To keep on doing trade-free things in a trade-based world is a fight that requires a lot of struggles, almost like swimming against a tsunami. But what is the alternative? Give up and not do anything? That's by far the easiest solution since the water current will push you into the "normal" direction. But for now we are still trying with TROM. We are noticing the modern public beheading of those who challenge the status quo. But these modern dictators do not have yet the courage to admit that they did it. They only make it very obvious that they did.
Russia seems to have become an authoritarian regime, the old school one. And this is increasingly concerning. Silencing the protesters, killing the political opponents, and infecting the media with terrible propaganda.
"make no mistake" (to quote the chief of USA), the other tribes are flavors of the same medicine. USA, EU, and the rest, are abusive in their own way, and have killed, and still killing, many innocent people. Russia is just worse. So don't let the degree of "doing bad things" take away from the fact that the other tribes are also abusive. USA may not kill the political opponents, but it is damn good at giving no chance to any radical change in the good direction of their tribe.
Anyway.... it is a sad and scary world. Humans, what a deplorable species.

The film tells about the events related to the poisoning of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny and the subsequent investigation into the poisoning. On 20 August 2020, Navalny was poisoned with a Novichok nerve agent,[6] falling sick during a flight from Tomsk to Moscow, and was hospitalized in serious condition. Navalny was taken to a hospital in Omsk after an emergency landing there, and put in a coma. Two days later, he was evacuated to the Charité hospital in Berlin, Germany. The use of the nerve agent was confirmed by five Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) certified laboratories. Navalny blamed Russian president Vladimir Putin for his poisoning, while the Kremlin has repeatedly denied involvement.
We've updated our TROM Videos too. Now Peertube has more cool features like the storyboard - you can hover with your mouse over the seekbar of a video and see thumbnails. Pretty nice!

This post is a little later than I wanted it to be, because where I live just got buried under 24" +/- of snow and I haven't had internet for a couple of days. So, here we go:
Disclaimer: The day after I downloaded and installed TROMjaro, a new ISO was released. I downloaded and installed that new ISO because some changes were made and I wanted to be as current as possible for this post.
1: TROMjaro is not a beginner's distro. There are some things that need to be set up after install, and if you don't know how to go about it or where to find the setting before hand, you're going to have a bad time. CUPS for using your printer is a prime example. Like most things ARCH/ ARCH based, this is an RTFM moment.
2: TROMjaro is pretty privacy foused. Not on the level of Whonix or Tails OS (obviously), but the preinstalled software is all centered around not collecting any of your data. Even the customized Firefox is configured to block all ads, most tracking cookies, and browser fingerprinting. If that isn't enough, there is a preinstalled VPN that is beyond simple to use.
3: This distro is seriously snappy and light weight. None of the customization done to XFCE lags it down. Processor and RAM loads for daily usage on my machine are around 10% or less, which is actually pretty incredible considering I'm running a Ryzen 5 and 8 gigs of RAM on an HP Pavilion business class laptop with built in graphics.
4: There is NO BLOAT. "Out of the box", TROMjaro doesn't give you a bunch of useless software to clean out because you aren't going to use it. That's pretty much unheard of with most distros.
5: Speaking of software.... Between the Add/remove software app that has the AUR, Chaotic AUR, and Flatpak already enabled and set up, as well as TROM's Trade Free Software web app, it's pretty much impossible to not find the software you need for your specific use case. It's almost impossible to find any other distro that does all that work for you, though.
6: This distro is gorgeous. Seriously. Out of the box, the theming makes TROMjaro a pleasure to look at. The only things I've changed are switching to a different pre-installed wallpaper,and the Mac OS layout.
7: The Layout Switcher is one of the coolest things I've seen from a distro in a long time. I usually spend a bunch of time customizing a desktop environment to my liking after installing a distro. For the first time since I switched to Linux ( some time around Windows 8 - 8.1) , I haven't had to do that. Which is awesome.
8: "The Trade Free Apps" has got to be one of the best curated FOSS repositories I have ever seen. Currently there are 700+ pieces of software there, from video editors to matrix clients, none which collect data or have any telemetry. It's truly incredible.
I'd Like to be able to say "Now on to all the bad things about TROMjaro", but I can't. At least, not yet. I haven't had anything that I would consider a major issue. A lot of work has obviously gone in to the development of TROMjaro, and it shows. I think I've found my new permanent daily driver distro,
I should've had recorded and made a documentary about my and Sasha's situation...4 years now and we still did not get any papers for Sasha. We've been through so much shit you can't imagine....just to let us live together. Now we thought that's it, finally, we paid a lawyer to submit all of the papers, I have a "job", and we were told that in 2 or so months we will have an answer. That was in September last year....
We contacted the lawyer today and we were told .... "Oh can take up to 7 months..." - fuck them. These robots...
I bet most people have no clue about how fucked up it is. To basically not be able to stay together unless you have a lot of money. Insane. And this is EU....Spain, wow civilizations. Fuck them, primitive tribes.
Maybe we will piece together the entire story with the little footage we have, and release a sort of documentary at one point. Because this is insanely ridiculous....

So while i know and see the bad constantly, I see we have constantly get rid of the idea of state 'help' in our heads in that circle and even birth certificates etc that put claim on our body / spirit (or the children as we give it to them).
Eventually we have to undo it ALL probably by reducing contact and less funding them every year of our lives.
To expect 0 from them and even expect them never to care seems true. It's so far gone (even hospitals cheating those who think it's free while paying insurance / tax for subsidies for meat / eggs industry / cruelty and giving cholesterol etc that goes back to treating illness but not the cause / the loop itself).
Business is Bad loops.
So not just another documentary maybe, something more which I know you have done already but every now and again we have step up (AGAIN) and feel proud for doing it. I don't have all the answers or maybe I do that you need to twist in your own way.
So "NO MORE MONEY" - yes. And NOW MORE FUNNY PAPER "WORK".
That's my main message.
Below is just more since I visit your stuff occasionally. So if personal help with can be offered (not just money) then you can involve others and better loops of better people.
I know you have done a lot and it's like asking someone to put a bar of weights "a little bit more" but given the right exploring together we can absolutely smash our limits and find people.
I like your stuff, I think it's always about how to do the 1 more "level up" and moral "power up" even though you're already living the way.
Examples to PUSH FORWARD MORE;
1. Home-birth baby no certs / no giving baby to state. 2. Get out of city trap/pay zone 3. Your own Couchsurfing-style / custom made "circle of chat" platform for people living the way or actually creating trust socially
(e.g. Mastodon is not doing this it's just a empty social platform without anyone working on *socially increasing trust* or *growing better people*). Work on that (again see you are but refresh me also since I check every few years when I reach a dead-end when interaction stops for helping <--- which I think is the main clincher to aim for).
Online chats and circles as part of living and growing people NOT money is a big part of finding the way..
Happy to talk and you can visit / live here for a while (EU).
Above concrete list of ideas are actually to work a on a solution a bit more meta than the usual complaining (rightly complaining but just complaining doesn't work always) and beyond displaying more of the same hate, something loving / exploring... less begging / expecting from bastards (the wrong people) and finding more the good.
It's the brutal branch of evolution that we came from and still just have to find a way to face it (comfortably or otherwise) and even wear it down / withdraw contact / silently boycott.
Again happy to talk more personally and even help... we need to really work on something more weekly daily even if not directly in contact, keeping it all funneled in knowing in the background it's all coming back to us. (for example Trade-Free but finding away more than money to give back which talking to Alexio wasn't really clear so I just left it as is). TROMjaro Layout Switcher revamp In this release we are bringing the new TROMjaro Layout Switcher. @rokosun rewrote the entire application in the Nim programming language with use of owlkettle library for GTK.
Is there a way to force a system upgrade to the current ISO version? sudo pamac upgrade gave me the updated Layout Switcher, but nothing else covered in your article.
This is a rolling release so no need to upgrade to any new version, you'll get the right updates directly to your system. The other changes are not that important I'd say and can be easily done by anyone who reads the release notes. Like in this release we replaced some default apps and I linked to the ones that we replaced so you can simply install them. But that's all.
So I replaced SMplayer with Celluloid, Gnome Usage with Resources, GUV with Cameractrls, and qTox with Jami. It is very very rare that we replace our default apps. So no, you do not have to do anything other than keeping your system updated and install whatever apps you want form the ones we replaced.

Our TROM Call now requires a username and password in order to create a call. This is stated on the main trom.tf website. The password and username are "tromcall" and it will create a unique call session every time. Therefore it can be used by anyone.
Only edited a bit the contrast/luminosity. Taken with Pixel 4A and Celestron 130 SLT. I know that people usually take such photos from lots of frames and they stack them together with specialized software, plus do a lot of editing after. Yeah their results are many times better, but for one right now I do not feel like spending hours to edit/create such a photo, and second when is the editing too fake? Too much? If you use special programs to reconstruct pixels on a low quality photo....then is almost like adding bits that are not even there....idk...
At least this sort of photo is one that I enjoy taking by looking at Saturn through my phone's camera live, and taking a brief photo. Then edited it for less than a minute.
