environment will make humans use the tech for trade purposes, thus creating a big pile of shit behind them.
I fail to see why the AI hype....that chatgpt is extremely incorrect, despite "it" being able to provide well written responses. I do see a use of these statistical software that rely on large amounts of data, for creative work such as video effects, photo manipulation, or on the other hand in coding. Or, if used only in limited environments - like imagine one that only works with Wikipedia and sources its sources.
But yeah. Bloody AI hype...
