Thank you Wojmir for the 10 Euros donation! Let us remind you that we desperately need help to fund our backups for all of our projects. We need to raise 300 Euros in less than 2 weeks. https://www.tromsite.com/trom-backup/
To keep on doing trade-free things in a trade-based world is a fight that requires a lot of struggles, almost like swimming against a tsunami. But what is the alternative? Give up and not do anything? That's by far the easiest solution since the water current will push you into the "normal" direction. But for now we are still trying with TROM. We have reached many thousands of minds and with very little funding required. Thus, if you think TROM is still relevant, consider to support it since I (Tio) cannot push it all by myself.
Big thanks to the few people who are still supporting TROM, financially or not.

We've updated our TROM Videos too. Now Peertube has more cool features like the storyboard - you can hover with your mouse over the seekbar of a video and see thumbnails. Pretty nice!
We are currently generating the thumbnails for all of our videos (may take a while to finish), but any new video uploaded from now one will have this feature.
You can also add chapters to your videos and more. Awesome job @PeerTube !
From now on we will post a "must watch" documentary from VideoNeat on our Peertube's homepage - https://videos.trom.tf so make sure you check that out and subscribe to our VideoNeat channel - https://videos.trom.tf/c/videoneat/videos
This year we will try to focus on the content for our TROM Videos and bring new creators, plus create new videos ourselves too.
So please, if you can, help us here https://www.tromsite.com/donate/ - we only need 160 more people to donate 5 Euros a month to support TROM forever.

I should've had recorded and made a documentary about my and Sasha's situation...4 years now and we still did not get any papers for Sasha. We've been through so much shit you can't imagine....just to let us live together. Now we thought that's it, finally, we paid a lawyer to submit all of the papers, I have a "job", and we were told that in 2 or so months we will have an answer. That was in September last year....
We contacted the lawyer today and we were told .... "Oh can take up to 7 months..." - fuck them. These robots...
I bet most people have no clue about how fucked up it is. To basically not be able to stay together unless you have a lot of money. Insane. And this is EU....Spain, wow civilizations. Fuck them, primitive tribes.
Maybe we will piece together the entire story with the little footage we have, and release a sort of documentary at one point. Because this is insanely ridiculous....

sudo pamac upgrade
gave me the updated Layout Switcher, but nothing else covered in your article.
This is a rolling release so no need to upgrade to any new version, you'll get the right updates directly to your system. The other changes are not that important I'd say and can be easily done by anyone who reads the release notes. Like in this release we replaced some default apps and I linked to the ones that we replaced so you can simply install them. But that's all.
So I replaced SMplayer with Celluloid, Gnome Usage with Resources, GUV with Cameractrls, and qTox with Jami. It is very very rare that we replace our default apps. So no, you do not have to do anything other than keeping your system updated and install whatever apps you want form the ones we replaced.

This documentary is crazy. To think that this is happening in 2024 is insane. People treated like slaves in concentration camps, brainwashed to extremes.

I highly recommend this documentary!

This photo looks fake, but it is not, and it is taken with a mobile phone. Plus I did no editing:
These are the islands where I live, and the wonderful night sky. You can see the Pleiades in the left top side, and that bright one top center is Jupiter:
4 minutes exposure with Pixel 4A.

A perspective photo that I really like. The moon and the bus. This is straight out of my phone - no telescope or binoculars, and no editing.

This is the best photo I could take of Saturn...
Only edited a bit the contrast/luminosity. Taken with Pixel 4A and Celestron 130 SLT. I know that people usually take such photos from lots of frames and they stack them together with specialized software, plus do a lot of editing after. Yeah their results are many times better, but for one right now I do not feel like spending hours to edit/create such a photo, and second when is the editing too fake? Too much? If you use special programs to reconstruct pixels on a low quality photo....then is almost like adding bits that are not even there....idk...
At least this sort of photo is one that I enjoy taking by looking at Saturn through my phone's camera live, and taking a brief photo. Then edited it for less than a minute.

I find it fascinating to see Jupiter when it is daytime. A bit bizarre. And beautiful.

The Orion Nebula with a mobile-freaking-phone:
Pixel 4A + Celestron SLT 130, 10mm eyepiece.
My telescope was in auto-tracking mode and the exposure time was 4 minutes with the default Pixel Camera app.
I am astonished by this photo! You can see freaking color! COLOR! I only tuned down the gamma a bit but that's all of the editing I've done. Here is another unedited photo with a 20mm eyepiece:
I was soooo surprised to see this coming out of the phone :D - damn so fucking cool! 1.3 thousand light years away, stars forming.....so beautiful....so mindblowing!

This is so cool! 😍
So you attach your phone to the eyepiece of your telescope, right? Also, could you see this nebula with your naked eyes or did you had to use the 4 minute exposure photography to see it clearly?
like this
Yes. I will do a video about these but basically yes I have a special adapter that connects my phone to the eyepiece of the telescope. Interestingly with the night mode for my phone (the default pixel camera app) you can see this nebula almost like you see it with your naked eye. But ofc not that sharp and clear. So you can see it some, but it is ofc colorless if you look directly at it. And it is nowhere near close to what you see in this photo I took. That's why I love to take these photos because they reveal the invisible.
Also the light pollution makes a massive difference when it comes to seeing such faint objects. This is an interesting article with illustrations about what you can see and how through different telescopes and conditions - https://www.deepskywatch.com/Articles/what-can-i-see-through-telescope.html

@Aaron is going to present TROM tomorrow in Hamburg at the Chaotic Computer Club event. Unfortunately he only has a small, few minutes long opportunity to present the project in a workshop-like way. We tried to get TROM to the main event but there were too many applying (over 600) so we were no accepted. We will try next year.
But awesome that Aaron is there and he is trying to spread the message.
If we will have any videos and photos we will share with you on our Friendica :)

European Climate Pact Ambassador
I have some good news, I've just become official EU Climate Pact Ambassador for Latvia.
What it means basically I became a member of EU initiative to promote ecology, biodiversity, climate issues and solutions in Europe. They have many ambassadors all over EU from all different backgrounds and professions, with all kind of skills. But everyone have a common goal to improve ecology in all possible ways.
From now on I have access to some European Union projects, initiatives and trainings. Also will have a chance to present Be Brave To Act in Euro Parliament in Brussels next year.
Here is the list of all ambassadors if you curios : https://climate-pact.europa.eu/about/meet-our-ambassadors_en

I don't think they will help financially, I am not sure what to expect really, i guess it's more about me having access to several activities they are doing in EU. And also possibility to connect with other similar "activists". Also not sure about exposure, but probably If I will have a short presentation in Brussels then I might get some good contacts or opportunities.

TROM II: A Message to The Aliens (documentary) - https://www.tromsite.com/documentaries/trom2/
Now fully subtitled into Spanish, making it available to many millions of people who only speak spanish. All thanks to the wonderful Rafa and Vicky, and Cesar.
The amount of work to subtitle such a documentary in a professional way is quite intense and these people are doing it without asking anything in return. That's how we all should be. To do the things we feel are important and not worry about how to survive on this planet.
If you want to help us translate the documentary in more languages please contact us. https://www.tromsite.com/contact/

@PeerTube we have released our documentary exclusively on Peertube and only there, in June. It is 5 hours long, 4 parts, and we worked 3 years to make it. Here it is https://videos.trom.tf/w/p/fVpfZ9VfWrWawHkggKi7Wz
Please consider adding it to your https://joinpeertube.org/#find-peertube-videos website as a showcase of original Peertube releases if you think it is worth it. We have it subtitled in a few languages already and it is basically about why the bad things that happen in the world (where do they originate from), but also about how we could maybe change that. It is about open source, volunteers, and overall treating people as humans and helping them. To help each other.
Please consider it and maybe our instance too - https://videos.trom.tf - dedicated to science/technology/activism.

I have visited Aaron this weekend:
Such an amazing guy! As always. In 2 days I will return home, I am still at @Roma 's place.
After I return I will make a big article about the entire ZDay experience and meeting lots of wonderful people. Then I will focus to update our servers and services, including our Friendica! Currently we need to put Friendica in maintenance mode for some 20 minutes a day to backup the database....but that sucks since you cannot use it for this period of time. So I need to fix that too.
Anyway, I have had a wonderful experience for these past 10 or so days and I hope to have more of these experiences.
