By the end of this year we will close down musikwave.com/ . The website is not updated in years and may not work properly anymore. We will redirect/link to a post where we showcase better alternatives to listen to music for free, don't worry. Please save your music collection. We will better use that hosting money to improve our tromsite.com server that is reaching its limits quite often now. #tromlive

Huge thank you to the people who are still supporting us financially! If anyone can support us please see tromsite.com/donate/

We are furiously working on a new TROMjaro Linux based on XFCE so that our linux distribution will become more stable, much faster, and we are adding new cool features to it. We have a scheduled podcast with Cory Doctorow, we work on the TROM II documentary, we keep videoneat.com and all of the other projects up to date and relevant. We provide a lot of trade-free services at trom.tf, and so forth.

If you think that what we do is worth helping, please consider a donation so we can keep paying for our servers and keep ourselves afloat.

Thanks!

In our world there is a big misunderstanding about efficiency. Since our society is based on trade, things will be done by whatever is cost efficient and not resource efficient or technical efficient. That means apples are grown in New Zealand and shipped to Germany for example. Soy is grown in Brazil then shipped to Germany to feed pigs and that meat is then exported into other tribes. This and so many other trades lead to a world wide frenzy which distorts people's values and destroys the environment.

Let's learn about the story behind some products that we are all familiar with and that many of us have on a daily basis.

On 14th of October we are happy to have Cory Doctorow on TROMcast. We will discuss the online trades: data, attention, views, likes, and so forth. And the monopolies and consequences that revolve around it all.

"Cory is a Canadian-British blogger, journalist, and science fiction author who served as co-editor of the blog Boing Boing. He is an activist in favour of liberalising copyright laws and a proponent of the Creative Commons organization, using some of their licences for his books. Some common themes of his work include digital rights management, file sharing, and post-scarcity economics."

What Is Trade Free? Interview with Tio from Tromsite.com

Unfortunately you have to trade your attention (ads) to listen to it (a bit ironical), but hey it is great that we can get to talk about these ideas with new minds. Thank you Joey for the invitation and for the good questions.

We are releasing TROMjaro XFCE Aplha 2 for testing, if anyone is interested.

We did a bunch of improvements for workspaces, global menus + maximized windows, backups, the default apps and how they work, sessions and more. If you think MacOS or Windows are cool, check out TROMjaro XFCE hehe :). And it is trade-free!

See our updates here tromjaro.com/tromjaro-xfce-alpโ€ฆ

You can grab the ISO from there. #tromlive

We are releasing a new and different TROMJaro and we need people to test it. We want to give up Gnome and move to XFCE. Read more about it here tromjaro.com/tromjaro-xfce-alpโ€ฆ where you can also find the test ISO.

Basically it looks similar to the TROMjaro Gnome, but should be much faster, well built, has global menus, HUD, and more awesome stuff. Please give it a try and tell us what you think! #tromlive

We understand that, but we can't be so strict about the trade-free idea else we won't find much software out there that's trade-free. Licenses do add a limitation (a trade) to those who want to modify the software, such as you mentioned. Some ask you to give credit to the source project if you fork it, and so forth. I'd like to see these licenses being dropped and simply allow anyone use the software as they wish, although I fully understand it can be abused by corporations especially. But our "movement" is more about the "educational" aspect of it. Plus, we can filter out a lot of crapware, freeware, and the like, via this trade-free label.

Our latest TROM-Cast about Nudity is up link.trom.tf/fE2wF

Unfortunately we got a lot of issues. First that of sound. I forgot that I messed around with OBS these past days and I removed the input sound module for my computer from OBS. So I had to fix it live....then the connection to @Cleo of Topless Topics was not that great via Jitsi. I suspect is because the Jitsi instance we have used was hosted closer to us than to her, so her video quality was not that great + she interrupted a bunch of times. We did lots of tromcasts with people from all around the world but the connection was never as bad.

Lastly our live interrupted 2 times....and I have to investigate why. I have no clue at the moment. Maybe Peertube is too buggy when it comes to lives. I will test the live before our next TROMcast. Luckily I have recorded everything locally so all is saved.

Give it a bit of time to convert so you can stream it properTHank you to @Cleo of Topless Topics for participating! Very interesting discussion!

"Until the Great Depression of the 1930s, holders of dollars could in theory trade in their cash for gold stored in the US federal vaults. In 1971, US President Richard Nixon unlinked the dollar to gold, turning it into a fiat currency. At the time an ounce of gold was worth $35. Today, the price is $1,920.80."๐Ÿ’โ€โ™‚๏ธ

Our files.trom.tf is fully encrypted since 2 or so months ago. Now all of your files cannot be read/watched by anyone except you. Not even us who own the server, cannot do that. We can only see your hosted filesโ€™ names, and their metadata (when it was uploaded/edited, or what is the size of your file), plus we can see the structure of your folders. However we are unable to open any file to see its contents: videos, documents, photos, you name it, we are unable to preview any of these files even if we wanted to.

So take advantage of that! 5GB of free storage + Only Office included + more. Read more about it here trom.tf/files/

And access it here files.trom.tf
