It is very difficult. I tried that but we use Jitsi Meet for the call + OBS for the streaming. And Jitsi does not have such an option. And usually people may join while the live goes on so if I add the names manually near each window then that won't work. We tried a lot believe me and I can't seem to find a solution. I'll make sure form now on I will ask everyone to say who they are before we start the show :).
heh bless your soul that's actually something that may work, and I'm very familiar with CSS so I can tweak it any way I want. I'll for sure try that for the next TROMcast. Love the idea, and I thought about something similar but didn't know I can also "inspect" the Jitsi Meet app, since I do not use it in the browser for the live.

Thank you for the compliment, I just took a cheap shot at FOSS's general lack of diversity, but I would be on board to participate in that project! However, I wouldn't be able to contribute much more than my likeness as I'm utterly incapable of producing a video. I'll act anything but that's pretty much the extent of my abilities.

Damn the second shot of Moderna hit me like a modern train. At first I only felt pain in my arm where the shot was made, like the last time, and I was like "oh that's not a big deal". After some 8 hours I decide to go to sleep. 5 minutes after I got into bed I start to shake/shiver uncontrollably haha. Like I never experience this before to shiver so bad that you can't control yourself. Even the bed was shaking. It was like that 1973 movie, The Exorcist.
I started to get so cold I managed to put a few layers of clothes on me and another blanket to cover my robotic-shaking body. My body started to hurt and I woke up like ever 5 minutes. I am exhausted. My head hurts, my body hurts.
So yah I do not recommend for people to get vaccinated!
Just joking! You must be a moron not to. Getting COVID is way worse and when you body reacts the way mine did after the second shot, it simply means the vaccine is working. It triggered the immune system. So today and maybe tomorrow too, I will be around but I don't think I can work on any TROM projects....the suffering is fading away tho....
Just got my second COVID vaccine shot and I think people should be extremely angry at the transportation system if they want to pour their frustration somewhere. The vaccine took 10s. Had to wait 10 minutes after the shot and almost no minutes before (it was well organized - went there, got the shot). But it took us 1h 30 min to drive some 30km. Traffic jam. Slow as fuck. Tiring. Such an outdated system to allow everyone to drive a metal box on wheels. And all of these boxes are not eve the same - tons of models, new coming out every month or so. In truth all are the same, just different colors and design changes mostly. Such a retardation. And oh, it is also dangerous to be in a car...
So yah, if these morons worry about vaccines, but not about the transportation system, they are completely lost. Primitive world. #tromlive
Ok so yah happy with what I managed to do today for TROM II. Kdenlive can be very powerful if you take the time to learn how to use it. This is what I've done so far:
Lots and lots of tiny parts, music, sound effects, video effects, and so on. 33 minutes. I have another 25 minutes that are done, script-wise (like the talking heads, us, and the story we tell). I am working to video edit that and make it interesting. It may take me a few weeks to do that. But I will be super duper happy after I am done with the first hour of the documentary!
Of course there is a lot more to do. But will do! #tromlive
Managed to work a bit more to TROM II today. Need to figure some editing stuff these days so once I'm kinda good with that should be smoother. I am not rushing. I have a lot of things to do. I also love how well ytb.trom.tf works now without anti-captcha. Wonderful! I cannot use youtube without that.
Also @Sasha will be back in less than a week. Exited for that, and excited to read her book. I have the privilege to read it before anyone else :D .
And here's a video I saw on TROM curated videos ytb.trom.tf/watch?v=G1TMN_cq63… - sounds, in part, like he either heard of TROM or arrived at similar conclusions. I think the guy was from TZM or something. In any case, nice video. I'd like to see many like this, talking about trade as the origin of most problems.
This is what we are going to do to deal with our Peertube instance:
Attention: this instance is solely dedicated to science/technology/nature videos in the English language, and it was so from the beginning. Even the activism/education needs to fall into these categories. Anything else will be removed with a 1 month noticed. Starting next month we will begin the monthly purge of accounts that did not respect our instance's categories. These rules will not be very strict, but users that mostly post pseudoscience, politics, porn, movies, and such, are going to be removed.
These "creators" fighting to "reach people" on a "video platform". Or, in other words, these "charlatans" fighting to "fool people into watching their videos so that they can make more money and become more popular" on an "ad platform".
These ridiculous situations would not exist in a society that moved away from trade by making it obsolete. If you make any kind of content, you just make it and it will be available to whoever follows you. Simple. And if people want to discover other kinds of videos, that are similar, then you can have algorithms that can simply do that, but without these algorithms being charlatans and wanting to keep you sucked into their platform.
Take Peertube, the honest video platform. You upload there and all of your subscribers get a notification when you post something new. Easy. No BS algorithm to try and make as much money for the platform or the creator

I swear humans have lost it completely. Obsessed with views, counts, comments, profits, likes....those were supposed to be a measure of value, but now they have become THE VALUE most are seeking for.
I am so sick of this nonsense and these prostitutes. I think Veritasium should use his clickbait title "This is why we can't have nice things" for this last video of his. Cause it makes better sense.
Even if he is right a little bit and says he has to play the game to reach more people with his more-scientific content, he completely ignores the side effects of such a platform/system/approach. How this approach encourages shitty videos overall, and keeps people locked into a deep state of confusion and misrepresentation of reality. It incentivizes youtube to keep users locked into their platform and feeds them wherever clickbait works best for views, and makes most creators work more on the title and thumbnail than the videos themselves. Even Veritasium says 50% of the work is in the title and the thumbnail. This is the same exact story of movies that invest so much into trailers and posters (clickbait to watch the movies), books that do so with the promotion and the book cover, games and so forth.
Same shit Veritasium. But you are biased since you use that platform and such tactics so of course you'll try to make it look like it is "no harm". Bad. Bad. Bad.
We have talked about these for a while now. It is the same culprit: our trade based society. This society makes humans chase numbers like drug addicts chasing heroin. And nothing else matters anymore. We. Are. Fucked. #tromlive

I just realized KeePassXC supports 2 factor authentication....damn....that's really cool. Like I can save a website's credentials then 2FA for that website. No need to use 2 tools for that. It is called TOTP. Right click in KeePassXC on the website for which you want to add 2FA, and select TOTP - Setup. Now add the secret key that was generate for the service you want to setup 2FA. As simple as that. When you then login and it asks you for 2FA, go to KeePassXC and right click again on the website in your list, TOTP - Copy. That's all. Simple as fuck. soooo happy that I discovered this.
I truly recommend to everyone to setup 2FA for websites/services.
you want to use separate keepass databases though. Otherwise your userid, password, and authenticator are all in one place making it 1 factor authentication. I heard one of the KeepassXC devs explain it that way once
I've read that but this is better than not having 2FA. Having all in 1 database is ok considering that database is encrypted and local. For usability reasons I may leave it as such.

Damn kdnelive....so Kdenlive got an update and made past projects not quite compatible with the new version....and some of the videos in my kdenlive are messed up. Tried to fix it and debug....but need to check it all. I mean I can fix it, it will take me 1-2 hours, but this is scary....becuase I work on a many hours documentary with thousands of clips. If it messes up with the project like that then....do I need to check it all? All the time? idk...not good....
But I started with Kdenlive so I will continue. It also takes 10-15 minutes for the project to open now. Sucks...

Here's another idea about how we can deal with our Peertube instance that's invaded by idiots. Mind you, I really want to keep it trade-free. meaning, you should not give us anything in order to use it. Not your data, your freedom, your money and so forth.
My idea is to make it thematic. Like Peertube was intended to be. Theme: Science and Technology. A trade-free video platform for science and technology videos. This way we keep it trade-free and honest. And the moderation would be much easier. Conspiracy videos, politics, porn, movies, all will be removed since they do not fit on our instance. We can extend it to: Science, Technology, and Nature. So that people can post an array of saner videos.
This way we make our instance saner, free-up a lot of space, and so forth. #tromlive
I insisted with that invidious issue and contacted the dev and such, so now they managed to look closely and identify the issue. Soon invidious should work again. See? Although I do not have the skills to help them code-wise, I can still be of a great help to report these problems to them. Anyone can do that. #tromlive
