Our Peertube instance videos.trom.tf will become better and better. Here's how:

  • We are enforcing our thematic and thus most BS videos will be removed. So there will be better quality videos.
  • With the new Peertube update we will be able to expand the storage space by a lot, at a cost is true, but we should be able to afford a lot more storage space than we have now, and keep the instance growing.
  • With the new Peertube update we will be able to follow individual users or channels. This is super great. We can finally curate the videos now. We will take the time to unfollow all instances and just follow certain users/channels that post sane content. This way we cna enable again the trending, latest, and such categories, so that others discover new content.

We will try to also find new creators to join our Peertube. This is going to be a long journey I hope, so buckle-up! #tromlive

Through a strategic combination of automation, access, open source, localization & the IoT - you don’t need money/trade. Trade is THE CORE problem System redesign. If there is demand for a guitar it can be facilitated through proper architecture based on democratic principles. twitter.com/robinisthebird…

I may be back on working on TROM II, which is great. Worked some today and will keep on working more tonight. In a few days I will start the removal of the "bad" accounts from our Peertube. And I see that people are still making accounts and post content that does not suit the thematic of our instance, so i may be forced to pre-approve accounts before they can post. Will see. It is definitely a challenge to create a video platform. #tromlive

Next TROMjaro release comes with a new trade-free VPN that works much better and is auto-configured. Plus an RSS Reader that sends notifications when we release a new ISO with the release notes since they are important for all TROMjaro users. And may also come with some web apps based on our trom.tf services. And I want to reorganize the apps in the apps folders. SO far half the work is done. #tromlive

At least if they are going to ban our instance please say:

"We banned this instance because one out of 170 users from that instance, created an event that notified all of his friends and some of these got bothered. Mind you, he created the event in order to test their own instance's custom theme in order to fix it for all of the users, and he does that as a volunteer. Plus, he did not realize that he will send an event to all of his friends, and deleted the event 5 minutes after he created it when he realized that."

And that's the reason we decided to cut ties with this new instance and all of the users from that instance. Now the users from that instance and the users from our instance, cannot contact each other, see their posts, and so forth.

Worth it! :)

!Friendica Admins Peertube wants to add a share to the fediverse button bellow each video, which is awesome. They have added it already for Mastodon and I asked them to add for Friendica too, but they have asked me a technical question if any of you guys can look over here github.com/kimsible/peertube-p… - would be great to have Friendica in the "share" list on Peertube by default. :)

Mastodon support is planned for the next release, do you have the URL sharer scheme for Friendica and Plerom ?

That's what I'm asked.

This is my desk. I have a frame with real photos of the Universe in my face there, to remind me about my place in it. I have this since 2012 or so. First images with exoplanets that humans discovered, some images with galaxies colliding, one with the cosmic background radiation, another with the sun and earth to put in perspective, another with the furthers galaxy (object) ever photographed (as of 201 or so). And a few other gems.

!Tips and Help (social.trom.tf) Hey people, we have added a new cool thing to our TROM Social, the presentation page. Here trom.tf/social/ (scroll down a bit). It is a list of sources we recommend for you to follow on TROM Social. It is as easy as copy paste these sources to your contacts' list. We are adding a lot more so check it out from time to time. The direct link is this trom.tf/social/#rec

Working on adding a section to our Friendica presentation here trom.tf/social/ full of recommended accounts to follow. Lots of RSS sources that are setup by me already so all you have to do is copy the link to your contacts page. I will try to add a bunch of accounts for organizations from the fediverse too. I just want to make it interesting and attractive for people to move to Friendica.

If I manage to move my sister to Friendica, fully, and to make her use facebook a lot less or not use it at all, I'll then declare victory! hahaha. Joking, anyone use whatever they like, but I want to show to people how awesome this social platform can be if you give it a try. #tromlive

Well I wanted to create a clean Manjaro Gnome distro to remove Skype, Microsoft Office, Steam and other such apps that I felt have no place in the Open Source world. Then it evolved from there and I tweaked Firefox to block ads, trackers by default, or sponosred content in youtube videos + make it more usable and remove the nonsense. And in time we added more and more stuff to it, or actually removed. Now it is quite a simple OS, using the core of Manjaro but packaged with the apps we think are relevant and tweaked so that you don t have to trade your data/attention or money to any apps or websites.

We have customized it a bit and so forth. See the main website, the front page explains what it is about.

I have tested many RSS Readers, and there are some great ones, but Friendica also acts as one and does a fantastic job at. This was one of the features that convinced me to move form Mastodon to Friendica. The fact that I can follow anyone on the fediverse + any RSS feed....is just too good! I keep on saying this, but Friendica is really underrated. #tromlive

@Hypolite Petovan We carried out an empirical experimentation on rss feeds and we drew some conclusions.
The problem of the very heavy slowdown of the system was probably due to a trivial problem!
Since I had set the search on the feeds once or twice a day (instead of frequently, convinced that this was the best way not to burden the system 🤓), the system created some processing "queues" that slowed down the whole publishing mechanism: some Sometimes, from Mastodon, I saw friendica's messages only after one or more hours of publication! 😭
When we reset everything to "frequently" the problem disappeared... 🤣
