Is Russia going nuke?

Putin's best card is one he can play at any time ... simply take his ball and go home. This means admitting that the Russian military is kaput as a world leader, but at this point all of his potential allies or flunkies have already come to that conclusion.

So, really, what has Putin got to lose by just ending the war, including giving up Crimea? It's a bitter pill, but that pill has already been shoved halfway down his throat.

I know there's all this talk of how Putin's regime will collapse and/or break apart if Putin doesn't keep up the appearances of invincible military strength, but he's got powerful internal security institutions ... he'll probably stay on top. His chances that route are pretty good, probably; much better than if he throws around any nukes. And in any case, any illusions of invincible military strength are moot by now.

Many thanks for the mention and the kind words. We should make more people aware of TROMjaro!

Whoever can afford, please support @Kdenlive kdenlive.org/en/fund/ - I have made a small donations too. They are creating the best video editor that's also trade-free. Wonderful project. Using it fully for the TROM II documentary that will be around 6h long and of course freely available for all.

There is a 4th option: you are a dog that barks and you don't want to say anything. Woof Woof. What was your point, doggy? Try to express yourself so maybe I understand you.

This is the only somewhat non-barking of yours "you... think people fight because of some ideology". To that I can answer: humans fight on this planet because of many reasons, most (if not all) of them are nonsensical/not-necessary based on artificial borders, ideology, lack of resources (despite having a global abundance of stuff), and so forth. Most of the time it is a problem of trade. Here I wrote 2 main books about it:

The Money Game and Beyond tromsite.com/books/#flipbook-d…
The Origin of Most Problems tromsite.com/books/#flipbook-d…

WOOF! :)

Very important! Not just for fancy purposes.

TROMjaro 2022.09.30 (important fix) https://forum.tromjaro.com/t/tromjaro-2022-09-30-important-fix/102

QT apps stopped working...but we provide a fix. Plus we achieved the holly grail :D - we do a better sync now across libraries (gtk and qt) and support font syncing too! Check it out! #tromlive

Wow this is yesterday's DART spacecraft impact on an asteroid, to test if we can change their directory, in case of ... you know, one of them coming towards earth:

The have a video form the spacecraft itself that the Internet is full of, but I like this one better. You can see the impact. Humans should focus on this rather than stupid nothing politics, and football games, and competitions between them, and making money and all that shit...

Politics....something we really don't need. We need a system that cares for humans, at least starting with their basic needs provided to them without any strings attached (trade-free). If politics was meant to be a group of people who can organize society and take such decisions, then .... well....it is for sure not that. It is a way for politicians to get richer, for them to be the puppets of big corporations, for endless fights and empty promises. A nothing game.

We need no politics. We need to take care of people. This will cascade into better behaviors, newer self-organizing organizations that can do a lot of good, and so forth.

Never voted, never will. Never really paid much attention to that circus.

Love these new "AI" that are used for practical stuff such as upscaling images and coloring them. This is an image with me, a very old one:

Quite bad quality.
With trade-free Upscayl (desktop app for Linux) I can make it a better quality:

Finally with palette.fm I can colorize it:

Such a difference!

Upscayl works with your hardware, and I was so surprised it used my Nvidia fully, so it was super fast! palette.fm does not seem to have its code as open source and relies on their own servers for all processing, making that quite slow. Open Source it my friend!

In any case, I like this!

I wish they both can merge and be part of your default Image Viewer as an addon. That'd be super useful!

There are two major issues with our Friendica instance and I suspect they are not limited to our instance: 1. I cannot unfollow anyone... and 2. No RSS feeds work. This makes Friendica very hard for me to use and unreliable. All started since the last update I think. The first issue seems to be fixed for the next release based on this github.com/friendica/friendica… . But the RSS one is still a mystery github.com/friendica/friendica…

@Hypolite Petovan you guys planning to release a stable one this month?

Oh noooo BBC Frozen Planet vertical video ytb.trom.tf/watch?v=VwdwT-Mg1D… - what an atrocity! Vertical videos is the last bit of the retardation-nation. I hope they won't make full documentaries in this format.

Today I updated 3 laptops and a tablet to the latest TROMjaro, using our packages. Some of these laptops were not updated in like half a year. It was not that difficult despite having to add the chaotic aur to 2 of them, and for all to add our new packages. For some it was quite smooth. But things should be far far easier from now on because of our new packages that are basically pushing most of our custom updates directly to people's computers. I love TROMjaro and how stable it has become. Plus how functional.

Lots and lots of work for the so many projects that we have....but now my to-do list is quite skinny. Am going to start the work on TROM II again these days. And continue to work on it .... I hope so.

LUT: Linux Mint 21 (good) videos.trom.tf/w/dHq2G4SY9eAUH…

Finally a distro that does well in terms of usability. Not great. But good. I know these videos may be boring but there is a lot to learn from them. I am testing things that every distro should hard-code into their essence. And it helps me make TROMjaro better.

Linux mint is one of the most stable and reliable distros I've tried so far. It does lack the app availability of AUR, but if you don't install a whole lot of apps then you could find most of what you need here.

And BTW, now you see how flatpaks can take up gigabytes of disk space for a single app. TBF, I've heard that this size issue gets better as you use flatpaks more, but even then for the avarage user its crazy to see such a small app taking GBs of space.

I cannot see any posts from any of my RSS feeds in Friendica for the past month or so. I reported it here github.com/friendica/friendica… - might be a bug. But be aware of that....

If you use TROMjaro but did not implement the Chaotic AUR yet, please do it. It is super easy, see forum.tromjaro.com/t/use-the-c…
