From 14th to 18th of September we will try to migrate our Peertube to another server. One drive is failing on this server plus our IP is banned by Google, so we are attempting to solve more issues at once. Please try not to upload anything new on Peertube between these dates!
@lps Yep, we use Linode Object Storage, and it works great. Pretty much any S3-compatible provider should work, although you may have to deal with specific quirks of the provider to get it working.
Object Storage is a lifesaver, basically allows us to scale up and host vast amounts of video for relatively little cost.
@lps I think we’re on the 5TB tier. Yeah, it’s a bit expensive, but it gives us some room to grow. Definitely look around and compare services!
One thing that we do with onboarding new users is to point them towards our OpenCollective page, which helps offset the cost significantly. It’ll become more of a headache as the instance gets bigger, but Object Storage solved a lot of long-term problems for us.

One of our storage units for the trom.tf server is failing. We will have to replace it or move to a new server. Mind you in case trom.tf goes offline these days. Before we migrate we will let you know, but if the drive fails suddenly...
La Picota - we paid 8 Euros a night to park here. And we stayed for 3 nights. Trust us, we are very cheap people, so this must have been a fantastic place if we were keen to pay for it. Close to the parking was a "mythological" forest and at the end of it the most amazing view of Picos de Europa. Down the other way there were a bunch of beautiful waterfalls.
Crazy situation with you father Tio. I didn't expect it to be so dramatic. Not sure what to say. It doesn't look that he could be completely cured or get much better. Hopefully he will be able to manage it somehow. Maybe there is some medicine which might help, or some therapies. Anyway, all the best for your father.
Thanks Dima. We will see for now is nothing much we can do but take care of each other, try to have some nice time, keep him more mentally engaged. Truth is he is not diagnosed with dementia or anything like that. But he has these brain holes and for sure his behaviour worried us for the past years a lot. Also idk about his heart issues but we are very careful and try to take care of this situation.
So idk...we will see....I dont want to stress myself or us too much over things we cant do much about, if possible.

I usually try to ignore these things for the most part and it's not very often I go out to interact with people, but sometimes you get confronted with that reality and it can push me into that depressive state when that happens.... It's a totally different experience when you're having to watch movies to escape the reality like that, this is not like watching something you enjoy for fun once in a while but for you the goal is to escape - yeah terrible feeling I know......

I can see maybe the things you miss from being in a more "developed" country like better healthcare and education, but I think the above statement is true for most people on a global scale. I have a feeling that perhaps when we're in our hometown we get exposed to these things a lot more, by interacting with our family or people we know there.
And now about your father... I knew about the fainting and his hospitalization and all that 'cause you've told me before, but I did not realize how nerve wracking that experience must've been for you until I read this blog post. What you went through on that airplane is a literal nightmare scenario, and then the Uber drive and everything - man I don't know how I would've handled it if something like that happens to me, I might get a panic attack or something lol 😅 Anyway, I'm glad that you were able to get him to a hospital safe, let's hope there won't be any more serious issues like this in the future.....
It's an incredibly sad thing to watch your parents age out like this, I feel so sad every time I think about how much healthier they used to be and how they will continue to age as time goes on.... And yeah dementia is a real bitch man, I hope we make some progress in the science of how to treat this disease or prevent it from happening.
And I'm glad to hear that after going through all of these stressful experiences you were finally able to get back to your motorhome and get some sleep for yourself. And don't worry man we will for sure reboot TROM back to life! 🙂 You are not alone in this fight 😉

Yes I totally understand this, I feel like most of the "highest grossing" movies are just made using the same formula again and again - it is kinda like the junk food of content, you won't see actual creativity or get any insight from such films. But I don't consider "highest grossing" as a good criteria for picking movies to watch, actual good films tend to engage your mind more - makes you think or feel something so deeply, sometimes change your perspective about something. But yeah such movies don't give you that escape from reality, so if people want to turn off their mind they watch these formula movies - this is the saddest part to me, the fact that people are so tired and stressed out from work and everything that they often feel like they need an escape.....
