Had no idea such amazing extension exists and makes watching youtube videos finally ad free. You bet in the next TROMjaro release it will come pre-loaded with Firefox and properly setup.

Not surprising. As predicted. Cars will follow the same path as phones....they will become more and more "smart". Meaning, they add mostly useless features but will allow them to sell way more cars because it is way easier to come up with "digital" features (different led lights inside that you can change via the dashboard, different driving styles, all kinds of maps or auto-parking, and so forth), than it is to do something to the hardware part of it (the physical car).

On top of that they can control the car: buy premium addons/features; do not pay, we shut down the car; insert ads; and so forth.

I don't care the reasons, this is not ok at all. What's next? Install a CCTV in all of your rooms that ONLY detect if you are abusing your children, then send the video to authorities!? !Friendica Admins I know there have been discussions about a chat on github, but I do not see those updated in years. A chat (one to one), would be super great. DMs are great but that0s similar to email. Can't you make DMs load dynamically to give the impression of a chat? Or are the messages sent too slow to make that look like a chat?

IDK am thinking a chat is what is missing from Friendica, but I guess it is very hard to implement that. Just wanted to check with you guys.

Done some work on TROM II today. Still more to do to finish this part. See bellow. The red boxes are parts I've managed to select/cut and merge together to create a story out of them. The red lines are parts that I still have to edit and cut and merge them together somehow, and with the other two finished parts. Then the two boxes need to be connected somehow and I have to add music and lots of other footage on top of them to showcase the visual aspect of it.

And then I need to take the remaining parts (this big red box bellow) and merge them together and insert in between or at the end of the above work. This is a big red box but lots of spaces in-between :).

After I created the poll about maybe moderating videos.trom.tf/ and added some messages about asking people to not abuse our platform with conspiracy crap, plus after I created a new homepage and front and center is a documentary on the frontpage about the crazy antivaxxers, seems like little to no crap content was uploaded to our instance. What if it works this way? To stop them from uploading in the first place rather than wait for them to upload and then remove their content!?

What if it works to annoy them by making scientific content, and some that debunks their beliefs, front-and-center on our instance?

Oh wow so they managed to get 319 terabits/second—across more than 3000 km. This sounds insane. Would it be possible in the future to get such insane speeds for most connections? Well...I remember the old internet when i was downloading movies with 25Kb/s....and now you get 25Mb/s easily. But yah, they are using an extreme setup there to achieve these speeds. idk what I have done to my Friendica but it shows a 502 Bad Gateway nginx error quite often....I added a few RSS sources from Reddit and that seemed to have messed it up but I don't understand what. I removed them since...

The nginx error logs show stuff like 2021/08/02 07:05:57 [error] 2732#2732: *1092 upstream timed out (110: Connection timed out) while reading response header from upstream, client: ******, server: social.trom.tf, request: "GET /ping?format=json&uid=22&_=1627677955767 HTTP/2.0", upstream: "fastcgi://unix:/var/run/php/php7.3-fpm-friendica.sock", host: "social.trom.tf", referrer: "https://social.trom.tf/network"

Didn't sleep trying to figure it out so am tired sorry for the messy message.

Basically now loads fine for a few minutes, then loads very slow to the point of nginx giving up as explained above. If any of you has any idea what I should try let me know. Gonna have some sleep now, not good to work on such things when you are zombie tired, you may mess things up more.

EDIT: Seems to work better now after restarting the php-fpm...but I'll have to go to sleep...problem with Friendica (social.trom.tf) is that the database is so large I cannot restore it with yunohost...nginx fails (times out...). Anyways I hope will be ok. Will look more into it tomorrow. #tromlive
