Now that we are raising money to pay for a year for all of our servers, our TROM.tf server decided that its main drive is failing....
We have backups to external locations but please be aware if the entire TROM.tf fails may be the drive and we will have to replace it. In the next days we cannot do that (me, Tio, very busy) but as soon as possible we will try to replace the drive. Let's hope it will not fail in the meantime.....

Thank you amazing people for helping with the donation campaign!! We are so close to the finishing line :)
Life feels like shit recently, but man it also feels amazing to see that there are people who appreciate TROM and its baby projects. Thank you. It gives me a lot of fuel to continue!

We raised 223€ out of 1.100€:
Campaign here - donorbox.org/pay-for-our-trom-…
Out of 900 Newsletter subscribers and a few hundreds of followers on the fediverse, only 6 people have donated. We will try to reach those who use our TROM.tf services. If only a handful, literally, of people support us financially then perhaps is not sustainable to run services such as Friendica, Nextcloud, Peertube and more for everyone. We can't pay for them ourselves. Myself...Tio.
Even small donations, a cup of coffee, could make an impact a little bit. We will see by the end of this month how things go. If we really cannot get enough support to pay 1.000€ for our servers for a year, then we need to make our instances only for us at TROM and move to a cheaper server solution.
It is sad. But is no option on the table. Without financial support I cannot pay some 100€ a month for the servers.
Massive thank you to the 6 people who donated! It helps a lot.

Please help us Pay for our TROM servers for a year donorbox.org/pay-for-our-trom-…
Here is the newsletter we sent: newsletter.tromsite.com/archiv…
It is very difficult recently to manage it all inside this Trade Society. Every little financial help, helps!
Mind you there are thousands of people who use our TROM.tf services, and also take value from our many projects and TROM content. So if possible to help us a bit financially.
Thanks a lot!

Some TROM Updates:
We likely fixed the Friendica crash and downtimes. For the past weeks our TROM Social could become so slow to load that it won't load anymore. We allocated more resources to the instance and so far seems to work great with no downtimes.
We fixed the issue with Peertube not sending emails to Gmail or other big email providers. When users made accounts with these email providers they wouldn't even get an email to confirm the account. Now it seems to work. And so is for our Friendica and Nextcloud instances that were suffering from the same plague.
We released a new TROMjaro yesterday - just updates.
Finally we are testing a Pixelfed instance. :) Another tool for our TROM.tf services!
Would be great if we got more financial support for all of this work. If you can please see this tromsite.com/donate/
Thanks!

We are being attacked by the trolls on the fediverse. Is ok, we will block a lot of these black hole instances. It is truly sad to see this astonishing degradation of humanity. Tagged in posts that show people killing other people, or pornography, or insulting us.
Interesting how some people can lower themselves so much is nothing humane in them.
We at TROM provide trade-free services and materials for anyone. Hosting instances, file hosting, and so much more. As a service for other humans. And now this...
Quite disgusting...
For sure more will leave insane comments to this post too. And we will keep on blocking them and their instances.

You should follow Big World small Sasha on Peertube - videos.trom.tf/c/big_world_sma…
She is making very interesting hiking videos. And she posts on Peertube! :)
We need more people who create original content to use Peertube. Without the content the platform cannot evolve.

Thank you Ognjen for becoming our new TROM Supporter - tromsite.com/donate/
We create a lot of trade-free stuff, and hopefully this month we will release something new. Let's see.
We need 200 people to donate €5 a month in order to support our projects long term. We only accept equal donations of €5 to spread the load and make everyone equal within this campaign.
See the donation page for a detail look at what TROM does ;)

we have recived insane amounts of false / fake takedown notices. While in the US his is illegal and you can sue (and even get ppl in jail for this) in Europe this is not illegal. There is nothing you can do about.
If Hetzner causes you issues DM me i am sure we can find an easy solution.

TROM likes this.
I hope this doesn't mean PeerTube is going the way of YT where you don't own your content anymore, because a big part of PeerTube is actually owning your content and not being at the mercy of an evil megacorporation.
Many thanks to everyone to is still supporting TROM financially - tromsite.com/donate/
We ask for 5€ donations if anyone can help, to distribute the financial burden and not rely on a few individuals. There are 83 people supporting us monthly. If anyone thinks this project is worth supporting please see the donation page and help. There we explain all what we do.
Thank you very much!

Thank you Ondine for becoming our new TROM supporter tromsite.com/donate/ - it is so motivating to see new people supporting TROM. Makes you want to put more effort into it, create new things, etc.!
If we get 12 more people to donate 5€ a month we can do these:
We will start a video series for TROM, similar to the books' content.
We will bring back TROMnews because the world needs a good news website.
We will increase the TROM Files storage space to 20GB for all.
That would be fantastic!

We explain it all in detail in this book tromsite.com/trombooks/#flipbo…
We also made a documentary based on the book tromsite.com/documentaries/tro…
And a short presentation if the above are too big - videos.trom.tf/w/6R92qduTeGHma…

in reply to Sally (evil) • •The reason we use "trade" to describe the global society is because all of these "isms" are making it all very confusing and everyone understands whatever they want from them. Lots of words, but I think it takes some time to detach from these "isms" and see what is behind the global force of consumerism.
The force of trade indeed makes people behave like total cunts, to put it simply. Be it in groups like companies, or governments, or individuals, etc..
