Thank you InfinitelyGalactic for the TROMjaro review: Why we NEED new distros! - TROM Jaro Review ytb.trom.tf/watch?v=_fUGJdYPpc…
He is one of the few Linux reviewers that takes time to look into distros. So we are more than happy to see this review and the context he puts it into.
Awesome! #tromlive
Why we NEED new distros! - TROM Jaro Review
So many thoughts on this one. Inspired by a recent videos by @Chris Titus Tech and @The Linux Experiment I make the argument for why we need new Linux distributions for the desktop using a pretty sweet distro based on Manjaro - TROM Jaro.InfinitelyGalactic | Invidious

FHEM
FHEM (TM) is a GPL’d perl server for house automation. It is used to automate some common tasks in the household like switching lamps / shutters / heating / etc. and to log events like temperature / humidity / power consumption.
The program runs as a server, you can control it via web or smartphone frontends, telnet or TCP/IP directly.
In order to use FHEM you’ll need a 24/7 server (NAS, RPi, PC, MacMini, etc) with a perl interpreter and some attached hardware like the CUL-, EnOcean-, Z-Wave-USB-Stick, etc. to access the actors and sensors.
It is pronounced without the h, like in feminine.

OpenSCAD
OpenSCAD is a free software application for creating solid 3D computer-aided design (CAD) objects. It is a script-only based modeller that uses its own description language; parts can be previewed, but cannot be interactively modified by mouse in the 3D view. An OpenSCAD script specifies geometric primitives (such as spheres, boxes, cylinders, etc.) and defines how they are modified and combined (for instance by intersection, difference, envelope combination and Minkowski sums) to render a 3D model. As such, the program does constructive solid geometry (CSG). OpenSCAD is available for Windows, Linux and macOS.

Carbon Capture, yet another "green washing" that won't help us at all - ytb.trom.tf/watch?v=nJslrTT-Yh…
When the trade based society we live in, makes us all want to trade like insane robots, then you can't fix anything unless you fix society. Period. And these "technological" solutions are a mere scapegoat for the best players of the game, who have no interest in changing the game. After all, they are having lots of fun.
So yeah....no, carbon capture is no more than a scam. #tromlive

in reply to Rokosun • •Yup. ANd ofc he did not go through some of the important tweaks that we have done, like I do not know any distro that comes with a VPN, or fixes the XFCE zombie apps, or syncs the theme, icons and fonts across most apps (he did emphasized tho about this). And so forth. In any case, awesome to finally see TROMjaro featured to such a good linux channel. Overall good. Been casually following this channel for many years now, actually one of the first linux ytb channels. The guy seems very nice, calm, and to the point.
Anyway, great to see this.
