Actually S. had a lot of issues donating since his Mastercard refused the donation. After weeks of trying to figure out what is the issue he finally went to the bank and asked to allow for European payments. And then it all worked fine.
A few people tried to donate to our campaign using Mastercards and the donations failed. Now we know why. Some banks refuse these sorts of payments. If you can, please go talk to your bank to unblock these payments.

In the summer I was in a tiny Italian island Lampedusa. It's right next to the Tunisia and it have very important Turtle Rescue Center. Unfortunately it was closed because of the scam of the person who was managing the premises. This video is my story about Daniela and what happened with the rescue center. I was there filming video episode for Equestrio Foundation who was supporting and funding Lampedusas Turte Rescue center for several years. And they kindly allowed me to make and publish my own video about this situation.

We will try to get new creators to our instance videos.trom.tf from now on, because what we lack is content. Everyone flocks to Youtube because "everyone is there" and youtube allows them to make money off of their videos (a very bad incentive). Even the people who complain about how there is no online privacy anymore, and hate ads and data collection (basically hate these online trades and their side effects), are still in a bondage relationship with these monsters. They are enslaved to them. But they and us, have to find the willpower to ditch the old world and create the new one, be it online or offline.
Be brave people, have the guts, and prioritize Peertube over Youtube! Else we cannot change anything....
We recently released a 5 hours documentary exclusively on Peertube. See videos.trom.tf/w/p/fVpfZ9VfWrWโฆ . The diskspace is quite cheap nowadays plus you can host it locally on your computer via Yunohost. We run Peertube plus several other services (nextcloud, matrix, and so forth) via trom.tf with around 40 Euros a month for unlimited bandwidth and some 4TB of SSD storage. We have thousands of videos on our Peertube instance and overall thousands of people use our services

We have removed Paypal from our donation options for our 200 for TROM campaign tromsite.com/donate/ because it was not working properly and because Paypal was not supporting recurring donations without a card anyway, therefore you were still forced to use a card for creating a donation. Therefore we are now relying one Stripe for the donations, which works perfectly fine. Anyone who has a credit card can donate to our ongoing campaign.
Those who are still donating through Paypal can still donate, so no worries about that. But if you can switch to Stripe it would be more reliable. Simple log in to tromsite.com/access and under the Donor Dashboard change the payment option. In case you need help contact us via tromsite.com/contact/

This insanity can be easily understood and predicted if we understand this trade-based society where everyone is forced and incentivized to trade. Every piece of technology will be used for trade purposes. In the process a lot of waste and idiots are being created. Unfortunately.
It is all about trading this for that. This gives rise to consumption, to privacy invasive devices, to pollution and slavery, to what many call as capitalism. But the word "capitalism" gives too much credit to this primitive society where the main practice is that of trade. This is why we avoid to use that term in our TROM materials. It is deceptive and loaded with preconceptions.

The fact that people were asking her out means that they didn't disclose she was an AI generated image, so it's possible people started following her thinking she's a real person.
This is not an isolated case. I do not remember the exact documentary on VN about this, but should be there :). People follow these "AI models" even when they are told they are AI Models. Maybe the people you mention were not aware these were Ai Models.
I went to this unique celebration in Czech Republic. Event took a place in small village of Kujavy. I think it's a brilliant idea to plant a tree for every person in the country.

You do not have to build houses for others in return for some clothes and food, you will get a currency in return for your work. In time humans started to lose track of what is really happening in this society of trade and then believed that they work for the currency itself. Like you work for money. Despite the fact that not a single human works for money, they work for what money gets them (food, comfort, access, power, etc..).
Therefore, from economists to regular workers, journalists or historians, everyone got tricked and confused by the ways the trade practice mutated over the past thousands of years.
Nowadays it is even more confusing because one can trade their attention (watch ads) in return for accessing some digital content. Or agree to let their data being mined in return for other services. Therefore a currency is often not needed, but the practice of trade is the same as it was 10.000 years ago.
So today humans somehow think that if something does not cost money (or other currencies) that something is FREE. This is almost like saying that someone is not dead unless it has a death certificate.
If we were to understand this simple fact of life, we could cut through a lot of the crap that is raining down in today's society. We could easily ask the question: What Am I Trading? Like: what do I have to give in return for using Facebook?
And the answer is simple: you need to give them your attention (watch ads), your data, and your currency to either pay to reach your followers and so forth, or pay for a monthly ads-free experiencing.
As you can see in no scenario Facebook is free. NONE.
This is what TROM is trying so hard to make visible: the invisible part of our society. The fact that TRADE is at the core of how this society works, and how this force of trade is making us all complete jerks, charlatans, and abusers. We need to understand what the problem is, in order to come up with any solution.
Video and Music, two pieces of media almost entirely owned by a few giant companies. And they only allow you to enjoy them if you trade your attention primarily (watch ads), or data, or currency. That in a world where the digitization of media allows us to copy and share them infinitely at almost no cost in terms of resources.
That being said, you can still access these via trade-free interfaces.

@Rokosun has fully rebuilt our TROMjaro Welcome app from scratch. Now it is a lot more elegant in terms of the code, and opens up a lot more possibilities for us to integrate more features into it. Something that we will do in the very near future.

Our TROMjaro Theme Switcher has been fully re-written by @Rokosun in Nim and the owlkettle library. Our theme switcher is now made in a more sane way.
When you select a theme it will remain highlighted using the accent color of the selected theme. The notifications are also improved and you can see the theme icon in the notification preview.
Roko had to learn all of these from scratch, in order to make it. He is always improving our custom TROMjaro scripts and on top of that he is a proper human being: calm, nice, smart, down to Earth, and so friendly. How awesome that he is helping TROM so much without asking anything in return. That0s becuase he does not "work for TROM", we all work together to build something important and useful!
@esh Dude thanks a lot for telling me about this language, I feel like it would've taken me a long long time if I were to write this in something like C, but #Nim offers a very simple and flexible syntax without any major performance drawback, it actually compiles to C code which is amazing.
Yeah, I wish to see more applications written in #Nim, and so happy that it's a part of #TROMjaro OS now. ๐ I think, it might be a very good platform for promoting the performant and useful utilities like that. I think, I'll rewrite a welcome app in #Nim too someday.

You don't have to, I'm working on it as we speak, haha ๐ @tio asked me if I could also rewrite our Layout Switcher in Nim, so maybe I'll do that too let's see. Overall I'm really glad to have found this owlkettle library, I'm forever grateful to the developers of that library because it is what made it possible for me to write GUI apps, the developer even made some tutorials on YouTube which were extremely helpful.
Oh man you are so kind, I honestly couldn't have done it without you. I was reading this article the other day about how people often overlook non-code contributions in the FOSS community - opensource.net/non-code-open-sโฆ It made me think of you and how most of the work in TROMjaro is not related to code at all. Anyway, here's the funny thing - at one point I remember watching some YouTube tutorials to learn how Inkscape works, and man it was not easy at all ๐ So for me it's very impressive how you can quickly design these little icons and such, Theme Switcher wouldn't have been possible without those nice button icons you made - the UI is the only part visible to the end users so it's important to make it look nice and intuitive. It's amazing how we can work together to make this thing that none of us could've made alone ๐
We had to remove the donor wall from tromsite.com/donate/ because it was incorrectly displaying the donors. At times it was displaying the donors who donated for other campaigns, or displaying those that canceled their monthly support. Sorry about that. If we make it work we will add it back.
