I wanted to ask for years. Is there a simple edition of LibreOffice? "LibreOffice SE"

Or is there a way I can have all the options I don't use or don't understand thrown out?

I would like to pay, perhaps others too. Am happy to contribute a bit to a crowdfunding.

You could argue that they "just" need to put in a bit more effort, but maybe it's best to find ways to further improve the user experience?

(The linked twitter post has been deleted. And the anti-savvy of posting a link on Mastodon to your Nazi-bar twitter post is awesome. In a bad way. Less cool than posting a dick pic in your intro.)

Edit: Following as I love libreoffice. And I love seeing trainwrecks in which no one is harmed.

Better to listen to people, trust them, and think creatively about how to address their problems.

We need more empathy. We all have different needs and priorities in life. Being better at computers and having the time to invest into learning new things don't make anyone superior in any way.

It's interesting how people over there are claiming no one is here, Mastodon is too hard to use, blah blah blah—meanwhile, this post here is getting significantly more engagement than that post over there.

"There's this new site called Facebook, let me help you sign up." Followed by "everyone can see the message you just wrote. 😳 Let me show you how to..." etc.

Expecting zero friction is exhausting.

I think 1.5K boosts and 2.3K favorites proves people actually do use Mastodon.

@wavefunction I don't know, I'm still just not really convinced that people lying about how difficult Mastodon/fediverse is being a major reason people prefer Bluesky.

People complain about user experience on Bluesky all the time. No edit button. No private posts. Etc. And as Bluesky slowly works towards greater decentralization, we'll see more challenges.

But I trust that there will be more attention put towards easing those there, rather than blame the user.

I've read the first few replies. Nothing unexpected. There's no one in Mastodon, you have to stay in X, etc.

You know what, the Internet is large and if you want to know about something you will add it to your RSS or open an account in another network. News sites still exist and LO shows up there too.
